Reilly's life in human-ruled Manusia centered around college, his best friend DJ, and irritating his father until he attended an anti-war demonstration in the hopes of preventing a war with neighboring shifter-ruled Forandria. What started as a peaceful protest ended in a chaos after a bomb exploded and Reilly landed in the arms of Sean, an enigmatic Alpha. Separated during the commotion, Reilly couldn't get Sean out of his mind. Despite his unwillingness to accept the concept of true mates, Reilly couldn't deny an all-consuming attraction to Sean. Luckily for Reilly, Sean believed Reilly was destined to be his Omega. Sean, however, lives a secretive and dangerous life with a deadly mission ahead of him. His mission could threaten the tenuous peace between Manusia and Forandria. I like things a little dark. This is not for everyone! It will most likely have an HEA, but no surprises will be ruined today!

This book had me caught in the author's world by the end of the first chapter. It was a unique take on humans knowing about shifters living in their world; some being accepting of it, but most who believe there should be a war to get rid of all shifters. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. This story was full of suspense, and I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. This book ends in a cliffhanger, and I will be waiting anxiously for the next book in this series. This was my first Bella Mannaro story, but it will definitely not be my last.

The stories keeps you up from the beginning to the end. A sweet romance seasoned with a finger of suspense, family drama and a zest of political intrigue . Really worth the time!

It was okay!
The storyline didn't flow well to me. But I loved Reilly..he was a so strong and independent. Loved Sean too, all mysterious. If it flowed better, it would have been a good book! New author for me, so I might try another one of her books.
