I read this early 2021 and I must said that this book is a masterpiece. From the author and messages of this story is really superb! The metaphors in this book is beyond beautiful. Napakalalim ng tagalog at napaganda ng pagkasulat, plakadong plakado kaya isa lang ang masasabi ko ang husay!!!

Plot twist 🤯 ; reread

The plot is not uncommon but what makes it unique is the author's narration. There are so many lines I've saved dahil mahilig mag self reflect si Rosephine. A lot of times where napahinto talaga ako, reflecting on a certain line or paragraph. I love the fact that hindi lang nagfofocus sa love story ni Azriel and Rosephine yung kwento but also on Rosephine's growth.

I also did not expect the connection of the characters, plus the mindblowing twist which is something you should look forward to. Pag blackpearled, expect that there will be an antagonist na magpapakulo talaga ng dugo mo. Spoiler alert!! Yung pamilya sa dulo na pinipilit yung gusto nila really made me cursed out loud at 1 am. I remember the same feeling when I was reading TDHBR lol.

On the other hand, the story is on the long side, then add the fact that there are, kind of, deep passages in the story. Hindi masyadong malalim ang words but their usages are. In my case, ilang beses ko 'tong dnfed before for that reason, medyo nahirapan kasi akong "makaconnect" sa story at first dahil nahihirapan din akong intindihin yung ibang lines, mas pinalala pa na always akong may reading slump and my reading sched is after work which basically means my brain being burned out already and she can't handle more deep thinking anymore lol. Tho when you get used to it, hindi mo na mamalayan. Plus I don't know if it's just me but this story forces you to view life in a deeper way, like I mentioned earlier, mahilig mag self reflect ang bida and it grows on you too.

All in all, this is another great read from blackpearled and it's a promising first book from a series with this theme. I can't wait to read the second book already. Plus did I mention that the playlist for the whole series is superb? If not, well check it out on the author's spotify account 🖤

The plot of this story is not unique, but what makes it different from other similar plot is the author's narration. Transition of the past to present v.v is so smooth. This is not recommended to teens cause it has some scenes that are not fit for them. I really like this book and the author. Blackpearled's words helped me a lot to realize things.
