From my early years watching Murder She Wrote to more recent shows like Monk, Psych, and my absolute favorite BBC show ever, Sherlock, I have studied what it takes to make an entertaining mystery. Alyson and Claire are present when the time capsule buried by the town 50 years ago is to be opened. Eden Bay love these quaint celebrations and the whole town turned out. When the capsule is opened, there is a letter to Alyson threatening her with the death of someone she loves. It really gets to Alyson, but her best friend Claire put it off as a hoax. When Alyson brought it to the attention of the police, they too put it off. That leaves Alyson to investigate it herself. How could a letter in a 50 year old time capsule be meant for Alyson now-she wasn't even born! To add to that tension, her parents are returning from Europe with a secret of their own and her niece who she has shared guardianship with her brother, Matt seems to be acting out and who her friend Alyson seems to really like and wants to keep secret. A lot of stress on Alyson's shoulder and she finally gets Claire in her corner to help her. Things just aren't what they seem and people aren't who they seem. Who is going to die? A must read in this Hang Ten Australian mystery series! Keeps you guessing until the end! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Well its been a century since our town was founded and now we're digging up the time capsule that was buried 50yrs. ago. There's nothing really interesting in there, old maps, town records and letters written back then. However they call out Alyson's name. When she reads the letter its a threat against someone close to her. They will be dead in five days. Her parents were due home but when they arrived they brought all the family from Europe with them.
Who wrote the letter? Who's life is on the line? Alyson and Claire will have to find out.

Alyson and Claire are trying to enjoy t the Eden Bay’s birthday celebration. When a time capsule is opened and it states a murder will take place seven days after reading the letter that is for Alyson. No one believes it, not Claire or the police. Can Alyson protect her loved ones before one of them end up dead and the letter becomes a fact and not a hoax? You will need to read the book to find out. Wow another fun time spent in Eden Bay. Alyson and Claire are once again trying to solve a mystery. A letter apparently 50 years old warns that a murder will take place in 7 days from the time the letter is opened. What a crazy notion, who would write such a crazy note. If you want a fun reading experience you need to read this book.

I really enjoy Claire and Alyson. They make a funny pair of sleuths. I enjoyed meeting Alyson and Matt's family. I am glad they finally listened to Alysons intuition.
