nerdgasm (noun): an emotional climax at the peak of intense (sometimes sexual) excitement, characterized by a deep attraction to nerdy things and/or people.

My stutter makes it easy to become the center of attention for all the wrong reasons, so I try hard to stay out of the spotlight.
But when Addison Mitchell breezes into the class I TA for, she turns my world upside down, shaking me out of my comfort zone.
Confident and bold, her wandering hands set my body on fire.
She sees the real me, and she’s still interested.
I’m completely out of my element, yet I’ve never felt more alive.
Fingers crossed we're not a one-off fling.
I have a lot to learn, but I’m willing to make this work.
I’m going to give her more than a nerdgasm.
I’m going to give her my heart.

Nerdgasm is my very first book by Kimberly Reese. I have to admit that it’s this awesome book cover that first drew me to this book. I might not be able to resist a hot nerdy man.

The first section of this book both stole and broke my heart when we first meet Theo Cadwell as a little boy. Theo is being raised by his widowed mom and Theo has a stuttering problem. As a result, he has a tough time dealing with bullies throughout school. Then we flash forward to twenty-three year old Theo who is now a graduate student for mythological studies at Cornell University. Theo has snagged a Teaching Assistant position for an Intro to Mythology class and he’s thrilled. It’s on the first day of class that he meets her, a crazy, beautiful, tornado of a woman. Because of his stutter, Theo doesn’t date so he is surprised by the vibe he is getting from this woman, a vibe that says she is interested!

hot nerdy man

Addison (Addy) Mitchell can’t take her eyes off the hot TA all through class. She’s usually not so forward but she can’t let him get away without at least trying to snag a date. He seems shy and she loves his little stutter. And so begins the beginning of Addy and Theo’s journey. And a journey it most definitely is!

Where Theo is very inexperienced when it comes to women, Addy has a bit more experience. But Theo makes her feel differently than any other man has. He has a way of making her feel cherished, safe, protected. They take things slow and take the time to get to know each other. Theo has worked so hard over the years to overcome the worst of his stutter but just when everything in his life is going so well, his past comes back to haunt him

This really was such a sweet story, and hot too. There are plenty of sexy times as Theo and Addy explore that part of their relationship. I’m so glad that the author chose to have them take their time. It added so much depth to their relationship I thought. These two were really special characters and were perfect together. We also meet Demi, Theo’s best friend that he grew up with, and Cohen Wilder, the teacher for the class he is assisting for. I feel like there is more there for both of these characters and hope that Kimberly will give us more of these two sometime in the future. This book is a quick read and I hope you’ll consider picking it up. If you do, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Graduate student and TA, Theo Cadwell, 23, has dealt with a stuttering problem since childhood. But undergrad Addison Mitchell finds it “adorkable.”

Cutting straight to the chase, the most refreshing thing about this novella is the reverse sexual experience imbalance that doesn’t happen nearly enough in the romance world. The manwhore and the virgin is so overdone a fork should have been stuck in it a long time ago. So squeal a little over this scenario where the hero is the virgin and the heroine has experience!

“I may be the one popping Theo’s cherry for actual penetration, but he’s effectively ruining me for other men.”

And it gets better. The heroine isn’t shy, meek, or self conscious. Addy has no problem telling Theo what she likes.
“‘Oh, my God, please do that again,’ I cry out when he presses against a sensitive spot inside me.”

It was a pleasure to read about a heroine who’s comfortable with her body and her pleasure and who isn’t afraid to make the first move. I also enjoyed the low angst factor; the conflict here was fitting and raised some interesting points. The resolution was a nice turn of events. While I did think maybe Demi overstepped her place, overall the situation was handled with maturity. There’s no contrived drama here, and the plot avoids the tired student-teacher trope dilemmas.

Theo is an all round good guy. And this story just shows that “research” and good advice can be sexier and seriously hotter than sleeping around. (Oh definitely hotter!)

I’m definitely interested in seeing where this Naughty Nerds series is going. I gotta say, Professor Cohen did sorta steal the show in his scenes so I hope he gets a steamy and swoonworthy book for himself. The Mission Orange scene was very titillating.

Told via their dual alternating 1st person POV, this is a sweet, sexy, and safe romance with positive representations of love.

I absolutely LOVED this novella! Nerds, when done right are my JAM!!!

Theo was bullied throughout life due to his stutter. Students at school were cruel but he learned how to deal with his tormentors in his own way. My heart hurt so much for him! There is nothing worse than feeling isolated and singled out and children can sometimes be the cruelest.

description

As an adult he has gained a certain amount of confidence largely due to his ability to control a good portion of his stutter. But when he’s confronted with Addy he loses that control. She’s so beautiful and she wants to date him! As a virgin with very little dating experience, his excitement and happiness over this development is overshadowed with fear. Thank you best friend Demi for being there for him!

Addy is just trying to finish up her last semester at Cornell so she can get on with her life. She’s done the dating thing and the boys she’s ended up with were more interested in frat parties than her. However, when she lays eyes on Theo she is immediately drawn to him. His nerdy goodness just attracts her more and being the modern day woman she is, she asks him out on a date.

description

I loved these characters so much! Theo was the perfect geeky hero with his love of comics, his glasses and his sweet stutter. Addy was outgoing and secure in who she was and the perfect complement to him. I loved the way her acceptance of all things Theo helped him to grow even more in confidence.

Together, Addy and Theo just worked. He needed a woman who wasn’t afraid to take the initiative and she needed someone who saw her and enjoyed being with her. Their relationship evolved in a very organic and really sweet way. Their dates were unusual and perfect for them as individuals and as a couple. I enjoyed watching them grow closer, learning about each other while respecting one another along the way. I loved the feeling of “courtship” their early relationship carried with it.

description

I can be extremely critical of novellas because most can’t carry the full range of emotions making everything feel rushed. However, Nerdgasm had the perfect pace and character development that a full length book would have and I loved every moment of it. It was full of so much goodness mixed with humor and some intense steam. The secondary characters were amazing! I absolutely MUST have their story immediately! Other than a tiny bit of conflict at the end and the initial bullying in the beginning, I would consider this a low angst read.

Overall, this book was absolutely wonderful!!! It’s the perfect lighthearted feel good read. I highly recommend it!

Something rubbed me the wrong way with this book. The character are just so bland. I think it's mostly the portrayal of what Theo is supposed to be: a nerd with a stutter. He is the quintessential stereotypical Gary Stu. Aside from being really hot and not knowing it, he is nerdy, stutters, wears glasses, reads comic books, loves cons, and has exactly one friend. He is nice, sweet, cares for his girlfriend, and mostly: he is so goddamn boring.

Addy was exactly what you would expect from a popular chick: blonde, bubbly, cheerful and has a killer body. The only thing that was missing was the cheerleader outfit.

The part where Theo's teacher was giving him a very detailed demonstration with an orange on how he should go down on a girl was just downright cringe worthy, awkward and really inappropriate. It makes no sense that he's getting those kind of lessons from an adult who he has known for only a few months when he's the guy's TA, not his best friend.

I'm not interested in the next book at this point, which will be a student/teacher thing and I'm pretty sure there will be a plaid skirt and a desk involved.

DNF - 57%

This book wasn’t AWFUL. It was sort of cute in an overly cliche and stereotypical way. Nerdy and shy hero, and a popular heroine who just found every nerdy bit of him irresistible. It was cute and basic, but then at 55% the virgin hero is stressed about figuring out how to go down on his experienced girlfriend so the professor he TA’s for gives him advice. Hold please. He gives him advice in the most cringeworthy conversation ever on the planet. It was like Ward Cleaver trying to teach the Beave, how to “eat pussy” while using an orange like a woman’s anatomy.

“You lick that sweet goodness up and savor it.”

So yeah, it reads like your dad telling you to make sure to keep going if the woman is really wet, while knowing that’s what he does with your mom. That’s the cringe level of the conversation, and that’s where I DNF, because BLEHHHH.

🌟Brief Summary:

-Addy is a semester away from graduating so she takes a class for the credit. There she spots a super hot nerdy TA that she can’t help but crush on.

-Theo has had a stutter most of his life. He was bullied and spent years learning how to help his stutter. As a result he’s shy and inexperienced with relationships so when a beautiful blonde starts pursuing him he feels out of his element.

A nerdgasm! It’s like having an orgasm from his nerdiness, which is fitting since it sounds like he’s a nerdy wet dream.”

‼️ Opinion‼️:
-This was such a sweet read. Gah I love the role reversal in this. It’s about time that we have some more experienced woman with less experienced men.

-This was a sweet and spicy college romance and I enjoyed it a lot. I highly recommend it.

-There were a few things that annoyed me, one being that it wasn’t long enough. Had it been longer I think it could have been more developed.

-Another was Demi, at one point she annoyed me but she had good intentions.

-I wish this was part of a series so we could get more stories like this one.

proper review to come at some point of time.

But note to all best friend’s. STAY. AWAY. FROM. YOUR FRIEND’S RELATIONSHIP.

And STOP trying to micromanage it because you know your best friend “so well”.

It is NOT your relationship, neither it is your pet project, and FFS, if you’re telling your best friend’s girlfriend that your friend is “normal” and “strong” and knows how to take care of himself, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH, have the faith that your friend is a “normal”, “strong” and ADULT guy who can take care of himself and can probably figure out his relationship himself WITHOUT your intervention. You cannot, just CANNOT blame another woman to treat him less than adult when you’re doing the EXACT SAME thing.

Also ignoring the bullies is a way of DEALING with them. It is NOT a solution, and standing up to them is NOT enabling them further. You may have your way of dealing with them, but you don’t get to be mad at other people if they suggest a solution. You may not want to take it up, but to claim that solution is incorrect is a dick move. Heroine was the ONLY one raising a valid question, “has ignoring the bully for such an extended period of time changed his attitude?” No? Then it’s not a solution. No judgement if you prefer to deal that way, but you also don’t get to judge others who deal with it differently.

OH MY GOD!

I seriously fucking probably died.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

Jesus I loved that book. THE ONLY thing that would have made it better would have been a HEA vs a HFN but I have a feeling we'll get wedding bells in book two which will be Demi and Professor Hottie.

Anyway. If you need a break from alpha males and want to swoon for a good guy: THIS! THHHIIISSSS!

I loved this!!
I just fell in love with these characters and this story, even if it is only a 100 something page novella.

This is a romance between Addy and Theo. Theo is the TA for one of Addy's college classes. Immediately when Addy sees Theo, she makes a plan to pursue him. That is something that I loved about this book. You rarely read about the woman persuing the man.

Addy helps Theo get out of his shell and help him gain a new confidence in himself. Theo has always had a stutter, so there is a lot of important discussion about that in this book. I LOVED how slow these characters took their physical relationship. I related to that so much. Not everyone immediately gets physical with one another, and I loved how this book showed that.

I honestly adore nerdy, sweet, and cinnamon roll heroes. I feel like they are more my type, and I don't feel like we get these types of heroes all that often in romances.

I also loved how we got to see a healthy friendship relationship between and guy and a girl, with no jealousy involved whatsoever! Love it!

My only gripe would be the cringy moment that I had while reading this. I was a little uncomfy when reading a certain scene between Theo and the professor he is the TA for. Idk, but I think it just made me feel a little weird because I am a TA and I could never in a million years picture myself having a conversation like that with my teacher 😂

I can't believe this is my first read from this author!!

Nerdgasm is one of the sweetest, funniest & most endearing books I have read in a long time. It's got an adorable nerdy hero Theo who is EVERYTHING you want in a book boyfriend. Addy is his perfect balance and their slowburn romance is not your average NA read but it's absolutely PERFECT!!

While being sweet, funny and seriously hot it also touches on some subjects that are close to my heart and the author handles them beautifully. Gah! I am seriously fangirling this book hard 😍😍

Oh & there's also a scene with an orange & a HAF Professor that made me way more turned on than citrus fruit should. Wowsa!!! Praying this particular Professor gets his own story soon.

I received an arc of this book.

“You are such a nerd.”
“Yeah, but I’m your nerd”
“And I wouldn’t have it any other way”

I read this in 2 sittings because of one conversation I had with Gaby😍 (surprise surprise😏). Maybe I’m in a phase idek but I will say - I’ll always love adorable, shy nerds. “Like the boy next door who got hot but doesn’t know it.” AQUATIC CLARK KENT?! Yes please. I’m in the nerd herd for life man🫡. This was just a cute, quick read. I was laughing so hard during one chapter, this book has no right being so… educational?! Lmaooo. And THE MARVEL TALK😏😏‼️

Yes I caught things in the writing like “I release the breath I didn’t realize I was holding”, but this was overall pretty sweet✊

“I’ll always keep you safe. If that means pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, I’ll do it. There’s nothing I won’t do for you. I-I-I…” he stutters and takes a deep, cleansing breath. “I’m f-falling for y-you, Addy”

Ok also, I like this - “To anyone who has ever been bullied or made to feel they weren’t good enough the way they are,
YOU ARE ENOUGH.”🥹

I’m giving this a GOOD 3 stars✨ (first finished book of 2023 eeek!!!)

What a refreshingly different book! Theo is a teaching assistant for a Greek Mythology class, and one of his more outgoing students immediately takes a liking to him. He’s extremely shy, and he’s struggled with a stutter for most of his life. After years of speech therapy, it’s mostly gone, but the trauma of being bullied is long lasting, and his stutter reappears when he’s nervous. And, of course, a pretty girl showing him interest makes him nervous.
This book was beyond adorable. Despite Theo’s past of being bullied, this book is very light on the angst. It’s very short--at only 160 pages--which means that there wasn’t much time for building backstory on the heroine’s end. This is a light and fun read for the summer!

I found this one buried in my kindle graveyard at 20% in. I should have just returned it rather than struggled to finished it.

Cutesy and light, cliche, and Big Bang Theory feeling. I disliked how she treated his stutter, like it was adorable rather than something he’d struggled his entire life with.

He’s a nerd, but not the typical nerd as he has a ripped swimmer body. He’s a virgin, she is not.

I’m so tired of popular culture sweeping over real bullied nerds. Being a ‘nerd’ is considered popular now, and I guess that’s a good thing. But society isn’t talking about the actual kids who are teased relentlessly, who have to wear the same clothes every day to school, who smell because they don’t have running water at home, or those who struggle with bad acne. They are talking about ‘acceptable’ nerds, like the one featured in this book.

Not to mention the super cringy scene that involves eating out an orange.

"He's like the boy next door who got hot but doesn't know it."

This little novella was my first book by Kimberly and it is such fun, yummy and refreshing to read! Nerdgasm is full of sweetness, sexiness, nerdiness and love.

"A nerdgasm! It's like having an orgasm from his nerdiness, which is fitting since it sounds like he's a nerdy wet dream."

Even though it took me some time to get and feel the connection between Theo and Addy, I got there eventually. But the way the characters and the story were built, just drew me in. Theo and Addy are wonderful, they both show in this short time great development. I fell for Theo, hard. He's incredibly cute and perfect boyfriend material.

"...between my pounding heart and the rustling of the wind around us, we're making our own melody, and it is the sweetest I've ever heard."

Kimberly found a great way to address sensitive topics and handles them beautifully and with care.
I really enjoyed reading it and I'll probably never look at an orange the same way ever again (Thank you Kimberly, for that one). :D

Nerdgasm by Kimberly Reese is a sweet, steamy and hilariously funny novella that readers will instantly fall head over heels in love with! This story captivated me in seconds and I found myself devouring it in one sitting because it was nearly impossible to put down. I seriously loved every single moment of it and my goodness this book was hot with a capital H-O-T!

Theo Cadwell, our leading man is an oh so adorable nerd that had me swooning right from page one. Oh and did I mention that he's a VIRGIN? OMG I think that fact alone made me all hot and bothered. There is just so much to love about this man and he is literally my ultimate book boyfriend! I am totally fangirling over Theo who proves that nerd is the new sexy!

Addison Mitchell, our leading lady is every guys wet dream and she's set her eyes on Theo, her nerdy TA. She's a sweet and caring girl who couldn't be more perfect for Theo. She's fierce, sassy and knows exactly what she wants. She doesn't care about his stutter and wiggles her way right into his heart!

These two couldn't be more perfect for each other and I've got to say the author did a phenomenal job developing their love story! I can't wait to see who's story comes next in the Naughty Nerds series!

Nerdgasm by Kimberly Reese is the story of Addison and Theo.
Theo dad left him at an early age and he also started to stutter around that time too. His mother was very caring and loving but of course school kids were not so nice. Theo did have a best who was always there for him. When he was around 15 he started to work on getting his stuttering under-control better. Now he only stutters when he is nervous and has worked his way up to be more confident. With that said he hasn't found a girlfriend yet until he meets Addison who is outspoken and beautiful. Addison is taken with him and forward in asking him out which starts their relationship.
This was actually a very sweet romance and one that I didn't put down until the end.

Bring on the nerds!!

Theo and Addy are such a cute couple. So different, but ultimately such a perfect match for each other.

I liked how Addy helped Theo grow as a person and that she accepted him for who he was as a person and loved him completely.

Theo was able to open up to Addy because of her giving nature and I like his friendship with Demi.

Theo and Addy's date at a local ComicCon was inspired and so unique. I couldn't get enough of this couple. I can't wait to see more of them in the next book in this series!!

Ended up not finishing this. It had a cute concept but there was like... copious amounts of "not like other girls" vibes and I just couldn't take it. We get it...you're hot and you like a nerd and you're okay with nerdy things and somehow that makes you better than every other girl who overlooked this nerdy guy who is hot and ripped yet ignored by the female populace. Okay...

This was one of those feel-good books that you read on a lazy day. Theo is the sexiest nerd I've ever came across in my readings. He has a swimmer's body and the cutest stutter ever! Addy balanced him out so well with her outgoing and sweet personality. I loved their chemistry from start to finish. I also loved that there was no question as to how either one felt about the other. There are some plots that need a bit of back and forth to balance out personalities or themes the author tries to convey, but this was not one of those plots. Addy and Theo's relationship was straight forward and progressive.

Cohen and Demi made wonderful supporting characters and it was good to see shy Theo find such a strong support system in them (notwithstanding Addy and Theo's mother are also a part of his support team).

I'd love to read more of this series when more books become available.

Ever since I read about this authors books I’ve wanted to read them and I finally managed to get around to Nerdgasm and boy, I’m super fucking glad I did.

Theo and Addy are freaking brilliant characters and I’m loving them so hard right now.

Theo didn’t have it easy growing up, being bullied because of a stutter had him shying away and keeping himself to himself with his best friend being the only exception. He’s smart, nerdy and handsome with a gorgeous bod hidden underneath his clothes *swoons*

Addy is a get to the point kinda girl, she knows what she wants and goes for it. She’s loud, pretty and lovely. Seeing her interact with the shy PA is fun. She’s exactly what he needs.

Theo and Addy’s relationship is super freaking adorable. Inexperience and shyness makes a lot of awkward moments in this book but it’s just perfect.

Kimberly Reese did an amazing job with this nerd, this is my first book by this author and certainly won’t be my last. She had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down. When a book does that for you, you know it’s a good one.

I thought this was a really cute, quick romance. I enjoyed the two (Yes, I have indeed forgotten their names) and found their relationship wrapped up in this book perfectly. Can I finally say, finally a hero who took up swimming. I feel like it is so hard to find heroes who don't play football or baseball or soccer. That being said, I love baseball, football, and soccer so I'm not complaining too much. Anyways, cute romance

The title was the hook.

Straight up. No lie.

I mean, upon seeing it how could one NOT be just a little curious and want to take a closer look and lemme tell you, I’m happy I did. Nerdgasm was all kinds of sweet, swoony, adorkable and smexy and I loved every word of it!

Theo is seriously adorkably smexy and has no clue which just ramps up his appeal. He’s intelligent, a little goofy and his this quiet confidence that exudes from him. He has his insecurities and yet he owns them in such a way that makes you admire him and all that he’s accomplished. Addison is a little spitfire. I mean this girl has moxie in spades and isn’t afraid to let her light shine. I loved how she could take charge and take what she wanted while not totally taking over a situation.

Their journey to their HEA is all kinds of sweet and smexy and I swear I was dopey smiling the entire time, with a couple of exceptions (of course). I loved how well they flowed together, their bantering was a lot of fun and loved how much they not only respected each other, but truly enjoyed being together. And then there is the smexy...they were simply HAWT together. There roadblock that appears in their journey wasn’t necessarily a surprise, but I found that I didn’t necessarily favor one over the other after it all went down. I did have a “Ooooohhhh” moment, but when the dust settled I felt for both of them. But the way things worked out, that was pretty awesome!

This is my first read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was hooked from the start and loved how everything progressed. The writing was engaging, pacing was good and the dual 1st person POV was done well. The secondary characters were all well written, Demi was all kinds of awesomeness and I really liked Cohen, so I’m hoping that we’ll be spending some time with both of them in the future.
