Jack Miller's life is irrelevant and boring, and now, his father just passed away. A father he never shared much with. But Jack's mundane life is turned upside-down when a written note sends him on an intense hunt toward the eastern part of Long Island. A hunt that requires he make several important choices along the way.
Employing the help of his estranged brother, Jack finds them digging up facts about their father that they never knew existed. With every notable stop along the way, they get closer to figuring out what made their father such a puzzling character. Overcoming their own strained relationship is only part of the journey as these two brothers try to shake off strange, aggressive pursuers while, at the same time, fulfilling their father’s last wish.
With each clue they find and with each startling discovery they make, they further unmask the truth about who their father really was… whether they like it or not.

You guys. This is a really cool book. Do yourself a favor, head on over to Amazon, and grab a copy. It's a fast paced high stakes mystery thriller. The story is insanely well thought out and will literally keep you on your toes guessing til the very end.
Jack Miller's dad is dead. He's not really feeling too sad about it, He's saving the pity for himself, and his sad, boring life. But things are about to get WAY more interesting. Within days of his father's death, a single note upends everything he knows, and sends him (with an estranged brother - Jack's got some serious family issues) on a whirlwind adventure to discover the father they knew and resented most of their lives, just might not be who they had always assumed him to be.
While on their hunt, Jack and Joe unearth a gripping story of spies, deceit and murder. The story flows really smoothly, as their search for answers intensifies and the clues unravel - shocking you at every turn.
I really enjoyed this story and was really impressed with the clever twists and turns intertwined throughout. My only hope is that Jay is writing another (hopefully subsequent!) novel, so I can be pleasantly thrilled one more time.
I have to confess that I know this author, have known him since he was a boy. I always knew he could write as I have been privileged to have read some of his work before this book. Am I prejudiced, perhaps, but I will try to be objective and offer helpful information.
I could visualize the characters, even recognizing some things that were written. There was a familiarity here and there. The characters were well defined and believable, the description of the area came to life. Without giving the story away, which is something I try never to do, I have to say this is a good read. Will there be a sequel, I hope so. Needless to say, I recommend this book. I hope this is an author we will read for a long time to come. Good job.
If your looking for an awesome mystery book look no further than Bury Me In Montauk! Jay Dowski sets you up and knocks you down with this dark thriller about reunited brothers desperately trying to find closure in their fathers death (and life). Two thumbs up!
This is a whirlwind of a thriller. The chase is on right from the start, which is an incredible surprise to the main character, Jack Miller. Jack is content just getting by in life. A life which changes in a moment for Jack while he is out doing his job delivering flowers.
Bury Me In Montauk is Jack’s dad’s final wish. Jack is tasked with carrying this out. For some reason Jack is being chased while trying to do this.
The books locations are all real. This makes the book more interesting since it is geographically driven. The reader learns real facts about the whole area the characters are in.
This is more than just a thriller. The reader also goes on an emotional journey with Jack. I haven’t come across many books with this added element which is very engrossing. It’s more than what happens to Jack Miller. His personal journey as he gets through these events is a major part of this book.
The main characters are well defined. Others you find out what you need to when you need it. The suspenseful action doesn’t stop.
I loved this book. It is an entertaining page turner and an easy read. It has a complex plot that keeps you guessing with an awesome ending. One of those you never forget.
Favorite quote from this book: “Your life is your life. May it be a masterpiece of experience and nothing else.” This quote sums up this book so well.
