Team Carbonari must now penetrate the very heart of the Yasta: the main monastery on their home planet. But, to pass as acolytes, they must endure a four day mountain climb. On the trek, they mysteriously start dying, one by one. It must be an inside job, but who would murder their own in the darkness? Will they even make it to the summit? Total Score: 5/5
Summary Things get heated up as the Strike Force Retaliation team are sent on the next mission, to infiltrate the Yasta monasteries to take out the leaders of the Brotherhood. They are broken up into different teams posing as missionaries. If that wasn’t difficult enough Theo and Cierra are positioned as a new couple when his feelings for her are at odds with Cierra’s hidden feelings for him. The trek to get to the monastery is hidden with dangers and complications they never expected leaving Theo questioning about who the true Yasta really are?
This fast paced story left me hanging as Theo could be embarking on a new path, but what will happen is still left unclear. I will be waiting to see what happens next.
After a bit of a lull in action during Firestorm, it was good to see some tension and suspense return in book five, as Theo and his team make the perilous trip to the Monastery. This makes for a more enjoyable book, as it keeps the reader engaged in the story. Thanks to the unexpected event at the end, I also now can’t wait to read the next instalment and find out how the team fare when they finally reach their destination.
However, once again a number of spelling and grammar errors reduce an otherwise great book down to just 4 out of 5 stars.
I received an ARC of this book from Andrew C. Broderick and voluntarily chose to write this review.
After recovering in the last book, our group now goes into a real wild ride into adventure, as they embark on a journey up a mountain path that has more mysteries than answers, and more danger than security. .
This time the Carbonari embark on a really ambitious mission with several groups acting in parallel., and danger in every step. And nobody is safe as they continue climbing.
While I liked this book, there was an issue that took me out of it a little. A pair of the group members have a civilian identity not related to the carbonari, and yet they embark on this mission risking their lives and that covert identity.
What is happening to the Carbonari group as they travel to the home world of the Jasta, and climbing a mountain to their monastery. One by one they been killed. And what happened to Theo? A miracle? Or what was it? I can't wait to read the next book in line.
The team are on their way to assassinate the Yasta monks on their home planet. But first they must reach the monastery which involves a dangerous climb. How many will survive the journey. Interesting story with plenty of twists
another great read with alot more happening this time the team go on an adventure to the main monastery in doing so they must make it over a mountain really liked this one
