Rate this book
When the CO-D4 virus rages across the globe, it not only leaves behind death and destruction, it creates three types of survivors. Those who want to see the infected die, those who want to help the sick, and those who want humanity to rise above it all. In the wake of his friend and colleague’s rectification, Doctor James Ung is one of those who wants the best of humanity. His struggle to help others becomes increasingly difficult by the day as the rate of infected grows. Major Tom Leland wants to kill all those with CO-D4 until he meets June Mannis. Her death opens his eyes to it all and he begins to see the virus differently. He forms an unlikely friendship with James Ung. The two of them fight to keep humanity together while not letting June Mannis’ work be in vain. The untested cure is on the horizon. Will mankind be able to hold on that long? If that is, the cure actually works.

I think I love Major Tom. I hope there is more to this story. I love the take on the vaccine and the cure.
So much action and a great story! Druga is climbing to the tops of my favorites list really quickly.
Great writer and narrator team! Druga brings nonstop action and Wehrlen brings the voice!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I liked that this book included both new and old characters. In the last book I wanted more from Major Tom's POV and this story definitely delivered that.

The pacing was good and there was enough action and new developments that I was kept curious right until the end.

The characters were likeable and I really felt their exhaustion and their desperation. The ending was a surprise for me because there was a plot twist and now I don't know what to expect.

Although this was a short read, I did enjoy everything it had to offer. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

In my opinion, arguably this second installment was better than the first and more squarely a zombie tale - albeit built on the solid foundation of Rectify 1. There were blessedly few editorial issues and at least not enough to distract from the reading experience. As a caution, this is probably not an ideal read for those who are fearful or mistrustful of government lead vaccination efforts (unless you like to squirm a lot).

Great work

Miss Druga has done it again. A new world ,new people, and a story line that works for me. She has crafted a really good series ,the novellas are short and sweet , well worth the short time to read........Keep them coming.

Seeing as this is two novellas together, I don't want to say too much about the plot because I'll spoil it!! The first novella is about Dr June Mannis and takes place a few years after the first outbreak. Not much is known about CO-D4 other than people die, and reawaken changed. They call them Cody's. It took them years, but mankind believe they have they outbreak handled and are curtailing the spread. There doesn't seem to be a cure, so it's become law to Rectify (kill) any one affected. Dr Mannis believes that they people infected can retain some of their humanity and there's hope for them. In the second novella, it's a continuation of the first but the MC is Dr James Ung, a friend and college of Dr Mannis. I'm not going to get into the plot of that one because it will spoil the first!!

I'm glad these were bundled together because they were so short! The plot is fast paced and flows nicely. With it being so short I was afraid in case either plot development or character development suffered, but it didn't. All the characters were well written and developed and it was easy to become invested in their story. I really liked both Dr Mannis and Dr. Ung. The plot was unique and intriguing. I liked the spin the author put on the typical zombies. After the ending, I'm really looking forward to the next one to see where the story goes.

Andrew B. Wehrlen reads this well. He is clear and easy to follow and has plenty of tones and voices for the different characters. I always enjoy his performance and this was no different.

Can't wait for #3!

I highly recommend this series. Yes it's a zombie book and yes there are tons of zombies. But it's much more than that. I won't give anything away but it's a twist on the stereotypical creatures. The characters are real. The author has a way of taking us through and experiencing the heartbreaking scenes without letting us wallow in it. Without even realizing it, this is fast paced book. It flows so naturally you don't realize you're at the end of the book until you're on the last page. And you definitely want more.

Why can’t this get proofread?

I have to admit, the story here is pretty interesting. But the awful editing makes it almost unbearable to read. I keep pushing through because I want to know what happens, but I find myself re-reading sections so often because the grammar and spelling is so atrocious.

Good read

Enjoyed story and would like to read more. Liked that there was a possibility of a cure and curious about how it affects the characters.
