Arcanum is a lost cache of esoteric wisdom guarded by a prehistoric secret brotherhood that besides holding dangerous information on disciplines ranging from metaphysical science, alchemy, advanced microbiology, anthropology and exhaustive cosmogony had known to contain, amongst many other, mankind's greatest untold truth about his origin. It's the subject of one of history's intriguing mysteries that was lost to time. But now, the hunt to unearth that cache of lost esoteric wisdom has begun once more. On the verge of solving series of gruesome murders, CBI officer, Jake Stevens, is pulled from the investigation. Intrigued, Jake seek answers and eventually stumbles upon a link that connects his long dead father and the murders to a secret - The Lost Arcanum. The link - a meticulously crafted cipher propels Jake through labyrinth of ancient secrets, hidden history and unseen truths scattered across the mysterious landscape of India, drawing him closer to a devastating secret buried since the beginning of time. With an unexpected company of Taneez - a historian, entangled in a treacherous chase with a professional killer and covert organization, Jake find himself on a deadly collision course with forces of vengeance, greed, power and the lost history itself.
History has always been my favorite subject. It intrigues me, unlike the science. Spirituality is another of my interest areas and a riveting topic to dwell upon. And thriller is the genre I absolutely love like a mad woman. This book, to my expectations, had everything and all I can say for this is - Majestic!
Once you pick up this book, there won't be any turning back. It is actually a page-turner plot that compels you to flip through the pages and widen your pupils. Damn! the narrative is wonderful. I am amazed by the storytelling of the author who incorporated alchemy, spirituality, history, anthropology, evolution, science and history, altogether in a single voluminous book. It is a feast for an ardent lover of books and a prized possession for a bibliophile. The sinister deeds to bury a devastating secret have pulled the show. And more than that, the secret itself is a gift if you could drag yourself through this thick book. I am sure it is going to be a super amazing ride.
The lucidity of language and the uniform pace of the events render it intriguing. The book is filled with dollops of baffling revelations and discoveries. They are jaw-dropping, yes they are! I mean have you ever wondered about our existence? This book promises to deliver you a truth that would shake your belief in religion and your very own existence. The knowledge of an esoteric race who are described to be the antecedents of us, the homo-sapiens, will blow your mind. Well, I a not going to play a spoilsport. You must check the whole fantastic story for yourself.
What I would say is the character development is very methodical. The whole story is neat and one would love to pore over the pages time and again. The amount of wisdom it proffers is immense. I didn't have the slightest clue that the lost arcane knowledge would be so thrilling. The cover is an absolute love and man, the thickness of the book is tempting. And if not any of these, just start reading and the sequence of events will pique your interest. The science behind Alchemy caught me off guard. I was totally swept off by my feet. The author has described each and every situation and place with ardor and this reflected in the way I could connect with them.
The mind has the potential to alter matter.
I am deeply moved by the information provided in the book. It enriched my reading experience. I felt satisfied after finishing this book. To be honest, the concepts brought forth in the book are unique and I totally appreciate the author for his commendable job in penning down The Lost Arcanum.
However, a round of editing is needed because a few typos were noticeable. The quality of content must be complemented by the rich printing as well. Otherwise, the book is lovely.
Folks! Go for the book even if mystery, history, and thriller is not niche. I am sure that you would thank me for recommending this one! Looking forward to reading more from the author.
What on earth have I read? I mean, Man, this book it just outstanding! An incredible work which will literally kick your brain open and enlighten you with its facts. A book which will actually make you think. A touch of Dan Brown.
The start of the story itself will make you conscious about what the plot is up to. It first will look like a subplot standing out of the main plot, but with the course of the tale, both the plots blend up eventually well. To pull out the essence of the tale as in one-liner, we can plainly say it’s a treasure hunt and the treasure is something called ‘The lost Arcanum” – which withholds the secret of our origin.
Jake Stephens is our protagonist who takes up the treasure hunt, without aware of the treasure he is seeking, through the riddles structured by his father, George Stephens. Jack strongly believes that ‘The lost Arcanum’ is something immensely great because few have chosen to give up their lives, including his father, rather revealing the secret.
We may assume that the real twist of the tale is when Jake finds that his father and his companions have been murdered in order to keep the secret unrevealed. But the author actually fools us here, as the book is completely packed with uncountable twists and turns, till the turn of the last page. The readers will be curious to know how the past events will be explained and the suspense of what will happen to the main characters is held till the end.
Anyone can enjoy the adventure taken by Jake. The narration and the plot keep us engaged to the tale from the very start to the end. I wish it has been a never-ending adventure.
With each puzzle solved, we will get the knowledge by some astonishing facts, bewildering us. The use of diagrams, symbols in the plot have added to the credits and yes, symbols play an important role. And I personally advice the readers to keenly observe the moves of each character, which will make you enjoy the tale to the fullest with each turn. The book has got something to point about everything which has made it mind-blowing.
The way how the author relates and connects the fact to the fiction is remarkable and brilliant. Deep beneath the plot, hidden are the simple truths like how humans are being selfish, the root of our origin, the greatness of our country and the past generations, how we blindly believe religion when it’s not created by Almighty and something more.
‘The Lost Arcanum’ is a book which prefers reaching your mind to heart. This is a book everyone need to read and have and I wish this book shall reach more people for them to understand the real lost Arcanum explained in the book.
A brilliant, lengthy yet interesting novel. When you finish reading this, I am sure you would be satisfied of having spent your time and money in buying this. Not many in India do write a novel which is a confluence of religion and fiction and this is one such novel which would surely see him in the likes of Dan Brown, Ashwin Sanghi - if not others.
What is most interesting is how the author has handled the flow meticulously wherein you would never feel the boredom while reading this novel. This 455 page novel would surely be a readers delight and I would suggest you to start reading this on a Saturday preferably sitting near to the window especially when it is raining outside.
The novel begins with three gruesome murders and Jack Stevens gets appointed as the investigating officer by the CBI. While he was about to crack the case after stumbling upon few evidences, he gets a message from his boss AD Rajat Singh that the case has been transferred to JIC and David Craig gets assigned to investigate it further.
He realizes that his father George Stevens did not die a natural death but was also murdered and gets a key from Eileen, wh he doubted was the reason for separation between his parents.
The key leads to various places which includes Nallamalla hills in Srisailam, Ajanta and Ellora caves and Kongka La(Leh).
The killer tries to eliminate Jack but gets saved my the cab driver. He also finds a company from Taneez who was from U.S.
Jack gets framed and he becomes a fugitive but eventually gathers more crucial information without knowing that those who he trust were also giving the clue to the JIC to get hold of him.
There was this person who was referred as "MASTER" who joins hands with opposition leader Ajeet Awasthi and tries to unearth the secret on his end.
What was the secret all about?
Who was protecting these?
Had it been unearthed/exposed?
Who was behind this?
Who is this MASTER? What is his motive?
You would get answer to all these questions in this fast paced novel which is no less than a Hollywood thriller.

An excellent story, fairly well crafted, and full of intriguing characters.
This is the Dan Brown type of thriller by an Indian Author with a completely Indian context, delving deep into India's rich culture and history. There are a couple plot holes and editing errors that got missed out, but all in all it was an excellent and entertaining read.
There were a good amount of twists and turns along with the questions about who is actually the villain/s is / are, along a good bit of cultural exposure to India. I like that the author has provided a short section at the end to explain what was fact.
I'd be keen on checking out future works of this writer.
