When 31-year-old Markos Turloch is murdered in a heinous manner by his boss, Bobbi Nox, as revenge for whistleblowing on his employer, he loses his humanity and is reincarnated as a diamond-like dungeon core in another world. After discovering and exploiting a dungeon-breaking cheat, Markos maxes out his dungeon level and begins to explore the world above his dungeon.

When his dungeon helper, Jessica, comes across a dying young man being sexually tormented by a female ogre, Markos' decision to save his life becomes the turning point in Markos' new existence. Upon learning the truth of this new world as one where females dominate in both numbers and social status, Markos settles on a new goal: to conquer the land of Enwald and reassert male dominance as its king!

Markos' first target of conquest is the Kingdom of Vessar, where his dungeon is located. Borrowing the body of Sibalt, the young man he saved, Markos journeys across the kingdom in search of information, allies, and companions to help achieve his goal to conquer the kingdom.

WARNING: This 93,000 words book contains profanities and numerous mature situations involving sex and violence. In particular, the opening chapter depicts the violent murder of the main character. Furthermore, there are numerous explicit sex scenes as well as the enslavement of the MC's enemies. Reader discretion is advised.

An interesting read

This Is more gamelit than litrpg ot has levels for the dungeon but no real limits the mc gets over powered way to fast and the leveling doesn't make much sense. Then there's the gender disparity it's one thing for the humanoids to be 4 to 1 but to have the animals as well would make it so there aren't many of them. Idk too many inconsistencies for me to bother picking up book 2 if it comes out. And dont get me started on the grammar and punctuation it's like the author just uploaded a rough draft.

Well, it's no Dungeon Born, that's for sure.

There are a lot of issues with this book, starting immediately with a real world prologue that has next to no barring on the rest of the story and just raises unnecessary questions that are never touched upon again.

Next is the fact that the 'leveling' mechanic and story line is completely broken, Markos reaches the max level cap extreamly early in the story, as well as gaining a source of near infinite mana before even running into a single antagonist. The result is an uninteresting stomp on anything he runs into right from the beginning.

Having every character explain to every other character that they are/work for Markos Turloch a reincarnated dungeon core. It's so GD repetitive and by the stories own logic Markos should be far more secretive than he is.

The distracting and out of place fet ish stuff. It's rare that a book handles this stuff well and this one isn't even close.

Extraordinarily bland characters. Everyone has roughly the same personality and the interpersonal conflict is almost non existent.

Women having a far higher birth rate than men would not cause an under population crisis. I'm not sure if Chow knows how these things work, but the higher your female to male ratio is the faster your population is likely to increase. It's strange, but this along with some other story elements makes it feel like he wrote out the whole story, then swapped all the genders..

Amazingly boring dungeon. We eventually get to see Markos' dungeon in action aaaaaand it's F***ing boring as F***. The thing is 99% simple traps that force the adventurers to move through it at a snails pace and the only lute they get is gold.

Give this one a pass. Even The Slime Dungeon is better.

It's like two separate books

Edit 9/2/18 - Cleaned up my voice-to-text mistakes.

My main problem with this book is that the first half felt completely different from the second half. The writing was different, the editing was far worse, and to be honest I didn't care for the second half of the story. The pacing felt off and it felt almost like a different writing style from the first half.

Another thing I noticed, and it definitely caused the book to lose some stars, were the numerous grammatical mistakes throughout. One of the biggest offenders was different tenses within the same sentence such as referring to something in the past tense as well as the present tense in a single line. Something I only saw in the second half of the book were some of the characters names being spelled wrong. I found more grammatical and spelling mistakes in the second half of the book than the first which again makes me feel like they were two separate books.

And again, the first half of the book was good and the second half didn't really do it for me. I forced myself through the second half so I could finish this and see how it ended up. I'm not disappointed with the story per se, I'm more disappointed with the writing style. The first half of the book felt like an intelligent adult with the writing knowledge of a middle schooler was writing the story. It was a little off, but it wasn't totally bad. The second half of the story really compounded the feeling that it was written by an intelligent adult but rather than a late middle school early High School writing style this was pure Middle School. It's almost like the writing style devolved once we get to the second half of the book.

Even if the grammatical and spelling mistakes were cleaned up, due to the writing style I could never give this 5 Stars. If there were no spelling mistakes I could possibly give it a 4, but again, the writing style in general kind of threw me off.

For what it's worth, Camille DuBois has a very sweet voice, great for books for children or childish/cute character. I can't wait till she narrates more books. And the fairy has a very cute personality, like making silly mistakes and hitting herself on the head.

Unfortunately, there's only so much a sweet cute voice can go... Some things are not salvageable.

It wasn't as bad as I feared, but it was a bit amateurish for my tastes. I'm not sure what was up with the main character, but if you don't like books where the main character has it out for all members of a particular sex, you might want to avoid this one. It isn't exactly extreme hatred, but it sure borders on the manic at times. Definitely not recommended for those who who take offense easily or even semi-easily. The main character sure is able to put aside his driving revenge when it suits his purposes, but at all other times, his single minded determination to make all females pay for his misfortune comes through bordering on the insane. It could be a bit disconcerting for some. Still, if you can ignore the subtext, it's a fairly decent story, not quite deserving of 3 stars, since it is a bit childish at times, but it's close enough that I have no issues letting it pass.

I liked it, but the main issue I had with the story was that the MC never explains how he knows about certain things, like Adventurers, Dark Elves or Waifus. Seriously, when bringing up new terms, all the MC would need to do is include a sentence saying how he knew about that term, but we get nothing.
The sex was well done, and by that I didn't feel like I had to skip it just to get back to the story (hell if I know why, just giving my personal reaction).
Also, despite this being listed as a dungeon core book, the major part of the book was not REALLY a dungeon core type of book. This doesn't annoy me personally too much but... eh.

Not bad

There are some large plot holes in it, and the writing isn't very sophisticated. There are some explicit scenes as a fair warning.

I think it is cool that he wants to take over a kingsom, however it is way too easy to meet a ten thousand year old warrior who just says, ok I'll just follow you and do what you say.
Overall, only 3 stars because I did enjoy it some, but the writing and plot was simply elementary.

Wonderful

An extremely interesting and fun read. The book did not go overboard with the intimate scenes and had an interesting world and story. I look forward to other titles by this author. The mc was extremely over powered but it went well with the story and I enjoy it when it is done well

Note: I listened to an audio version not currently listed on goodreads.com so I am placing my review here.

It has been a while since I listened to this book so this review will be lacking anything resembling a detail. What I remember about this book is that I enjoyed it and it was a good, straight-forward tale of a man from our world becoming a dungeon core.

Nothing here to really recommend.

This is a short but of fluff that has no real basis. The actions of everyone do not make sense, the world state is flimsy. The dungeon mechanics are ludicrous. The only thing keeping this from being one star is that it is a very quick read that has moments of entertainment. But this is no story.

Even for a power fantasy this is a bit much

There isn't really much of a story... Guy gets wronged by a woman, then lives out a misogynist power fantasy with zero opposition. No conflict, no character or world building... Just a few dungeon core stats thrown in arbitrarily. Even the smut parts are poorly done and unimaginative.

Interesting twist on the Dungeon genre as the MC is pretty lucky with his location providing plot armor to become OP, there are Gods but zero interference yet, and finally that the "actual" dungeon is tough but fairly weak by design.

Good Read.

A dungeon core story. A different kind of story from what I read with other stories. The dungeon has a mobile avatar that travels and does expands his coverage rather quickly. I liked the story and is interested in the next book.

Dungeon Core goes wild

It was an interesting take on dungeons. Never have I read a dungeon book obsessed with taking over the world before. Well paced, decent length. Could have used a bit more action though.

Quick read when bored.

It's a good story but it felt like it was rushed. The characters development weren't properly developed. For a dungeon it's floors were clears too easy even if it was one party that entered. Needs work on making a better system for the level management.

Good idea, needs work

Plastc gloves? Yeah, sure? Just a few examples of things that don't fit in this story. The female witch name was spelled at least three different ways. I like the general idea of the story though.

Bad start.

First chapter felt unfinished, full of cliché situations and the transition from dead to reincarnation felt so weird, will try to finish reading the book and update my rewiev.
Update: finished the book, the story was good but felt rushed, needed more details or more encounters, but would consider buying book 2.
