Desperately sad, eternally joyous, heart breaking, heart warming, frustrating, rewarding, all of those perfectly describe this book, but in the end the joy prevails.

Paul Gupta found freedom from sin and fear. What else could he do than share it with others. This is the story of his release from Hinduism's eternal despair. It was both an incredibly hard and incredibly easy change. Then he went on to prove that the God that had died to save him was stronger to provide for him than any Hindu god.

It is a wonderfully inspiring story. If you are struggling to find peace from guilt of sin, Jesus offers you forgiveness just as Paul found. I really appreciate that the Gospel is explained fully in this book. What other point could there be of righting the biography of a Christian than to tell what God has done for us?

I found this book very helpful in understanding what Indian Christians from a Hindu background have gone through to follow Christ. Paul Gupta was a high caste who came to faith in Christ. He loses everything because of his faith in Christ. He is put out of his family and learns to trust God for everything including a help mate. Paul goes on to get seminary training in the States and returns to India to begin a Bible Institute which continues today.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the history of Hindustan Bible Institute and the ongoing work through the graduates of this Bible Institute.

This book tells the true story of Vankateswami,a Hindu man in Northern India. What makes it so incredible is that you feel like you are walking with him as it is being told. He grew up in the upper caste system of Hindu society...his family dedicating him to the gods as a baby. His journey leads him face to face with Jesus Christ...an incredible story.

This is the biography of Paul Gupta, founder of the Hindustan Bible Institute in Chennai, India. His story of salvation and daily faith in God is so encouraging to to read. He was a former Hindu, and so there is quite a lot of information you can learn about Hinduism from this book.

what a man of faith. I am really looking forward to working with HBI in India and hoping to meet some of Paul Gupta's family.
