I had anticipated more than this book actually offered. I had assumed, by the title, that it would be a guidebook for helping travelers decide where to go, replete with photographs and details on how to get there. There was a modest amount of that but probably only about 5-10% of the entries actually have photos and few have detailed enough instructions on how to actually get to the locations. I had also assumed that the places described would be located in nature or historical ruins (e.g., Stonehenge). Yes, Stonehenge and places like that are indeed there but more than half of the entries are man-made churches, temples and mosques -- not really my cup of tea. The brief blurb entries for each site are informative but limited -- most all left me wanting to learn more. All in all, I like the book but it left me wanting more.
