Amelia Blake was born and raised in Hyden, a quaint town in southeastern Kentucky. At an early age, she penned clandestine paranormal mysteries - nothing more than a page in length and always quickly discarded. As a forlorn teen, she began to write poetry. Her collection was stored in a ratty old notebook and tucked away out of sight.
Throughout her life, she wrote tales that would evoke laughter in anyone who read them. Of course, this was all before the age of internet. Shortly after high school, Amelia’s home was destroyed by fire. She and her family lost everything they had, stories and poems included.
Thinking that writing was nothing more than a hobby, she laid her pen aside and focused on her education and starting a family. Years later, her old soul caught up with her as she felt that familiar pull once more. She has since written countless stories of non-fiction, reflective articles, and this novel, Vanished.
Her purpose in sharing this with you is to urge you not to give up on your dreams. She’d tell you that it’s never too late to dream a new dream, just as it’s never too late to explore one previously set aside.
In the powerful words of Aerosmith, “Dream on. Dream on. Dream until your dreams come true.”
Listen to your soul when it whispers. It recognizes the things you can’t - danger, love, opportunity . . . It’s your compass. Follow it.
