A new evil lurks in the darkness.

After an explosion, the crew of a battlecruiser mysteriously disappears.

Bailey and Lewis, complete strangers, find themselves suddenly onboard the damaged ship. Lewis hasn’t worked a case in years, not since the final one broke his spirit and his bank account. The last thing Bailey remembers is preparing to take down a fugitive on Onyx Station.

Mysteries are harder to solve when there’s no evidence left behind.

Bailey and Lewis don’t know how they got onboard Ricky Bobby or why. However, they quickly learn that whatever was responsible for the explosion and disappearance of the crew is still on the ship.

Monsters are real and what this one can do changes everything.

The new team bands together to discover what happened and how to fight the monster lurking in the bottom of the battlecruiser.

Will they find the missing crew? Or will the monster end them all?

Experience this exciting mystery sci-fi saga and the latest addition to the expanded Kurtherian Gambit Universe. If you’re a fan of Dark Matter, Alter Carbon, or Star Wars, you’ll love this riveting new space opera.

I loved this expansion of the Ghost Squadron world and the inclusion of Julianne's first AI, Ricky Bobby, further integrates the stories. This is an excellent great start to the series, a mix of mystery, tech and action. Bailey (pilot) and Lewis (detective) are a great combination, complimenting each other well and you soon become invested in them solving the mystery and rescuing the crew. Can not wait for the next book in the series

Must read for anyone who enjoyed Ghost Squadron.

This book could actually be called "Ghost Squadron 2.0 as the two main characters are looking for the missing crew from "Ricky Bobby" who disappeared under unusual circumstances. Bailey is a young fighter pilot who has no practical experience but won't let that get in her way. Lewis is a detective who no longer works as a detective for unknown reasons. Both characters are well written and make you feel like you are right there with them.

“Death” by database - yep, it’s a thing

I’m sitting here still laughing after finishing the book and reading the author notes. Why? Because Sarah Noffke made good on her threat from the Facebook group - and did so brilliantly.

Grab a copy of the book, something to drink, and your favorite snack, and get ready for a wild and adventurous ride. In fact, you might as well grab book 2 (Investigation) while you’re at it; it’ll save you the time of having to do it later, when you just want to keep reading to find out what happens next.

Glad to see part of the crew again

I like the way this new series took off with disappearing most of the crew. The new guys are just as fun as the old crew and I hope once everyone is found they get to stay. I enjoy Bailey's excitement in each mission and how she interacts with Lewis. Can't wait to read the next book.

A nice start

As a beginning of a new series its very brave to lol off ninety percent of the characters from the previous series.
I liked how the story had a different flavour from the ghost books.
I look forward to more

Well Done

Well this was a rather enjoyable story and it is nice to see that the detective compliments Bailey. So we won't be having to suffer any grandstanding drunk running rampant trying to upstage everyone. I thought this first book set up the new series beautifully. Looking forward to book 2.

Summary:

This book started with a bang with the disappearance of the crew of the Ricky Bobby leaving the reader to wonder what was going on. In other parts of the galaxy Lewis was working on a farm and Bailey was struggling to become a pilot that is until they both disappeared without a trace materializing on a space ship, the Ricky Bobby. You see Chief Strategist for Ghost Squadron Jack Renfro was planet side when his crew went missing and he is determined to recruit the best person for the job and that would be ex-detective Lewis his nephew. Now Hatch the group scientist choose Bailey because her strength and determination reminds him of Ricky Bobby’s commander Juliana. They will need that dedication and drive if they will have a chance to succeed in finding the crew. But before that they have to find out who is behind the abduction and how they created the monster that Hatch managed to capture in the bowels of their ship. This is a dangerous mission and one that Bailey and Lewis take on gaining both allies and enemies along the way.

This was an action packed story form the very start and I for one can’t wait to see what happens next.

I was so impressed by this book.

From the first page, I immediately connected with the characters and, when Lance and Bailey partnered to help find the crew of the Ghost Squadron, it was as if something immediately clicked.

I was over the moon to have Jack, Hatch, and Liesal (plus her awesome ferret), in this series, too, and DJ was a real bonus to the crew.

I love the plotline, and can't wait to see what our Hardy bunch are going to find in this new Galaxy.

I've loved other Sarah Noffke books before this one, but I consider this to be just as fun, entertaining, and full of twists and turns, as her previous stuff, so know I'm in for a great time reading the rest of this new, to me, series.

I loved that, on looking at my reading list, I've got all four of the books in this series, one after the other, with no breaks for different series between them. This means that I can totally soak myself within the storylines for a change, and that will be such a pleasure!

So, it's off to book two: Investigation, next!

Glad to be back!

Was saddened when the Ghost Squadron ended. But, although most of the crew is gone for now, at least getting more of Hatch, Ricky Bobby, Jack, Leslie, and, especially, Pip! When I first started, I have to admit, I had missed feelings about the others that were gone, but it wasn't long before I was drawn into the action and adventure. The addition of the 12 yr old DJ was inspired! I just know she is going to be a great addition to the new Ghost Squadron, and was happy to see a continuation of the train of picking up new members where you least expect it. Keep up the good work! Should have had faith that Sarah only writes winners and that Michael seems to only work with the best!

Fun Story very poor physics for a science fiction book

If you know anything about astronomy or physics leave it at home. The authors didn't try to make the physics real.

It used to be that in science fiction books you could count on the things you know about being portayed correctly. Apparently that is not necessary anymore for people to read books.

In one scene there is an artificial sun that is not putting out light so it needs to be fixed. It is said that because it is not putting out light that the tides of the planet are affected. Tides have nothing to do with light!

That said, it is a fun story. I wish the authors had actually asked someone to help them make the physics right.

Precious Galaxy

I’m not a big fan of cliff hanger endings. But I’m a fan of the original Ghost Squadron series so I’ll hang in there to see how the rescue and recovery of the crew progresses. But I hope that this particular objective isn’t stretched out to create a multiple book series of the newest members of the team.

Great start to a new series. Ghost Squadron has disappeared and the AI Ricky Bobby needs help. Hatch has trapped the monster in the hold but doesn't know how long he can hold it. They need a pilot and a detective to solve this mystery and find the entire crew. So, they "steal" Bailey and Lewis and the hunt begins. What they are up against is anyone's guess. Looking forward to the next book!

New Ghost Squadron series

The next step in the Ghost Squadron series. Ricky Bobby passes through a monster storm and most of his crew disappear. New crew member are bought on board by Hatch. The monster is still on board and we follow the first adventure to the Precious Galaxy. The new crew members fit in nicely and you will not be disappointed in this new journey.

So many new concepts!

Excellent mystery, with awesome tech and an interesting rescuee. I'm sure there are clues for future books in the series I've missed and will go, "Aha..." at a future time. Definitely a good read!

Wonderful story

Kept my attention throughout the story. Love that Hatch was spared to help with the newbies. The new team of Bailey and Lewis is great and they play off of each that well. Love the extra they picked up.

Wow

It was a shock at first when the crew disappeared then you had two random people disappear only to end up on Ricky Bobby to help find the missing crew. Read to find out not only who these two people are but what happens as they look for the missing!!

Great read, though there were quite a few things, that should have been corrected during proofreading, I was in no way disappointed with the story, just thought it would be worth mentioning.

Amazing

The prologue blew me away and it just kept getting better and better. Disappearing the entire crew of one of the most famous series in the KGU was a startling ambitious way to begin a new series.

Yay for a new series

I have a feeling I'm in for another great ride in The Precious Galaxy. One of the heroes is a 12 year old girl no less. Introducing new characters with existing ones can't be easy but Sarah and Michael have made it seamless. I am so along for the ride.
