A killer is loose in Calgon, and has chosen a very high-profile victim. Rumors abound and theories are whispered among the country club set, as they ponder whether or not the killer might be one of their very own, or if a desperate mother with a sick child is the culprit.
Spencer has issues of his own, and feels as though his best friend may be making moves toward stealing any chance he may have had at finally finding someone special.
The intrigue is strong, in both love and mystery, in this latest, gripping installment of the Cupcakes in Paradise series.
Summer Prescott is well-known in the Cozy Mystery realm, having written and published several Best-Sellers in the genre. An avid reader of Thrillers, Horror and Suspense, the author has decided to follow her passion with the debut of her Thriller, The Quiet Type, which launched in the top 50 of the Serial Killer category on Amazon. The novel has received high praise in its reviews, and Summer is considering a possible trilogy or series to continue the story.
This is Book 13 in the Cupcakes in Paradise series. Chas and Spencer are working on a high-profile Murder case while keeping an eye on Missy who is greatly pregnant. Spencer is working on his own love story which makes the book even more fun. I couldn’t put this book down until I reached the end!
In this book of the Missy and Chas adventures, it feels like Missy hasn't really been attracting trouble. However, there still is a murder or too with an indirect tie to her. As always, the book is well written with an interesting and exciting story. The story again is unique and fresh and in particular I love how Chas concludes this story discovering who the murderer is without us really knowing. The characters are described and develpped in clear details, both the regular ones that readers know as well as the ones new to the book. The murders are solved yet I always feel like I can't wait until the next book to see what else is going to happen, especially since Missy will be having a baby soon.
Brenda Mortenson just wanted to take care of her son and get to work on time, Vanessa Hamilton - her boss has been very patient about Brenda's son being so ill but now she's starting to lose her patience, at a board meeting one of the members is pushing for an acquisition that he know she wants to wait on but Vanessa runs out of time and is found dead in her pool the next morning and down the rabbit hole we go, so many suspects and so hard to get the exact info they need but Chas works hard to get the information he needs and when things break open for him and the discovery of the murderer's identity was a real shocker. Great book, great read.
Summer Prescottt writes a fantastic series about the lives of Missy, Chas, Spencer and the people in their lives. Although you can read each book alone, to understand all the characters U suggest you start at book one. This books finds us with two murders and a few likely suspects. Interesting twist on who fun it! Advise a cup of cocoa and a good cup came cause Missy's cupcakes will make you hungry.
15 stars!!!! Chas and Spencer has a mess to figure out on the case. It was high profile and some many suspects, they had to see many times over. Country Club scene has its troubles with certain people. Greed is a deadly sin, that most likely gets you caught. Plans were sloppy and not detailed well at all to get past Chas and the people who help him solve the troubles. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!
I sit and read this series and then I start wondering. How does she come up with these stories. They keep you hooked from the first page. Not to mention hungry. Chas and Missy are a perfect couple. Spencer is everyone’s boyfriend ( readers) Exho keeps me giggling. The whole book is absolutely amazing. You have to go to the next one on the series, it is like potato chips. Betcha can eat (read) just one!
As always cupcakes in paradise didn't disappoint. I wasn't sure who had actually murdered the two till right at the end. I love the characters, miss Kyle not being as active as he was and also Spencer. The girls Missy and Echo seemed to have quieted down quite a bit, but the book is still fun. . Excited about a baby coming into the picture m
Awesome reading! Her books in this series just keep getting better and better. Love reading about all the characters in this Series, and how Summer Prescott continues to entertain us with her stories.
I love this series it was worth waiting for I just hope 14 doesn't take as long to come out summer you and Elvis get to riding and when you're done with 14 finish your book on hog heaven you don't get me too stop reading ever
I have loved this series from book one and I still can't wait till the next book I love Missy, Chas and all the characters and if you love a great cozy then this series by Summer Prescott is a must read
I always enjoy visiting with Missy and Chas. This addition to the series doesn’t disappoint. The storyline is well written and keeps you guessing right until the end. It’s always fun to watch the various relationships develop and to see what will happen next!
Some people have all the Money they need and many do not. This book shows how people can be so greedy and some do not care. It was a wonderful read and I could not stop.
I was so glad to see the new book out. Please hurry and write the next one. I so miss Missy ,Chas, and the gang. I love where Tin and Fiona may be going.
Nothing special about this one. Easy to see the ending coming,so not even any intrigue to go on. I'm also very tired of Missy being pregnant and hope that's resolved asap.
I am so pleased to see where things are heading with Spencer and Mattie. I wasn't surprised at all this time by who the killer was. I had a few different suspicions early on but dud figure it out before it was revealed.
Chas is working a case of CEO being murdered. Of course we've never heard of her or anyone she knows. I just miss there being some kind of connection to characters. We don't see Echo and Kel a lot or really even Missy. Hopefully the next book contains more of characters we know and care about.
Never disappoints! I love this series. The setting, characters and stories are always great. I am so loving the fact Spencer might finally be getting a love interest to stick around. Can't wait for the next book and more from the Calgon gang.
