A glimpse from a seaplane, and the rush of the thoughts. A treasure below of a find and the fame, was it possible. The time element with hurricanes.
Interesting thriller.

Deep Wave - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Troy and Ryan Bodean are brothers running a tropical sea-plane touring business in Florida, in David F Berens' wonderful Tropical Thrillers series.

Troy seeks to retrieve an ancient Spanish galleon, the Señora de Muerta, to use as a tourist attraction. To that end he sweet talks marine biologist (and heiress), Megan Simon's into helping him locate what he believes is the wreck-site.
Things seem to be right on track as the find is confirmed, but is it the galleon - or something else entirely? What dangers lurk in the deep?
Who's determined to seize their finds?

Another wonderful comedy-thriller adventure, from the versatile author par excellence, David Berens, sees the Bodean brothers getting out of their depth literally and figuratively, always trying to do the right thing and save or help their friends, when the happy-go-lucky siblings rush in, where angels fear to tread.
Get your copy today and enjoy Deep Wave (and all the rest of the Troy and Ryan Bodean capers novels) - you'll be so glad you did!

"A Captivating Thriller"

In this exciting story, Troy Bodean thought Key West, Florida was far enough away to rebuild his life. Flying a seaplane for his brother's ferry business to Fort Jefferson, there is something he sees lying in the ocean. Could it be an old shipwreck with treasures? He wants to search for it, but his life may become endangered. Not just by other treasure hunters, but also the incoming hurricane Daniel! An awesome, thrilling story I could not put aside for one moment. I loved it, you will, too!

I have to tell this loads and loads of great fun ! Troy and his brother run an airplane sight seeing business in the Florida Keys. Troy is also convinced he has seen something in the ocean on his flights that could make him rich. Needless to say everything goes to crap when he organizes a scuba dive right before a hurricane hits. The rest of the story you’ll have to read but you will enjoy every single minute of ! Great cast of characters, non stop action and a terrific story line keeps you wanting more. Well worth the read !

Well good ol' Troy has done it again but this time he brought his brother with him. It all starts with a pretty girl (doesn't it always?) and a little trip by motor boat to check out what appeared to be an old ship wreck in the lovely blue water just deep enough to need scuba gear. Well shortly thereafter begins the murder, mayhem, drug running (with CIA permission???), a little spying on the side, and let us not forget kidnapping and theft too. Troy just keeps the story hoping and you never lose interest.

Twists and Surprises

This book delivers a gripping, suspenseful story full of unexpected turns. While Troy—the main character—starts off as frustratingly self-centered and cliché, he slowly grows on you. His flaws are hard to ignore, but the plot is strong enough to keep you hooked. The mystery unfolds with great timing, and the tension builds in all the right places. Despite wishing for more depth in the lead, the story itself is well worth the read.
I read this book with the title Ocean Blue.

Ocean Blue (Troy Bodean book #2)

Troy, now in the Florida keys, barely making a living flying tourists to Ft. Jefferson and back, is suddenly interested in sunken ship treasure, finds himself entangled in events involving the CIA and drug running. Troy also finds out that his friend, George, who's drilling for oil in the Gulf is somehow involved as well. You'll enjoy turning pages to see where and what happens before the end. Thanks for a great read.

I really liked the first book in the series, and so I bought the other 3.
Oven Blue is the second one in the series, and while it took a little bit of time to get going, it turned out to be quite an imaginative storyline. CIA teams battling against each other while regular civilians get caught in the middle. These are light mysteries and rather enjoyable to read.
I look forward to reading the other two books in the series.

Deep Dive for the Treasure

This is an exhilarating read that will grab your interest. Troy starts out innocently believing he has found a long lost historical ship and all he has to do is dive to check it out and raise it up. He gets Meg on board with the adventure as a cohort. Little did they know what great danger they were in. Complications happen right away and it becomes unclear whether they can survive them. Great read.

A Real Action-Packed Suspense Thriller!

Berens grabs the reader's interest and doesn't let up until the end. Good character and scene development throughout; however, he needs someone who knows a bit about airplanes before trying to create an action scene with one to avoid ridiculous inaccuracies.

Troy is down in the Keys, working for his brother, flying tourists around. When he spots, what he is sure is a sunken ship, he is sure it contains lots of gold. It is a sunken ship alright, but not the one he thinks it is and bad guys on several sides want to keep him from finding out what it really is. Lots of action and a very interesting read.

Sorry not for me

I hadn't read any of these books before so not sure what to expect except the outline from the title. I struggled with it from the start finding no empathy with the hero at all. I did however feel that I had to give it a fair "crack of the whip" . Oh I wish I had not bothered. The last few chapters were one long pain.

This is an easy ready/listen: humourous, a little over the top, interesting enough to keep you hooked. Troy and his hat are now at Key West, Florida, and working with his brother, when he discovers a shipwreck.

From then on, a lot happens: beautiful women (of course!), sharks, a hurricane... you name it, it's there.

Ideal for when you are looking for something light and amusing.

David Berens is my new Clive Cussler except that Davids books are all set in the keys. Same excitement and always a good plot. Any of the Wave series of books are terrific. If you liked Dirk Pitt then you will also like Troy Bodean. The Deep Wave is another great read with a real life feel to it.

David Berens does it again. Troy gets into some really tight spots and this keeps you on the edge of your seat. I’m so happy with these books that I bought the whole set. I will be able to read them over again. I’m sure I will find new things that I missed. Really really good writing and really good characters.

Im liking the series so far, this book was a bit busy at the start, struggled to keep up with all the characters there is a lot of them, but the story line was really good, and liked the Columbus link, I did notice a few inconsistencies with in the story which is always a little of putting, and I do love a story that as makes you chuckle in places and this did, happy to give 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ocean Blue

Really got a hoot out of the first book in series, but this one was like several people were writing, and didn’t coordinate with each other! Have better hopes for the next one.

Definitely a good read

Troy and the rest of the crew make for a good mystery/thriller. I read it in one sitting and can hardly wait for the rest. Sometimes dumb luck will hit you when you least expect it.

Intrigue in the tropics

This book is a fun read, and more so because of the colorful character, Troy Bodean. There are a lot of twists and turns, mystery, and intrigue, making the book difficult to put down.

Troy and his brother Ryan are reunited in the Florida Keys where they get embroiled in a feud that goes back hundreds of years. Once again, this episode is action packed as well as filled with political intrigue.

No hilarity but lots of drama

Well written, keeps your interest, twists and turns. Very different from Book 1. Looking forward to Book 3 after reading the teaser chapters at the end of 2.

Great read set in the Florida Keys & Key West

Perfect transition from Hat Check, the first in this series. Troy Bodean's next adventure is fast paced and exciting. Keeps the reader guessing how everything is tied together. You won't be disappointed.

Ok story and characters. Got tired of all the winking. Everyone was winking at everyone. Also, the author didn't seem to realize how many times we were told the main characters name and what their initials stood for. Just couldn't get into this one.

Light and fun thriller

The story was fun to follow. There were too many characters introduced with more info than needed. That said, beside too much winking going on, the of didn't require a lot of brain power to enjoy.

This one was okay. I was using it as a gap filler while waiting on books from the library so it was a stop and start read for me. I didn't realize this was number 2 in the series. I might see if I can find the first one.
