FIVE HUGE, SINFULLY SCANDALOUS STARS =)

"I see it, Jack. Your muse is back. The thing that gave you passion, tormented you, and haunted you is back. You're reeling in ecstasy and dread. It's something you want, but can't ever have. And the one that brings the pain is pure, white as snow... and standing in front of you"

**SIGH**

This is one of the best books I’ve read all year. That’s a heck of a statement, but I mean it. I don’t know how I found this book, maybe it was divine providence, but it quenched everything I love about romance books. I was initially hesitant at first, considering the H/h were not at all typical, but the cover and hidden promise of what might transpire just drew me right in. By the way, how beautiful is that cover? I’ll tell you right now, the story is just as provocative. It tore me up, made my heart ache, made me cry and made me happy.

As I said, Jack & Abby were not your typical H/h. Jack is a famous artist, whose work can be construed as either fine art or pornographic. He does not touch, nor date, nor sleep with his models. He also hires a female assistant to oversee his every move when he’s painting a model. With these simple rules, he maintains a pristine reputation that helps him sell his art. Abby is the dubbed as the one who got away. Jack and Abby were close high school friends until she disappears after their near kiss. A decade has passed and Abby returns, practically penniless & desperate looking for job. She has spent most of her time as a minister in a small church in Texas. However, her church forced her to take a mandatory sabbatical after she openly commits an offense. So she’s back and her desperation lands her at Jack’s studio. Yes, she is a minister, but she doesn’t find his work offensive or disgusting, but evocative and beautiful. He hires her as his new assistant.

Working in such close proximity to Jack is having a profound effect on Abby. He’s stirring up feelings within her that she thought was long gone. Those repressed feelings that she has had for him all these years are returning with a force. As for Jack, he’s always seen Abby as his “unattainable goddess.” How long can these two keep up this charade?

He reached out for me, tugging me by the waist closer to him. Gazing down into my face, he whispered, “I’m sorry, but I can’t be the one to start this. I can’t be the one to pull you from your calling and break your vows.”

Talk about forbidden love and lust…WOW!! Though this was told in Abby’s POV, I felt so much for both characters. The tension was palpable and so physically powerful; it literally reached out and tugged at all my emotions. When they finally couldn’t take it anymore, their coming together was explosive. My God, it was beautifully erotic. When a story elicits so much emotion from you, you know it’s good. I love, Love, LOVE this story. I cannot recommend it enough.

Side note: H.M. Ward writes paranormal YA romance. Ella Steele is her pen name. I hope that Ms. Steele continues to write more these adult contemporary novels because this was utterly fantastic.

From Nun to Nude Model In A Snap

I'll admit right off the bat I have a thing for priests, nuns and clergy folk in general falling in love and the internal struggles that follow. I blame it on my mom who made me sit through a rerun of The Thorn Birds mini series at what could only be described as an impressionable age. So when I read the blurb for this and found out Abby was a nun still in love with her tortured artist best friend from high school, to say I was anxious to read this is an understatement. Friends to lovers and internal religious strife? Sign. Me. Up!

Unfortunately for me Abby’s strife is minimal and her internal struggles almost non existent. No fear of being struck down by God in this gal. I never could figure out if she was an almost nun or a preacher of some kind. Whatever it is, she can’t date. She doesn’t want to start a romantic relationship with Jack, but her reasoning is because she’s spent so much money on seminary school and doesn’t want it to go to waste. Once I realized I wasn’t going to be reading about feelings caused by religious turmoil and the like, I decided to be fair and judge this book as a straight contemporary romance. After all, not everyone had their formative years shaped by a cheesy T.V. mini series.

I’m sad to say it didn’t work for me in that respect either. Abby’s character was too weak for my tastes and I wanted her to grow a backbone and take charge long before she did. I liked Jack a little better, but his mantra seemed to be to run when things got tough. The little twist that threw a wrench in the couple’s plans of soul mates forever kinda love didn’t make sense and was wrapped up way too quickly. If the dialogue had been clever or the story edgier, this might've been a better read for me. To be fair, there was a fairly hot scene involving body paint. Alas, some sexy body painting lovin’ does not a good book make.

I finished Scandalous this morning. All I can say is ehhhh. The reason I say this is because I just didn’t buy it, nothing felt right or rang true. The back story was just so unbelievable. It wasn’t only the “path she chose” but her reasons WHY, were for lack of a better word..ridiculous. She went from one extreme in the first half of the book to completely another in the second half (I have to be vague for people who haven’t read it yet) I wasn’t crazy about the writing either, I felt like there was a sentence missing here & there. For example.. One sentence he is across the room & the next she is kissing him passionately & I’m thinking wait.. what? He must have a really long tongue? I will read Scandalous 2 next because; well I had already purchased it & I always finish what I start. I will give Scandalous a generous 3 stars only because I really like Jack Gray & evidently his really long tongue ;)
Update: After reading the first chapter I realized I was just forcing myself. So I will not be reading book 2.

"Before I could speak a voice came from the shadows at the end of the room. “So, that’s where you went? Texas.” That voice. It made my stomach flip. My body was instantly covered in goose bumps, every hair standing on end. Something inside my chest ached when he spoke. Although I hadn’t heard it in years, I recognized his warm playful tone instantly. I’d know him anywhere."

Aaaaaand that's all it takes , my dear peeps to get me pumped up and excited for a particular book . I'm a sucker for a love gone wrong or the one who got away kind of stories where the H/h would know each other for like forever but then something would happen and one of them would totally go away only to return few or many years later and then sparkle or the fire of those days would ignite once again only to devour them completely .... Ooh I have got to stop before I give away too much !!!

Scandalous is the story of Abby and Jack . Jack is a millionaire master painter . His work considered to the most exquisite and sensual form of art . Abby is a clergy for a church in texas but is on a temporary sabbatical for a mistake that I would not actually consider a mistake . But anyways , here she is back in New York city with no money and a debt of $300 grands on her head . Now Abby needs a job and Jack needs an assistant who can help him with what he does . Sounds simple ?? Well , not really .You see , Abby and Jack think they can handle whatever is brewing between them , byt its not that simple . Not when all Abby cant stop thinking about Jack and vice versa . Whats gonna happen when old flames re-ignite . Will these two succumb to each others feelings throwing at stake their reputation or will they just walk away from each other and their hidden desires and feelings ?? The answer my dear friend is in this wonderful read that is Scandalous

My review :

cover speak : BEAUTIFUL ! MAGNIFICENT ! BREATH-TAKING BEAUTIFUL ! My reaction the first time I saw the cover was :

Characters : I loved Abby and Jack . Abby understood Jack in a way that no one would , I mean he didn't even have to express it to her in words . She could feel his loneliness , the hollow emptiness of his life just by looking at his paintings . And Jack , well Jack bought out in Abby all those feelings and desires that were probably wrapped up in a nice bubble wrap and thrown way behind somewhere in her head . They are definitely one of my Favourite couples !!

Story : Loved every single thing about this book . My only wish - It could've been a bit longer ..

Overall a very steamy and a sexy read !! Recommended to readers who love a yummm super hot painter , this one's a must read from me !!

Read more of my reviews and ramblings at Ana's Attic

This book is a 4.5 overall (I could round up or down, in this case I chose up) and a 4 for heat. Had the story been longer it may have pushed to a 5, but it all happened way too quickly for my tastes. The art sounded so interesting. I would love to know if it is based on someones work, and I'm dying to see it. It is very difficult to describe beautiful art, but the author did it in a way that left you a bit breathless.

Jack Gray is a millionaire artist. He paints tastefully erotic art that sells for millions per painting. Because he must first paint (as in-paint on) nude models, he needs to keep his reputation clean as a whistle, and always has a schoolmarm type of assistant in the room while he works with models. Abby moved away ten years ago and became an ordained minister (read:abstinence!) but was forced to take a sabbatical without pay from her church when she did something wrong. Jack and Abby almost had a "thing" in High School, in fact he was one of the reasons she took the vows. For Jack, Abby was the one who got away. But when he hires her for the assistant job, all the old sparks were right there.

Well as they fall in love, Abby has to re-think her place in life. {Frankly, I thought the decision to even work with temptation was so quick it was a little cray-cray--$270,000 in college debt, and if she sleeps with this guy she loses everything. This could have been been written very well at this point, but her vows didn't seem so important compared to love--I would have liked to see the author expand on that a bit.} So, when a scandal hits and reputations are destroyed what happens? Was she just a naive fool? (I'm not telling. read the book)

This was a quick read, apparently categorized as erotica. This, to me, was a romance, even the sex scenes, which there weren't too much of, were fairly clean. But the entire book had a breathless, sensual, erotic feeling.

I liked:
-Hot, brooding, lonely, famous, sexy artist pining for the one who got away
-great descriptions of the art and the feelings they evoked
-A female minister who took a chastity vow falling in love--unique
-A scandal with mystery
-Even the sex scenes were artistic

I wasn't thrilled with:
-too short, not enough time to flesh out the story
-missed opportunities- there were so many parts of the story, or scenes that could have been expanded. I would have especially liked to see more of what they could have done with those paint and brushes! (OK-I'm a perv, so sue me)

This was a unique, sensual book that I recommend for a quick read.

Okay... fellow readers: Get this book, it is only .99 cents. I read it last year and it is one of my favorites!

What an exciting surprise. I found this book via a recommendation on Maryse’s facebook page. Gorgeous erotic artist, Jack Gray and preacher-girl, Abby reunite after ten years and WOW… paint sparks start flying everywhere and on everything. Very creative and captivating story. Really enjoyed the emotional artistic detail in the steamy love scenes

I liked this one. I didn't love it.

It was a short read about how one moment changes your life.

Abby thought Jack was her soul mate until she tried to kiss him and he didn't return the movement.
So she did what every woman does.
Runs away and joins the church taking a vow of abstinence.

Photobucket

ANYHOO

Abby stuffs up... BIGTIME... and is forced to take a years unpaid leave from the church.
She is kicked out with nothing and owing student loans of $270,000!

She finally comes home and moves in with her friend Kate who through a friend of a friend hooks her up with an interview with the prestigious Jonathon Gray.
Yep you guessed it Jonathon is Jack.

Jack is an amazing artist, I can't describe it to you. You will need to read it and I would actually really like to see it.

The one thing that he is known for is his reputation. He paints nudes in greyscale and HE NEVER sleeps with them. He is 100% focused on his work while working. He hires Abby as his assitant to help keep it that way.

Photobucket

Someone is trying to sabotage him though, he doesn't know who it is and everyone is blaming Abby the Nun.

Jack offers to paint Abby giving her the portrait to sell to pay off her student debts.
She agrees and finds out that she is awakened.
Just like Jack is. Abby's portrait is the first and only in colour.
Maybe she has made the wrong choice.
Or Maybe Jack still see's her as a friend as he did 10 years ago?

Does any of it matter now that a scandal has broken and ruined them both?!

THOUGHTS

This was a pretty quick read. I did like it. I felt it could have been longer with a bit more depth of character. Why Abby thought he was her soul mate? Sex scenes had a lot of steam though.

I didn't see who it was that broke the scandal coming though, So I did enjoy that.

I wasn't sure what to expect from H.M. Wards novel Scandalous before I read it. I loved the cover, just like all her others, was completely stunning. While reading I honestly could not put this story down. Scandalous follows the life of Abby Tyndale who finds herself back in New York after a mishap with her congregation down in Texas.

This book was nothing like I expected. It was completely original, and breathe taking, and just over all like any of H.M. Wards books, mold breaking.

I originally thought you that they would meet, lots of sexual tension, and then in then end they would be together. And honestly if you're looking for that, don't read Scandalous. This book was nothing like I expected.

I loved everything about this novel. The characters, the plot, the art....Oh the art!!! I honestly wish from the deepest depths of my soul that I could see one of these amazing works of are that Jonathan/ Jack Gray created. The art in my mind is so stunning I can only imagine what H.M. Ward was imagining while she wrote this story up.

Characters

Abby Tyndale was the perfect character. Seriously I loved her. She's an amazingly strong character. Never giving up on what she wants. She knew exactly what she wanted, and although sometimes she doubted, she knew who she was and never backed down. She was shy, and was always blushing which was so cute. Honestly, even though she had flaws, that's what made her even more likeable.

Jack Gray was the perfect male character. Naughty, professional, drop dead GORGEOUS!!! And amazingly talented. I loved reading about what he did with the paintings and the models. I had to start fanning myself when reading about how he moved his artistic ways into the "bedroom." Honestly they were the perfect couple. Both seeing what the other needed and wanted.
Kate was amazing. She's the best kind of friend. Honest, even when you don't want to hear the truth. She was incredibly funny, and so mom like, yet friend at the same time. Completely hilarious.

Oh and on the sexual tension level I have two words: Nipple clamps. Seriously, I loved how the sexual tension was so perfect and not over the top. In all honesty I was a little scared for a while that they would never get together, and when they did, I was doing a serious happy dance around the entire planet.

The twist towards the end of the book, and yes of coarse there's a twist...you sillies, I never saw that coming. I was completely appalled! Seriously H.M. Ward knows how to throw an extremely heart wrenching twist you'd never see coming into every novel and Scandalous was no exception!!!

Okay so if you missed it somewhere in my review I'll spell it out: YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!!! ASAP!!!

I don't think I was in the mood for this book when I started it, that could be why I rated it lower when I have seen a lot of great reviews. I struggled with the heroine being a minister/nun and her reasoning for running away from the hero when they were young and she joined the ministry, but I kept going and I ended up enjoying it. I thought the plot got a little crazy, the premise a little out there, but the love story between the H&h was beautiful and steamy once they connected.

I would really like to have one of Jack Gray's erotic portraits, the way they were described they sounded incredible. I also loved the way Jack introduced Abby to his art collection. What a cool concept! Each portrait would illuminate while the rest of the room stayed dark, Abby would tell Jack would she felt his thoughts were at the time he made the portrait. She was so on and connected to his emotional state; it was very intimate.

Scandalous looks at an artist who paints nudes but who walks a fine line between art and pornography, and a preacher who is searching for a way to put her ideals into practice.

Abby left town ten years ago and hasn't looked back. Her family was gone and all she wants is to start over. The boy she loved rejected her. She is forced out of her church and sent out on her own without any money. She has to survive for a full year on her own and then they will take her back.

Jacks life has been monochromatic for many years, then in walks Abby and his world turns on its axis. It becomes vibrant and full of color.

Abby returns home to her best friend who agrees to take her in rent free for the year. All Abby has to do is land a job that will pay her student loan payments for a year. For someone of her limited experience, she is unlikely to land a job that will pay enough to cover the costs. She gets a tip on a job and finds herself at the home of Jack. He is the one who got away. He is the one who she has been running from and he is the one who could save her.

This was a fast paced romance with some mystery and intrigue. I struggled a bit believing Abby's responses to Jack given her sexual naivete. Abby also seemed to have a rather rapid paradigm shift that seemed a bit unrealistic. Having said that, I like this book, I really did. Overall I give it 4 stars.

Sorry, I just didn't connect with the characters nor care for the story. This is going to be full of spoilers, don't read this if your planning in reading the book. So... There was an almost kiss in high school that didn't happen and made her run from home for 10 years, and become a minister. She signs some ridiculous contract with a church that totally screws her and her 270k in student loans. She pisses off her church, they force her to leave for a year. She goes back home and stays with former BFF, that takes her in after 10 years absence, no problem. She gets a job working for former friend and crush, Jack, who has become a famous artist. Jack was the almost kiss that sent her running. She becomes his assistant, they are still attracted to each other, ill miss minister has a foul mouth, sleeps with Jack, they profess their love and he asks her to marry him. For her first time having sex as a virginal minister, you couldn't tell. It lacked huge. Then they get arrested because someone is setting him up, and he is accused of running a prostitute ring, and Abby is accused of being a hooker. Really?? Well Abby saves the day and saves jacks ass and career, they get married and the end.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I am writing this on 3hrs of sleep because I stayed up to finish this delightful book. It is a quick read that intrigues you from the cover to the last page. I loved the art that was portrayed, and in my opinion the cover is a wonderful rendition of "The Scandal". Abby and Jack are wonderfully flawed characters who would sacrifice anything and everything for the one they love. I am amazed at the depth and growth of the leads in such a short time but it was not unbelievable. Having a history it makes sense that things would progress much faster had they been strangers. I can say that even though it will be a tough day at work with little sleep I still have a smile on my face, a flutter in my stomach and have to take deep breaths remembering certain scenes like the patron walk in the gallery. Bravo Ella Steele! I base my rating on readability of a book, the unwillingness to put it down and the way the story/characters stay with you.

I am just going to come out and say that this book is so good that it should be scandalous! I absolutely loved it!

I read that this book was an addictive tease that would leave me breathless and begging for more. That statement is not a lie! I started to read this book on Friday morning and it had me from the beginning and when I finished it Friday afternoon I did feel a little breathless. This books could have easily doubled in length and I would have been a very happy lady!

This story has a uniqueness to it that I really enjoyed. Abby is a minister in Texas but gets put on a mandatory one year sabbatical after she caused some drama at the church. Abby goes to live with her good friend Kate in the Northeast and her whole world turns upside down when she runs into the one man she has ever loved, Jack Gray. Now, when I say that Abby is a minister, I don’t want you to get the wrong impression and think that she is completely buttoned up; she is a little feisty and full of passion. She struggles between the life she choose and the life that she could have had.

Now Jack, I butterflyingly LOVE Jack. First, he is an artist who just happens to be hot. For me, artists kind of fit right up there with musicians and movie stars:) Second, he has this sexy, mysterious edge to him. He is a tortured artist who puts his pent-up frustrations for losing Abby into his art. Last, I love the way he loves Abby. There are some really great moments in this book that will make you want your own Jack Gray;) I will just mention paint, canvas, and nakedness; it takes body painting to a whole new level!

Jack and Abby have been apart for ten years at the beginning of this novel. Jack loved Abby back in high school and Abby loved Jack but one little misunderstanding left Abby running for the seminary and Jack to a lonely existence full of art inspired by Abby. The two have never even kissed before but they are soul mates and they belong together. They have hot, searing chemistry after they are reunited and I was rooting, loud from the rooftops, for these two to be together. Things are not always easy though; Abby is a minister and has taken as oath and Jack does not want to be the one to make her fall.

This book is pure goodness and did not have many unnecessary moments. I wasn’t too sure about it after reading the description but take my word for it, it is fabulous! It flowed and was a quick, enjoyable read. I only wished it would have been a little longer as I could not get enough of Jack and Abby! I really hope this author writes more books like this because I will be reading them.

SCANDALOUS started out with a bang, but fizzled out as the story continued while failing to progress at a satisfying rate.

I really like the idea behind the story, but I had a really tough time relating to Abby’s character. There was something about the story that I can’t quite put my finger on that rubbed me the wrong way – I don’t think it was the religious aspect, I have read plenty of books where the righteous fall firmly into the evil clutches of the Devil.

Kudos to the author for turning the virginal nun into a horny, sex-goddess – dirty, I like it – you definitely win points for that unique angle ☺ I would like for Abby to have been a stronger character. I felt like she had no backbone – a puppet for the church, a puppet for Jack and just when I think she has regained her wits, she shocks me with her stupidity.

If contemporary romance about forbidden love is your bag, then this might be just what you are looking for!

Normally, I never would have thought to pick this up... But, under another pen name, the author writes a series (Demon Kissed)that my daughter absolutely loves - and that I've really enjoyed. Going in, I knew this wasn't a book for my kids, but I was really interested in seeing what the author did.

It was awesome. I've read romances before... Stuff like Janet Evanovich's early stuff, and they're cute. Light, fun, easy reads. Scandalous, while still being light and fun, is much more. It's hot! Apparently the difference between a "romance" and an "erotic romance" is a helluva lot.

The book has an unusual protagonist, and all of the characters are a lot of fun. The author's art references are deeper than you'd ever expect... And the plot has enough twists and conflict to keep you reading - even when you aren't breathing heavy from the good parts. Yep. Expect to blush.

With the summer around the corner, bring this one down to the pool. And guys, throw a copy in your wife's suitcase if you're going away...

Loved every word. I don't think I've read a book that has had this kind of feeling to it for a long time. The whole thing felt so...intimate. First longing and regret, then urging desire, then seduction, and completion.

I felt totally wrapped up in Jack and Abby from beginning to end. Beautiful story, beautify written.

Girl likes boy. Girl tries to kiss boy. Boy doesn't try to kiss girl. Girl runs off to Texas and become a nun. Seems kind of extreme just because a boy you like doesn't kiss you back, but this is how Scandalous starts out.

Abby tried to kiss Jack when they were seniors in high school. She goes 90% When he doesn't make an attempt to go the remaining 10% and actually touch lips with her, she leaves him and runs for Texas and the seminary. Ten years later, Abby finds herself on a forced sabbatical with no money, no job and forced to move back to New York and sponge of her best friend (who she's also not spoken to in ten years). In hopes of repaying her ginormous student loan debt, she gets a job as an artist's assistant...who just happens to be Jack. Back in Jack's universe, Abby begins to question her choices and wonders if being by Jack's side was where she was meant to be.

There was something about this book the caught my eye when I found it on Amazon. Maybe it was the cover, the book blurb or even the price...but something drew me in. I only wish I knew what it was, because it didn't live up to the hype my mind created for it.

As I started the story, I thought it was extreme that Abby would run off and become a nun rather than face Jack's rejection. Even stranger was the fact that she would cut off contact with her best friend for ten years. But Abby was a quirky character. She overanalyzed things and didn't really know how to deal with her emotions. But I always felt like I was missing something about Abby. We got a hint of her childhood, but I kept waiting for more information about her parents and her home life to explain why she was the way she was. Unfortunately, we never got it.

Then there was Jack. He's a famous artist known for his sensual and somewhat erotic pieces. Knowing Abby is a nun, he hires her to be his assistant. An assistant who much watch him paint nude woman. Hello! I'm not a prude, but that seemed a little over the top for me. But even more perplexing was Abby's reaction to not so much the naked women, but to Jack himself. It was clear she had unresolved feelings as far as Jack was concerned and for someone who was so hell bent on going back to her parish in Texas, I couldn't wrap my head around why she would work for him when what he represented meant disaster for her professionally and personally.

I struggled with this story. Not because Abby was a nun or because of Jack. I struggled because I couldn't connect with Abby or understand why she did some of the things she did. She ran, from many things, and didn't seem to have the inner piece one would think someone would have after making the life decision she made (I'm assuming one doesn't make the decision to become a nun lightly). I wanted to be sympathetic towards her, but at times I just found myself shaking my head and hoping the story moved along faster.

This said, the erotic elements to the story were fabulous. The painting/photography scenes with Jack and Abby saved this book for me. I only wish there were more of them, because those seemed to be the only time either character were truly happy and enjoyable.

3.5 Stars but the last 25% bumped it up to four:0)

Okay so this was a different kind of read for me, not bad, but not, oh my God I loved it. The first half was good but I kept waiting patiently for something to happen, someone to make a move, some action if you will, so in a good way, it kept my interest, but in a bad way, I was like come on already lol. After the halfway point things started to happen and it got a little intense and somewhat sexy, then there was some suspense thrown in about 75% of the way through and it made me get antsy and want to finish the story.

Scandalous is an appropriate title for this story where preacher meets painter. Abby and Jack knew each other in high school but when something happens that makes Abby run away she does just that and decides to become a preacher. Ten years or so later she has gotten herself in some hot water and is kicked out for a year. She has nothing, no money to amount to anything, no food and the only thing she does have is her friend, Kate. She ends up staying with her and has to find a job that can help her as well as pay off her outrageous debts.

Abby decides that she will interview at a gallery only to discover the painter that is known as Jonathan Gray is actually Jack from all those years ago.

Mesmerized by his paintings and of course him, she realizes that those long ago feelings are still there and she doesn't know what to do. Jack decides to offer her the job and so she hesitantly accepts. Their friendship is rekindled and she confides in him.

I got frustrated here because you could see the torment they were putting themselves through and the intensity of their feelings that neither one would act on until.....

The suggestion, his idea, was the beginning and the end. It consumed me in ways I couldn't have imagined. The idea was like Jack in every way-completely tempting and completely forbidden.

I really liked Jack and once I got to know him I adored him and in the end he made me mad but it all worked out. It was a quick read and it could have been longer. Some things seem to be rushed and there was no angsty buildup in my opinion.

With all of the above being said do I think you should read it? The answer is yes especially if you like art. I personally had a hard time connecting with the characters but that doesn't mean you won't. It obviously held my interest with a variety of things that happened and a few I didn't see coming which made it a plus for me. So my review again is just my opinion and my opinion only. Always keep in mind that what interests one may not interest another. Happy reading :0)

I am so completely torn over how to rate this book. I stayed up until 2am to finish it because I was so into it but the end just fell so flat. I gave it 4 stars because I couldn't bear to give it 3, but really it was probably a 3.5 or 3.75 for me.

The way this book starts out, it was 5 star all the way. The author's writing and the descriptiveness when it came to the art and the love scenes was just so beautiful, I was completely captivated. I was sucked right into the story and didn't want to find my way out.

I loved how the art was incorporated into all of it, even the love scenes. I was so completely in love with this book and how amazing it was.

Then the shit hits the fan and the story completely deflated. It went from being so descriptive and beautiful to just rushing through It just fell flat for me.

But I just wish there was more in between, that we got more time with the characters. The second part of the story was just too rushed for me.

The first half of this book with the amazing art and descriptiveness is one of my favorites and it could've been so incredible but then it just resolved way too quickly and left me feeling like I was jipped.

This was HOT!! Coming from the same author who gave us the Arrangment series I had high hopes and let me tell you, they were met! What is it about Mz. Ward's writing? it's erotic, sensual, seductive, steamy and HAAWWTTT!

I love the whole " unattainable goddess " thing and finding your soul mate. Cheesy? HELL NO. This was done right with enough suspense and angst to prevent the cheese curdling reaction from reading something overly cliche and predictable.

Jack, my sexy artist living in agony over the disappearance of his muse and love. He was a tortured soul who's life was resusciated when Abby walked back into it. His art became vivid and more expressive, hinting at the passion and incredible love that harbored beneath.

Abby, the minister gone girls gone wild, HaHa! no not really. Some might say she flipped like it was nobody's business and they may have a point, but I see it more like coming into who you really are. Discovering what makes you happy with the right male persuasion ;). In the form of a rockin bod, sexy eyes, and run-my-fingers-through-till-they-fall-off dark, thick hair. BLISS.

But problems surface around the time Abby comes back into Jack's life and it's anyone's guess until the shit hits the fan, then it's SCANDALOUS!!

Really liked this and now am off to attack Scandalous 2!

I picked up this book after not having read anything for a while and Im honestly really glad I did!
I REALLY enjoyed this novel. At first I was kinda hesitant cause I was like, "is this chick a nun? What? .so strange." Which is kind of sad for me to be thinking cause I go to Catholic school, but this story ended up being GREAT!
It was so unique and the whole paint subject in the book. HOT.

Many things in the book I totally saw coming and I just wished I could have fallen more for Jack. I didn't feel a big connection to him. :/ but he still got those "Oh man love you." moments from me at times.

Scandalous is pretty well scandalous, the MAJOR scandal in the book actually played out really different than I thought it would which was very refreshing and I enjoyed that SO much!

I really liked Abby as well and I'd def recommend this book just simply based on the fact that the plot was amazing and pretty unique at times!
3.5 STARS! <3

Sorry to those who enjoyed this story, but I found it completely unbelievable, which led me to not care one bit about either character. A girl who practically lived her life as a nun meets financial woes and conveniently meets the high school sweetheart she never had a real romance with. Guess what? In a highly unconvincing plot, he is in love with the girl and awakens all of her sexual desires! Of course, they want to get married because, after all, after being together 15 minutes, they are soul mates (and yes, they use this word more than once). Add a cheesy sub-plot involving a person out to get Mr. Wonderful and you basically have the book in a nutshell. I didn't finish the book because I couldn't force myself to suffer through this bore any longer. I am disappointed that these types of cliché romance tales keep getting good feedback. It's the same story with different character names being repackaged over and over. Whatever happened to a bit of creativity?

What I liked about this book:
- Abby and Jack were likable characters with good chemistry.
- The story pulls you in at the beginning and moves along at a good pace.
- Angst. I'm always a sucker for good angst.

What I didn't like as much:
- Insta-love. Even though Jack and Abby go way back, there were a lot of obstacles seeming to stand in their way one minute that were overcome in a blink of an eye. I admit I may have rolled my eye a time or two with all their perfectness...

This is a Review Based on Both Scandalous and Scandalous 2 . I will post the same thing in Scandalous also .

This was a Good series , Although I thought it was kinda fast paced , I did enjoy it . I think that certain areas could of been a little more detailed. There was alot of jumping from one ordeal to the next right away

I LOVED Jack and Abby. The connection that those two had was undeniable even after 10 yrs of being away from each other . They acted like they had never been away from each other .

The Sex in this book was steamy and HOT .... Like HOT HOT HOT ....

Ok i didnt expect this book to be this good. More than anything else it had soul in it. And it was just a story of 2 soulmates who would never give up and would always look out for each other.
Those art works were a piece of admiration. Even though at first I didnt really understand it. But when she unraveled him I understood it all. And now they werent just paintings they were so much more. It was his soul poured out on canvas. And unexpectently I loved Jack. His shyness and love for his work and Abby made me like him loads.

Not just a romantic book people. It was soulful. Try it...

Scandalously boring and barely credible. Too my limited knowledge Protestant ministers do not take vows of celibacy alhough they may vow not to engage in sex outside of marriage.

I started the book butmoved on to something else since it was boring. Perhaps I am a little too liberal but I fail to see what the issue is with regard to the art. Nudes have always been acceptable as art. Consequently, I feel I am not part of the demographic targeted by this particular novel.
