Las Vegas Villains was owned and managed by Luca Tarantino. His Eldest son, Milo Tarantino, an offensive football player was groomed to head the franchise once he's done playing. But his playing time cut short after an accident in the field left him injured. What frustrated him the most is that it's not a "real accident" but a deliberate one that involves his father.
Izzie Phillips is a young, sexy, sassy daughter of a politician from Illinois, been staying in Las Vegas for the past ten years. She tends to get attracted to rich and older men. A gold-digger as other may see it and doesn't surprise anyone when she got involved with Luca Tarantino, much to the dismay of his son Milo who felt something when he first met Izzie.
After Luca went into hiding, Milo hires a private investigator to tailed Izzie for she's the only link that will lead to the whereabouts of his father, or so he thought.
"It's safe to drop that mission now, Milo. I am out of Luca's life. He hasn't phoned or emailed or sent a message by pigeon."In The Hook we got to know the backstory of Izzie, why she left her opulent lifestyle in Illinois and be on her own in Las Vegas. There's that dark part of her life caused by people whom she thought love and care for her. I really like the scene where feisty Izzie stand her ground to them. Milo, on the other hand, knows the odds of getting back to the game is very slim but he continues to train. And then, reality came crashing down when no one wants to hire him as a player. But an offer came from someone whom he less expected it. Will he accept?
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading it. The plot is well-written with rich characters that will intrigue you. Let's not forget the romance between Milo and Izzie it's sizzling! I highly recommend this latest book by Ms. Westbrook.
