Judgment: Kian (The Judgment Duet, part 1) is a great story. This romance is gritty, bittersweet, and one heck of a cliffhanger at the end.
First Thought When Finished: Judgment: Kian (The Judgment Duet, part 1) by Lora Ann is now my favorite written by her. Would have never guessed that going in but WOW what a story!
Quick Thoughts: Loved the characters in this book! One of the funniest lines I read was a thought by Altros “Oh, what a sight to behold. He had a sudden craving for popcorn as he sat in a nearby tree, enjoying the show.” This is a must read and I can’t wait for part 2!

ANGELS AND DEMONS AND THE ONES WHO SEE THEM######
Kian has intervened and helped humans. He gets his wings cut off and is thrown out of the heavenly realm. After landing naked on the snowy mountain side. Aftron throws him her coat to cover his junk. Kian has a purpose to protect a child named Cole McNeil, who can see demons and angels . Very few people have this gift and are precious to the war on evil. Now if we could get Kian to focus on the task at hand. Because he's really crushing on Aftron who thinks she's unworthy....
Quote,,, "I see the shame and guilt you carry, Little One. You must forgive yourself for the past or you'll never enjoy the present, and you will taint the future."
It's important she starts forgiving herself for her mistakes. Because, she's to help him in this WAR on sex trafficking , protecting Cole and taking down a serial killer. Fight the demons who love being apart of all the evil.
This was such a great read and big surprises, that will make her fans say,,,OMG,,!!! HIGHLY recommended to anyone who loves dark romance, action, suspense and the fight between good and evil...

This story pulled me in from the beginning. I was so captivated by the story and the characters. This author has been a favorite of mine for awhile and I have not been disappointed. Kian and Afton are tortured by their past. This story is intense, dark and has a cliffhanger ending that will leave you wanting more! I can’t wait for the next book to see where this author takes it. I highly recommend this book!

I have to start by saying Paranormal is usually not my thing. Lora Ann has changed that! Kian and Afton lured me in and never let me go. I totally fell in love with their story and the way Lora brings everything to life. I started this book in the morning and devoured it in one sitting. Thank you Lora Ann for another incredible book! Mesmerising from beginning to end
I love Lora Ann's work, but his one was totally unexpected. I went into this story blind, I didn't want any preconceived ideas of what the story was about. From the very first page, Lora Ann blew me away ... she had me totally mesmerised until the final word was read.
This is the story of Kian, an angel who has had his wings clipped and is sent to Earth to live a single lifetime as a human. He must also fulfil a mission, find the child with the rare gift and protect him.
The relationship between Kian and Afton, the human who finds him, is like fireworks going off on the 4th of July - you never know what is going to happen next. The chemistry is instant, lust is at the forefront, there is domination and submission, but most of all there is an understanding between them that they both need each other. They are an odd combination, an angel serving penance and a woman so broken by her past that she believes that she is neither capable of receiving or returning love, however they match each other beautifully.
Throughout her story Lora Ann introduces many characters, each one serving a definitive purpose. Some I really loved, other I absolutely hated - such was the diversity of the characters and their roles in Kian's mission. Her ongoing development of these characters was smooth and flawless and made reading extremely pleasurable. Her plot lines and descriptions were beyond inmagination, she cleverly drew me in, wanting (no needing) more and more of this amazing story.
The book concludes on a HUGE cliffhanger, something that I didn't see coming. Thankfully part two will be out within the next couple of months.
A scintillating and highly recommended read. Bravo Lora Ann.

Kian is stripped of his wings and now is to live among the humans without any of his powers. His mission is still to find and protect the child.
Afton is trying to escape her past by living alone in isolation in the woods where she finds peace and safety. That is until she finds a naked Kian in the woods and brings him back to her cabin where she gives him clothes. Their chemistry is instantly there and Kian not ever being in human form before doesn't understand what is happening. ( Quite funny at times ) As they get to know each other she is determined to keep her distance as she doesn't feel worthy of his love. She feels too broken to be forgiven and because of that why would she deserve love. He tells her very commanding that she deserves to be loved! That she will "beg for his love".
She has information that will help him locate the child so he is very important to his mission.
Wow absolutely love where Kian and Afton journey is taking them, so far it's intense, raw, dark with one HELL of a cliffhanger! I can't wait to see what happens next. Love the secondary characters and the twist and turns. ♥️

Judgment: Kian( The Judgment Duet, part 1) by Lora Ann. Kian has been stripped of his angelic wings and as his punishment he is banished to live as a men. While on earth he is to protect a little boy with special powers. Once on earth Kian is befriended by Afton, a lady who has secluded herself away from a life she would rather forget. Others as well are after this special boy. Some of these people are of this world and some are not of this world. A very interesting story that has a lot of different players who have their own struggles. There is the struggle between Heaven and Hell & good and evil. There are humans, demons, angels and fallen angels. The story has forbidden love, BDSM and torture. Initially I had a hard time deciding how I felt about this story because of all the things going on with the different characters. But I can say I am looking forward to the next book, there were several different story lines I am curious to see how the author will wrap them up. A really strange premise for a book. I give it 4 stars.

The chemistry between Kian and Afton is off the charts right from the off.
Lora Ann brought in characters from her Beautiful Ashes Series, which she blended so well it just feels like an extention, like family.
I have to say, I don't usually cry about books or characters, in fact i very rarely do, but I did with this one, with Kian, oh Kian, noooooooooooo, I hope the next book comes out quickly because this one ends on a huge cliff hanger and I need to know what happens next.

Judgment: Kian is the first part in The Judgment Duet. This is Kian and Afton’s story. Kian is an angel that has had his wings stripped and he has been banished to Earth to live as a man. Afton is the first to see him in all his glory and throws her coat over him to cover his naked self and then brings him to her cabin. Kian has a job to protect a little boy, Cole McNeil while he is on Earth.
There are a lot of characters in Judgment: Kian and I would think this book would benefit from a glossary of who’s who. Especially for complicated & intense stories such as this one.
There are Humans, Vampires, Angels & Demons, oh my! Judgment: Kian is a Dark Urban Fantasy & Paranormal story.

This Book was really intense. This is my first read by this author and the more I got into this book, the more I kept turning the pages. I was a bit confused at first but I kept reading, and then more characters were introduced and I was finally getting the story. Kian and Afton are both tortured souls, one angelic, and one not. There are many different beings in this story and they all have a part to play in this story. It's amazing how Ms. Ann comes up with the next twist in the story, and there are a lot to keep the reader very interested. As another reader said, one great line was when Altos said oh good, time for popcorn to watch what happens next. I got to the last page, and I read the last line and I went ... AAAGH! I can't wait for part two to come out.

Five star thrilling romance is nothing new for Lora Ann. However, when you add the supernatural in - WOW! These characters really jump right off the page!
Kian, Angel turned Human, is cast down to Earth to protect a child who will will be powerful in his own right against the mechanisms of evil. Here he meets Afton and soon learns there is more to her mysterious background.
In a race against time, Kian and Afton set off to find the child. Kian calls upon both his Earthly and Heavenly warrior brothers to fight a battle they aren’t sure they can win.
The characters are beautifully written with wonderful human flaws. Lora Ann has created a new world where you can believe Angles are just as human as we are. A truly enthralling story that leaves you looking over the edge of a cliff and wanting more. 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Lora Ann is one of those authors who can constantly make me feel the emotions within her stories. Kian is a paranormal romance and dark urban fantasy that will make you a believer in the supernatural. The chemistry between the main characters Kian and Afton is electric. I love how Kian speaks what he feels and how he communicates his feelings to Afton. (Every man should take a lesson from this book). We also see the return of some beloved characters from the Beautiful Ashes series, which feels like old friends coming back to visit. I loved the tension that was caused between good and evil and how it affected each of the characters. Lora Ann was able to make Angels appear human and not just a spiritual being. The ending had me gasping and cursing all at the same time. I am truly looking forward to the next book of this series!

Complicated, Intense - Packed with detailed plotlines and intricate characters that drag the reader to the edge of the abyss, leaving them breathless and scrambling to find a perch only to reel them back into a false sense of solid ground and start all over again
The author takes her time setting up the tone and introducing the characters - which I truly appreciate
The world building is detailed allowing the storyline to flow in a way that brings the scenes to life in vivid technicolor for the reader
This is a slow build read - full length - also it has multi-POV - it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger
There is adult content and subject matter so I would recommend for 18+ readers

This is my first book by Lora Ann and I must say that I was completely blown away. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I will certainly be reading others. This book will grab you from the very first page and have your begging for more when you get the last page. The characters are all well developed and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. Love, intrigue, betrayal, lies, and many other twists pull you in and won't let go. There were so many times that I just wanted to wrap my arms around Kian and Afton and hold them close. Be warned...this book does end with a cliffhanger, which normally stops me from buying if the next book is not ready, but you will want to get this book and wait for the part 2. I am anxiously waiting to find out what comes next for Afton and Kian.

There is so much going on in this book that it was very hard to put down. The story is fresh and new and kept me enthralled. Very intense and steamy, with a cliffhanger.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved this story. I definitely plan to read more of her books.
I enjoy reading paranormal romance and this one really hooked me at the start. The characters range from those who are above reproach to the evilest beings you can imagine. Throw in an angel stripped of his wings who meets a woman with a past and the story just gets better and better. I can't wait to see to read the next book in this series.

Lora Ann has given us a wonderful story of angel, humans, and demons that kept me mesmerized from the first page to the last. The storyline is flawlessly written and interesting. The main characters, Kian and Afton, are well thought out and likable. The supporting characters are an interesting mix of villains and good guys, yet sometimes they are both. The chemistry between Kian, our resident angel, and Afton, the human is electric and beautiful to enjoy. The instantaneous bond between the two allows them to depend on each other emotionally. Where one is weak the other is strong. Their journey is about more than their mission, they both learn moral and life lessons along the way. This story will draw from you a wide range of emotions, disappointment, sadness, anger, sympathy and definitely passion. This is the first book by Lora Ann I've read so I had no preconceived idea as to what to expect of her as an author, although, the teaser to the book had me intrigued from the beginning.
Her world building is without a doubt mesmerizing. Her characters are beautifully flawed making them either easy to love or easy to love to hate but either way, you won't meet them and not have a reaction.
Whether you believe in the concept of angels or not, the storyline and plot pulled me in from the beginning, making me feel as though I were a part of the action rather than a bystander just reading the words.
If you're expecting this to be a one and done then you'll be disappointed since there is a twist and a HUGE cliffhanger at the end I didn't see coming. It just made me want the next book immediately and luckily that won't be a problem. Congratulations Lora Ann on a well thought out story and allowing me to be a part of this journey.

AWESOME Book!!!!
I absolutely loved this book!!!! Take a step back and open your mind and heart and really read this as an open letter to us from the Creator, God. Yes, there is violence and sex, but we find those things in life as well. I have to say I did not expect this book to have the effect of making me truly think about why we were created, our true purpose and are we living up to that purpose. The story really hits to the core of redemption and what that means and how we can all have it, no matter our past. On a side note, if an angel could come to us as Kian came to Afton....well, I am just saying....This is a book that you have to experience and get what you get out of it as an individual. Just start with your heart and mind open.... Note that I actually paid for my copy and did not receive the free copy from Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review...now on to Part to Judgement: Lars...
