Галілей та перша зоряна війна
Далеко чи близько від нас розташовані зірки; в чому полягає таємниця цих світил; де розташована Земля й чи стоїть вона нерухомо, висить або рухається; що таке Сонце і хто "головний" - ці питання в усі часи турбували наших предків, відколи вони то настрашено, то зачаровано почали спостерігати за небом. Неймовірно, але в певні часи говорити про це було небезпечно, коли за одну лиш фразу "Земля обертається!" могли спалити на вогнищі.
Отож поспілкувавшись з великим Галілеєм про зірки, телескопи, плями на Сонці тощо, послухавши його розповідь про супутники планет і як йому вдалось їх відкрити, а також дізнавшись з його вуст про страшні діяння інквізиції, читач зрозуміє, чому ж, власне, мудрий учений мусив відмовитись від своїх поглядів і відкриттів...
Отож поспілкувавшись з великим Галілеєм про зірки, телескопи, плями на Сонці тощо, послухавши його розповідь про супутники планет і як йому вдалось їх відкрити, а також дізнавшись з його вуст про страшні діяння інквізиції, читач зрозуміє, чому ж, власне, мудрий учений мусив відмовитись від своїх поглядів і відкриттів...

In diesem Kinderbuch wird auf das Leben des Astronom und Mathematikers Galileo Galilei eingegangen. Wir reisen zurück ins 17. Jahrhundert nach Italien, wo Galilei lebte und bald entschied, die Erde drehe sich um die Sonne. Mit dieser gewagten Aussage machte er sich auch Feinde...
Ich liebe die Arena Bibliothek des Wissens, wozu auch dieser Band gehört. Hier wird auf sehr anschauliche, kindgerechte und spannende Art sehr viel Wissenswertes vermittelt.

It's a really fun book even for non-children =)
Luca has done all of us a great favor in retelling the life of Galileo and his discoveries in a fun and joyful way with lots of comical illustrations. Not only can the kids learn about famous scientist and history changers in a very enjoyable way, but it's no boredom for grown-ups either.
Do try. I plan to go back to the library to try and get other books of his as well.
I personally think some of the terms and historical conditions could have been better or a bit deeper explained that currenlty remained rather foggy for my kid.

Mis mõttes ma sain alles täna teada, et Galileo Galileid ei hukatudki ning, et tema tegelikult ei avastanudki, et maa pöörleb hoopis ümber päikese, vaid tema suutis seda tõestada. Ja kõik vinged asjad, mis ta leiutas. Vinge tüüp!
Raamat ise on väga mõnus ja ladus lugemine. Lihtsa tekstiga nii et ei ehmata ära ka minusugust non-fictioni põlgurit.

Siin raamatus oli kunagine aeg ja uskumused väga hästi lahti selgitatud, kuid mulle nagu tundus, et midagi oleks olnud justkui mäda. Kui Galileo vaidles selle osas, et maa on kujult palli moodi, siis tänapäeval on see vaidlus vastupidine.
Muidu oli väga hea raamat kuulsa teadlase ja leiutaja Galileo elust.

Cute German children's comic about Galileo Galilei's life. Really enjoyed it, makes me interested about the other books in the same series!

Mio padre mi ha mandato a studiare all'Abbazia di Vallombrosa. Oggi direbbero "ti mando in collegio".
[...] Dai monaci c'è sempre qualcosa da mangiare: fave, orzo, capretti, agnelli, noci e castagne. Poi sono molto saggi. uno di loro mi ha detto: chi non sa perdonare gli altri distrugge un ponte su cui lui stesso potrebbe passare.
Non so perché, ma questa frase credo che mi accompagnerà per tutta la vita.
