Moving to Oregon as a Mail-Order Bride had never been Abigail’s plan, but when she is suddenly forced from the only home she has ever known, a marriage of convenience may just be the only thing that can protect her. However, the Lord works in mysterious ways, and shortly after Abigail has wed her new husband drowns while attempting to save the life of a child. Alone and afraid in a town full of lost women, Abigail must search for a new man to protect her from a horrid fate. Can she hope to find a husband that will cherish her? Or will she again be forced to marry for convenience alone? Reverend Akecheta James’ wedding day ended in a tragic death, leaving behind scars and pain. Ghosts of the past haunt him every step of the way to the small town of Silverpines. Called there by his blood-brother, Alexander, can Akecheta find his true future and perhaps love with the widow of the towns’ previous pastor? Together, the two must fight to build a life from the ashes of their past, and conquer the trials of the life yet to come. Can they find much-needed solace in one another’s arms?
This is a great addition to the Silverpines series. There’s lots to laugh about. There’s adventure on every page and of course there’s a fun happy ending. Abby and Pastor James are both looking to do what’s good and right and their first meeting is explosive in several ways. I will leave the readers to discover those ways for themselves. This author is new to writing romance, but this book doesn’t seem like it’s written by an amateur.
I really love these books. The only negative is the only husband they still mention is the Marshall. They don’t Ella Grace‘s husband and even when they need a doctor they go to Hattie and not her husband. Either way in this book reverent CMU drowns trying to say Millie son it’s so Abby is in need of a husband in the Marshall search for his brother a half Native American who is also a pastor. I really enjoyed this book and this series . It is really one of my favorite I just wish they would mention the other husbands. It’s as if another tragedy happened and now they are gone. If you love historical romances you will love this book it definitely can be read as a standalone. The writing in this one it’s witty, Entertaining in swoon worthy. The author has definitely made Pastor James sound so very handsome. I highly recommend this book please forgive any grammar or punctuation no errors as I am blind and dictate my review but all opinions are definitely my own
Abby is shocked when her husband of 1 week drowns rescuing a child. The man claiming to be a minister doesn't seem right and creeps her out. He keeps thinking she'll just marry him. The happily married marshal figures he'll try his hand at matchmaking Abby with his closest friend. Unbeknownst to him, his wife and other women in town have convinced Abby to write an ad for a new preacher to come marry her. It was funny having multiple men after Abby all at once. It was a clean, sweet romance and good. And it looks like lots more townspeople are falling in love. Happy to have lots more books yet to read about this cute town.
Excellent. That is the first word that comes to mind after reading this book.
The premise of this series is great and unique. However Ms. Westlyn's main character fantastic. The sorrow and life she led would make many women crack. But not, Abigail. The author brings life to this great story and fantastic characters.
It was also great to revisit the characters from previous books, and yet get a taste of MAYBE new characters for future books.
Read this book, read this series, you will not be disappointed.
Abigail married last week but now she’s already a widow. One creepy preacher wants to marry her even against her will. There is no other solution to write an add for a preacher. Akecheta reacts on a request of his blood brother, the people of Silverpines need a preacher and Abigail needs a husband. But what will happen when not one but four preachers show up? Who will Abigail except as husband? And what will happen when both their past show up in Silverpines? I love this series and as expected this is a really entertaining story. Such great characters. Can’t wait to read the next one.
This is the 9th story in the Silverpines series. The main characters are Abby,a recent widow of the Silverpines' pastor and Akecheta, a half -blood American Indian and blood brother to Alexzander, the town's marshal. Like any good series, this story links to lots of other characters from previous stories. Since Akecheta is a Reverend, there are several insightful Biblical passages. It's a nice series.
This book shows a lot of thought on how things worked and took place during the 1800’s much of which some could place in their earlier family histories. The suspense and love and all the ladies in Springville who need husbands and how they go about getting them. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I have been waiting along while for this one and it did disappoint. Poor Abby had so much loss and disappointment in her quest in getting the right Preacher for her groom. You will not be disappointed with this happy ending.
I enjoyed this book. It has a very good plot and good characters. It holds your interest from beginning until the end . Looking forward to more books in the series
Another fabulous book in the Silverpines series .This is one of my favorites with many of the towns people in the book. Its like visiting old friends you can just open the book and dive right in.
I am amazed to learn that this is Renea Westlyn first Western romance. She has written a delightful story with good characters, and an interesting plot. I enjoyed it so much, read it straight through with only a break to take care of the laundry!
Like the previous books in this series, this book as hard to put down. I was on the edge of my seat or laughing throughout this book. This book and series are a must read.
Abby had to leave the only home she knew. Kitty had a few secrets to give her last minute. One was that she would be a mail order bride. I read straight through. Couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed this book so very much, I just loved little Reuben a protector for the ones he loves . WANTED PREACHER, SILVERPINES SERIES BOOK #9 BY TONYA VanWINKLE . I recommend teens and up.
New to me author! This was a great story. Lots of fun, some danger and intrigue and plenty of romance. So far, in this series, I think Acecheta is my favorite hero💞
God has a long winding road to happiness for these two! Just as on real life, the trials grow us and make us better because of how we've changed! Wonderful book!
What a great story, wonderful story line and characters. Love this couple and their story. Can't wait to read the next one in the series. Highly recommend.
Akecheta and Abby I enjoyed reading this captivating story that was well written and with an intriguing plot. This has me hoping to hear of Kitty's story. I was kinda hoping/thinking that Zeph would save the day maybe later in the series Zeph will have more of a role. This story has a satisfying HEA.
