Part-time student, full-time Soul Reaper, Ichigo is one of the chosen few guardians of the afterlife.
Ichigo Kurosaki never asked for the ability to see ghosts—he was born with the gift. When his family is attacked by a Hollow—a malevolent lost soul—Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace. Find out why Tite Kubo’s Bleach has become an international manga smash-hit!
The final battle nears, and it will require every ounce of strength Ichigo and his friends have to win against an omnipotent enemy. If they win, it means the end of the millennium-long war between the Quincies and the Soul Reapers. If they lose…

I'm glad I read Bleach. It brought back so many memories when I used to watch the anime back in the day. The new anime season is what sparked my interest in the manga, and it was a great way to hype up the story. My biggest issue with the series is that the power levels changed so fast that it was hard to keep up with who was actually stronger, it got annoying. Also, these last few chapters felt so rushed in the worst way. We spent a lot of chapters following the battles of some captains and secondary characters that the main cast got a quick battle that did not make justice to the series.
The ending was cute. It follows the trend shonnens tend to stick to, showing our MCs as adults, their partners and kids.
Overall it's a good series and I can see why they say it helped the aesthetic and stories of modern manga, but I think right now it is mostly nostalgic, as it would not compete well with the newer stuff.
I have finally finished the Bleach series (all 74 volumes).
It has been an epic ride and I loved every second. So I am going to use the last volume as my series review.
I'll give this series a solid 3.75/5. The last 2 omnibus volumes were a bit of a disappointment for me as the battles became lacking and the enemies started to look more ridiculous.
I watched the anime on and off. It contained so many fillers that made no sense whatsoever to help the story. Then I always remember why I watched it on and off - I, cannot stand Orihime. Even in the manga . . . it is safe to say Orihime is my most hated character in this series.
Byakuya is my most favourite character ever. Ichigo became OP. Aizen favourite villain.
My favourite arcs are Soul Society up until Ichigo loses his powers. The thousand-year blood war was an okay arc, but Aizen was so much better than an enemy. At this stage, I am like Yhwach, who?
I will still recommend this series :) the series also has amazing quotes.
While the ending was definitely rushed, I do like the ending time skip a lot. Really have enjoyed reading this series, I look forward to binging the anime adaptation of TYBW when the last season comes out next year.
I am so disappointed by this conclusion. Everything was so rushed, abilities were poorly explained, questions left unanswered and bamboozling power surges that led to nothing. It was a mess.
Volume 25 of Bleach 2-in-1 edition (73, 74) The ending of the series has come. Will Ichigo and his allies vanquish His Majesty Yhwach and his forces?
This book contains the following fights:
- Askin Nakk Le Vaar (Q “D” “The Death Dealing”) versus Yoruichi Shihoin and Kisuke Urahara [ending of fight] - Grimmjow (A no. 6) joins at the end - Gerard Valkyrie (Q “M” “The Maricle”) versus Captain Byakuya Kuchiki, Captain Tôshirô Hitsugaya, and Captain Kenpachi Zaraki - His Majesty Yhwach (Q “A” “The Almighty”) versus Ichigo Kurosaki - Jugram Haschmalth (Q “B” “The Balance”) versus Uryû Ishida (Q “A” “The Antithesis”) - His Majesty Yhwach (Q “A” “The Almighty”) versus Sösuke Aizen - His Majesty Yhwach (Q “A” “The Almighty”) versus Sösuke Aizen, Ichigo Kurosaki, Lieutenant Renji Abarai, and Uryû Ishida (Q “A” “The Antithesis”)
Honestly was a little disappointed with the ending, it felt super rushed and left so many questions. Like:
1. Who’s the Soul King now? I though they were necessary for the worlds to stay separate. How are the worlds still a thing? I was thinking it would be Ichigo because he would be represents all the different types of souls. 2. How did no one notice a remnant of Yhwach for 10 years? 3. How come Urahara and Mayuri never talked about the creation of life and find a way to temporarily increase growth rate? (Operating under the assumption that the two kids under Urahara’s care were created by him). 4. Why did it take 10 years for Rukia to become Captain? If an opening just happened, who died? There has been peace for 10 years.
I really feel very let down by the end of this series.
Besides not knowing what the heck happened with pretty much anyone in the series, even for the ones a bit of the future was shown it was so meh! So much misuse of great characters, such a weird pacing.
I feel like someone ripped half the volume before handling it to me.
And I know I’m reading this book years after it was published, but maybe that makes it even more aggravating? What the heck was Tite thinking? Can the anime fix it? I really don’t think so… light novels? No. This is so wrong… so so wrong.
All the hate for the final chapters scared me a bit, but I can, without a doubt, say that I enjoyed Bleach's conclusion.
There were some twists set some chapters ago, and there was despair that had to be overcome by Ichigo and company. I enjoyed the fights, a lot of very cool moments there. Plus, the ending was super sweet.
super rushed but had its moments. i started reading bleach at least twenty years ago, feels strange to finish. it’ll always have a special place in my heart, warts and all!
Just like that Bleach comes to an end for me. What a long and rewarding ride! I enjoyed the whole series from beginning till the end even if there were a lot of bumps at the finish line. The finale was very quick, but I did not mind since I was not invested in the villain or his motivations at all. The series ended with some character deaths, a world ending fight, and couples with kids! Not the most original finale but I was mot expecting anything else from Bleach. Good action series all around!
