Isabelle has waited her whole life for an interesting man to come along. Now she’s found one, he’s rich, he’s royal, yes he’s got fur, but nobody’s perfect.
"Passion is a steamy reimagining of the classic Beauty and the Beast tale. An insatiable Beauty and a sadistic Beast make for a potent cocktail of dangerous sex and illicit desire."
Ahead of her time, Isabelle is bored and getting into mischief. When she happens into the dominion of The Beast, she’s alight with newly awakened passion. Cool and distant, he seems determined to ignore her, but Isabelle isn’t going to be deterred that easily. Desperate for his attention, she pushes the bounds of his control; naïve to the violent sexual behemoth she’s about to unleash.
Not for the faint of heart, Frisky Fantasies will sweep you into a dark world of obsession, magic and peril. The ultimate example of ‘be careful what you wish for’, these standalone dark fantasy novels are most definitely not for children.
A beautiful and unique twist on Beauty and the beast. Very well written and Captivating. The only negative is I couldn't click with Isabelle and just disliked her personality which made me lose sympathy for her. However, this is my personal opinion. Other than that I am looking forward to reading more twists on other fairy tales as I believe the author should continue with these unique twists. Well done! An excellent ending :) Recommend to anyone looking for a good short read FREE ON KINDLE UNLIMITED
I loved this retelling of the classic story of Beauty and the Beast. Twisted and well-written, this story captivated me from the very first page. Plus, I love the take of the not-so-happy ending. This story creates a Belle who is wild and unruly, delivered to the Beast himself near to her 18th birthday. She thinks she’s there as a prisoner to be a servant but her fate is much more serious than that. Belle can break the curse over the Beast and his castle for a price…her life. What the Beast doesn’t anticipate is how strong-willed Belle is and the feelings she stirs in him.
I received an ARC of this novel from the author in the exchange for an honest review. Thank you Faey Bonne!
What an interesting and original retelling of Beauty and the Beast! I did not know what to expect from this rewrite, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Belle is an extremely independent, stubborn, strong-willed woman, and really sets the tone for the story. I generally liked reading from her perspective, especially the end - I'll get to that soon - , but sometimes she came off as whiny and irritating. However, as the book progresses, we do see great changes in her character, and I felt as though that development was well done.
I liked how the author was not afraid to change many aspects of the original story. No one wants to read the same classic story. This one was got under the collar and unexpected.
What I thought was off about the book was the fact that it lacked action. I feel as though the novel could have been condensed and had a greater impact on the reader. The dry spells in the book were long and drawn out which deters the reader's interest.
The last quarter of the book was my favourite part. It was action-filled and it's the part when everything comes together; where all the puzzle pieces form the complete image. I liked the way the author gave us clues and revealed the mysterious aspects of the story. Those pieces of information came across with fluidity, and not forced at all.
The original fairy tales were dark, morality stories with a deep underlying theme of being careful what you wish for, and at what cost to get it. This dark tale is a retelling of Beauty & The Beast that would fit in well with those classics.
First (and so many make this mistake) never make a deal with a witch. They're devious and cunning, and probably run the publishing companies to sell books extolling their own cleverness. But if you do make that deal, they'll hold true to their end - a beautiful child - and you'll ruin it all trying to wiggle out of your end of the deal. You'll hide the child in a forsaken kingdom, never to meet again. Perhaps the witch wouldn't have been such a poor choice after all - Rapunzel turned out OK, right?
This deliciously dark tale twists the classic version and highlights the darker elements. A castle & town full of people stopped in time, their lives on hold through no fault of their own. A murderous Beast, none too pleased about the situation. A girl - though not as innocent as in other versions - who starts her stay in fear of the Beast which turns to love, or lust, or both. A curse with only one chance to be broken.
I'd like to see a bit cleaner editing, but I'm admittedly a snob in that respect. Despite that, I'll reread this one and am looking forward to the next in the series due out soon.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author for the offer!
I thoroughly enjoyed this re-imagining of Beauty and the Beast. It's always been my favourite film, so this caught my interest immediately. I'm also a fan of dark versions of old classics. It wasn't as dark as I expected, but I loved the relationship between Isabelle and Erik and found that once I'd started reading I had to keep going until I finished. The ending surprised me as well. A great little book. I hope Faey Bonne releases more.
