A nice way to understand the different and mixed myths of the huge area known as Polynesia, first we get an explanation on the different people, their history and expansion, from there we can begin to understand why they had such pantheon, then we get into the main mythos about the main gods, the creation of the world, the separation of the sea and the sky and the evolution of things (inversed, from earth to sea), from there we read about the exploits and secondary stories and finally we have a glossary. Easy and fast read, I recommend it to start dwelling into the Polynesian mythos.

If you are getting this book I highly suggest you get either the physical book or ebook version, I got the audiobook and there is a lot of mispronunciations - so many that I almost DNF'd the book 6% into listening. I've also seen that other books in audio format have unfortunately had the same issue.

It give a brief history and then some of the main myths and the differences you might see between each culture, got a bit repetitive at times and was bare bones information.

Might be okay for a quick overview but may be better to have a look for other mythology books if you're wanting something a bit deeper.
