Undeniable by Violetta Rand is book Two in the Highlands Forever series. This is the story of Jamie MacKay and Helen Sutherland. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
Helen father has engaged her to a man who is said to have killed previous wife. This is the last straw with her father and she runs to her best friend who just has married the Laird of the MacKay clan. There she also meets Jamie who there is an immediate attraction too that they can't fight. Jamie just got back his old family home and want to make it his fully and start a new McKay clan. But now meeting Jamie he wants to help protect her too.
Really enjoyed their story...it is one that you won't be able to put down!

Undeniable is the second book in the Highlands Forever series by Violetta Rand. I haven't read the first book but I didn't feel as if I was missing any vital information from that book in order to fully enjoy this second one.

Lady Helen Sutherland has run away from home because her father has arranged a marriage for her with a man who is rumoured to have killed his previous wives and who is just a very nasty man. She runs to her best friend who is married to the Laird of the MacKay clan. She needs to be with friends who care for her and to find sanctuary from her father and betrothed.

One of the first people she encounters when she is there is Jamie MacKay. He is the Laird's brother and he is instantly attracted to her when he sees her. Jamie has been given his ancestral home and could easily become a laird in his own right, but his fealty is to his brother and until the time is right he doesn't want to broach the subject of becoming the laird of a new branch of the MacKays. There are more important things to worry about such as keeping Helen safe and helping protect the keep. Once Helen's father finds out where she is he is bound to send men to force her to return.

During the time that she is with them Helen and Jamie form a very strong bond, in fact, it is impossible for them to keep their hands off each other. How can they be together properly with the constant threat of her being snatched away? Jamie and his family must do everything in their power to stop that from happening.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jamie and Helen's story. The lust and love between them were almost palpable. They are so obviously soulmates and the thought of them being separated kept me reading late into the night to find out how the clan would deal with Helen's father and betrothed. I wanted to read that they had their happily ever after ending and was more than satisfied with the way the author concluded the story. I must warn readers though that you won't want to be squeamish when it comes to the climax of the battle for Helen's safety. I can't say I've ever read a scene like that before. It was awesome and shocking at the same time...I loved it.

Was there anything I didn't like about this book? Nothing at all. I definitely recommend it and will be reading the other books in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

(Highlands Forever Book 2)

Jamie MacKay has always served as the right hand man to the Laird of the MacKay's. He's finally possesses his ancestral home and has his own plans for the future, including the ambition to start a new branch of the MacKays.

Lady Helen Sutherland has always done everything she could to please her father and honor her family name. But when he forces her into a betrothal with a man who is a known murderer, she decides enough is enough and flees.

Helen runs to the one place she Hope's she'll find sanctuary and the love of her best friend, but there's never anywhere safe enough away from the worst kind of threat and that is the threat of her father, the Earl of Sutherland. She knows he will use his influence and power to get her back. She then meets the red headed warrior the night she arrives in the MacKay hall and realizes no man has ever looked at her the way Jamie Mackay does. It's like he can see right through to her soul and she has never felt this way about any man.

Will Helen fall in love with Jamie only to be ripped away or will they fight for true love and everything it stands for?

This is the first book I have read from Violetta Rand and I can honestly say that it will not be the last. Ms. Rand blends the rich histories of Constaninpole and Scotland and brings them both together for an unforgettable historical romance that even the toughest critic will warm too.

4.5 Stars - This is Book 2 in the series. It is Jamie MacKay and Helen Sutherland's story. Jamie had been in Constantinople basically liquidating his cousin's assets there. His cousin is Laird Alex MacKay and he is the hero from book 1. Jamie is his right hand man/Captain. Jaime is not one to settle down. Many women would like for this flaming red haired Highland warrior to keep for themselves. He is just not the type. Before he leaves Constantinople, a witch approaches him and tells him two things about his future. Could this be true? If so, Jaine's life could change. Now home he is given a strict order to stay away from lass.

Helen Sutherland has fled her Father's Castle. She's fled to the MacKay's in the hopes they will allow her Sanctuary, for she has dishonored her sire. Her sire and the McKay's our sworn enemies. She has no other place to go and she hopes the MacKays will allow her to remain there. While she is waiting inside their keep, she glances over to see the most incredibly handsome redheaded Highlander. One she has never seen before, because she is sure she would remember him... most definitely.

I really enjoyed this author's storyline. It kept me engaged from the very beginning. One of the things I really enjoyed is Jamie's real sense of humor throughout the story and his banter with his cousin. I did want the hero and heroine to have more interaction with Ramsey more towards the end. That was the only thing missing for me.

I look forward to the next book in the series. Hopefully, it will be even better and out soon.

Jamie MacKay has always served as the right hand of Laird of the MacKay. He has been granted his family castle and ancestral home again, but when to ask and tell Laird MacKay his ambition is to start a new branch of the MacKay’s. Lady Helen Sutherland’s father has betrothed her to a known murder so now she’s run away to the Mackay’s to find sanctuary and the love of a best friend and away from the worst kind of threat and that is the threat of her father, the Earl of Sutherland.
Jaime and Helen are immediately attracted to one another, even the Alex, Laird MacKay notices and warns him away from Helen. For Helen no man has ever looked at her the way Jaime does, no one has ever made her fell the way he does. Jaime soon realizes he wants Helen, to build his own family and start a new Clan MacKay. Will their new love be ripped apart or will they be strong enough to stand strong and fight for their love and their future? A captivating tale of a daughter defying her father and finding her heart’s desire in one bold action her entire world is torn up side down as she meets Jaimie MacKay her one true love. The handsome sexy Highland who soon holds her heart and future, will Helen and Jaime have the strength and courage to fight for it what they want. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

Undeniably a great read!! Jamie MacKay, the right hand man to Alex, Laird of the MacKays (who was the hero in the first story in this series), comes back home after being in Istanbul. He has been given his family castle and ancestral home and has been encouraged to begin a new branch of the MacKay clan. But meanwhile a distraction by the name of Lady Helen Sutherland arrives at the the keep to take sanctuary with her best friend and wife of Alex. Her father is trying to marry her off to an awful man who has had three wives and whispered that he killed them.
As she and Jamie come into contact they both feel an attraction spark between them that is hard to ignore. Of course everyone is on the lookout to make sure no men are sent to drag Helen back to her father and make her marry as he intended.
There are many twist and turns and a lot of fighting that bring this exciting story along. But as with the first book in this series, Violetta Rand pulls you into the story and does not leg go until the end. I cannot wait until the next installment in the Highlands Forever series, but know this book can be read as a standalone..

This is book 2 in “Highlands Forever” series the story revolves around Jamie MacKay and Helen Sutherland. Helen has run to the MacKay clan for protection from her father who has betrothed her to Laird Baran Munroe a truly fowl man who has as rumors go murdered one or two of his previous wife’s. Jamie has just returned from a journey to Constantinople, while there he is confronted by a woman named Nudar, she tells him one day he would meet the love of his life, and become the leader of a new people and land. When he meets Helen he is of course smitten, and can’t get her out of his mind. Helen is cautious around the handsome highlander with the flaming red hair. The story has a lot to keep your interest I really enjoyed reading it; they have a lot to get through before they can truly be together but love prevails for this very likeable couple. There are characters from the first book in the series Alex and Keely who play a big part in this the second novel, I really it when you can see how their life’s are all interwoven. So I hope you enjoy Jamie and Helens story as much as I did. Violetta Rand thank you and you have a new fan in me.

Great story! Jaime is the right hand man and cousin to the clan’s Laird. He has traveled the world, seen much, loved many women, and has a reputation as a fierce warrior. While staying at his cousin’s a beautiful young woman, Lady Helen, daughter of an English border lord, comes to the clan for sanctuary, as she is a longtime friend of the Laird’s wife. She seeks to escape a forced marriage to an enemy Laird known for killing wives who have displeased him.
Helen is beautiful, but is she off limits to Jaime? She is a lady after all, and he’s a warrior, but he could be more....
This is part of a terrific series, although a stand alone novel, that involves a group of characters who are clan members, family, friends, and enemies. This particular tale is filled with heat between the H and h, danger, and a bit of intrigue as well.
It was completely entertaining and I read it from start to finish and am looking forward to the next! I highly recommend this book to readers of historical romance who enjoy their hot Scottish highlanders!

Jamie MacKay has just settled his Laird's affairs in Istanbul, and is on his way home to the highlands. He has thoroughly enjoyed all the benefits of the mysterious land, but longs for home.
Helen Sutherland has run away from home. Her father is trying to make her marry a monster. There is only one place she can run to, the home of the only friend she has.
Our heroine is risking many lives by hiding from her father.
There is an uneasy peace between the clans involved but that can easily be broken.
Our hero is settled as his cousin's right hand man, but that doesn't stop him from defying him occasionally.
A lovely highland romance with characters that are easy to love. Quite a few surprises for them and us. This is part of a series that follows each book, but you can easily read it as on it's own. I think I see where the series is going next and can't wait to read more.

What a delight to read! I love feisty highland women thrown in with an alpha highlander as her main male character, especially one who is arrogant and overly self assured. Sometimes it takes a good woman to bring a man to his to his knees, or his senses. Violetta Rand writes in a way that has you laughing out loud and enjoying the verbal sparing between her characters. Book 2 can easily be a standalone book of hot, highland romance, but also, it takes up almost exactly where book 1 leaves you. You really need to read it to find out how a shy, quiet girl becomes a spitfire of a woman, bold in every way, learning to manage men. The characters are very well developed and likeable, the storyline has some unexpected twists and turns, and the excitement keeps you turning page after page. I can’t wait to read the next one, the anticipation is killing me.

Very enjoyable right from the start. I liked the way the author started the book in Constantinople. I enjoyed the closeness of the cousins and the clan members, and how Jamie and Helen had a lot of time to spend together and weren't kept apart for most of the book.

I guess it could have had a little more action in it for me. I thought more troubles would pop up as things went along. Sure there was the trouble with the Laird that Helen was supposed to marry, and the trouble with her father, but I expected more tension.

The story is also different because Alex, Jamie's cousin and Alex himself spent a lot of time in Constantinople and brought a few people home with them. It just gave the story a different take; a different feel than your average Highland story. I have not read the first book in this series because I have just heard of this author recently but I will now.

Having returned from Istanbul, Jamie is a bit curious and somewhat smitten, until he realizes she is a Sutherland. As they spend time together, Jamie and Helen find it very enjoyable, and begin to fall in love. Unfortunately, her proposed betrothed and her father are plotting. Fighting through each obstacle in their way, Helen and Jamie eventually find their way to each other and to love.

Helen Sutherland needed help, quickly. Her father wanted her to marry a man who had killed his first two wives. She ran from her father to the only friend she had, Keely MacKay. Here she will find another soul who shares her torture. Jamie MacKay has returned from Constantinople with enough cash to start another clan, but he fears his brother will not agree with his plans. These two, Helen and Jamie, find love and a future with each other. Ms. Rand tells a wonderful story of love, treachery, and redemption.

Amazing Highlander story !!!

I truly loved this second book in Violetta Rand's, Highlands Forever series. You can read this as a stand alone. But reading in order makes the story that much more enjoyable. Wonderful

I was excited to read Jamie's story. Helen escapes her father, Laird Sutherland, and the unwanted marriage he has arranged for her. Helen flees to her friend, Keely from book one, and asks for sanctuary. Jaime becomes her protector and loses his heart to her. This book was wonderful. It can be read alone, but even better as a series. I look forward to the next book in the series. Violetta is talented and always holds my attention.

When Keeley MacKay ran away it was to Helen Sutherland's father's keep, now the MacKays are giving Helen santuary. Her father has agreed to marry her to an evil Laird that has killed his last 2 wives. Jamie is Laird Alex's second in command, his most trusted Captain. When Jamie sees Helen, he is enthralled.
Well defined characters, plenty of action, and romance create a terrific book that will pull you into the Highlands.

Undeniable

Helen fled from her sire The Earl of Sutherland and Dunrobin Castle. She was to marry Laird Baron Monroe a murderer of a few wives he’d had because they didn’t give him sons. Helen ran to the MacKay clan. There she was safe. Later she and Jamie married with Laird Alex’s blessings. Sutherland wanted revenge. As he caused havoc to distract the village he got to Helen. Saved by her husband’s captain, his right hand man and his best friend. All went back to normal.

A very powerful historical romance!

I have read both Book 1 and Book 2 of this series, and just can't wait for the next one. The author Miss Rand has powerfully told us beautiful love stories between young people from rivalry clans and even from different cultures. The conflicts and attractions are what make this series so exciting. I would recommend this book.

Because it drags, just a little, 3-1/2 stars.

But still worth the read. The instant attraction between Helen and Jamie takes time to gel which makes it more believable. I really liked watching Helen evolve from mouse to fierce lioness.

Meh

Not great but not bad either. This story is Kai and Miran. Two ppl who pretend they’re not in love with each and bicker like lusty children. My problem was that it was short and therefore the story didn’t evolve as much as it could have. Still worth a read.

Good love story; too short

It was a great follow up to book one. Very fast paced. I think it was a lot of money to pay for less than 150 pages.
