Climbing Off the Couch

Rate this book
From the hit blog The Fat Girl Running…

Climbing Off the Couch is my journey of taking back the “F” word. You know the one. That dreaded word everyone is afraid to say out loud.

FAT.

I put down the Skittles, got off the couch, and embarked on the running experiment of a lifetime. In this collection of blogs, nothing is off the table. From underwear woes to body issues, food and recipes to common tips and tricks, to loss and relationship advice…it’s all there, part of the journey.

I am Kristann Monaghan. I am The Fat Girl Running. And I didn’t die today.

I found this book and bought it on a whim looking for some motivation. At the time I didn't realize it was a blog turned into a book. It was humorous and enjoyable but just wasn't what I was looking for or what I expected and I kept finding myself putting it down to read something else, but I wanted to finish it, so I did.

I read this book many years ago, and getting in my physical hands a newly released, with the prettiest cover, version of this, and re-reading it has been fantastic. Reading it the second time around was just as loving, hilarious and honest as when I read it first.

Kristann's novel is the heart felt truth of her journey to get her flass off the couch and to live a healthier version of her life. There is no sugar coating thoughts, and if you need inspiration and motivation to get moving this is it. Being real about ourselves, and knowing "we didn't die today" is going to have you buckled over in laughter.

GO READ!

This was my first book by Kristan Monaghan and it was a pleasure to read her words. Not only did she incite humor, but also the ability to embrace one's self. Her stories of each day running are realistic with funny commentary, her views on her trials and triumphs are uplifting, and she motivates without preaching. Fun, light-hearted and inspirational.

Oh My God! I am obsessed with KRISTANN. I met her at Book Bonanza before even reading her books and she was soooo coool! However, after reading her book I love her even more because she had me laughing the entire time and taking screenshots to send to my friends. I loved this book!
