Sui Ishida (石田スイ, Ishida Sui), born December 28, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese manga artist In 2010 he won the Young Jump 113th Grand Prix award with Tokyo Ghoul (東京喰種, Tōkyō Kushu). In March 2011, the same oneshot was published in the 2nd Issue of Miracle Jump. And later in September 2011, Tokyo Ghoul started as a series in Weekly Young Jump 2011-41 Issue. In December 2011, he made another oneshot about Rize that was published in December 2011 in Miracle Jump 6th Issue, which was later collected in the 6th volume of Tokyo Ghoul. In 2013, he also started Tokyo Ghoul: Jack in the digital magazine Jump LIVE.
Sui Ishida is his penname; nobody knows his real name or what he looks like.
But seriously, finally, a normal nice sex scene in a Manga. Not over the top, not disgusting, not horrible. This was really well done.
Kankei has been through hell and back. Finally when he begins building his "family" of ghouls and focusing on working for a new future he expresses his feelings towards Touka. They make love and then things get even more complicated. Surprise moments, some major fights, two huge plot points move forward, and we are going into the final finish line here.
I think this volume was the perfect build up volume. The tender sex scene helped build those two characters well. Another character is breaking mentally. Kankei has to make some HUGE choices soon. And everything is about to come to a head. This is the Tokyo Ghoul I wanted. A 4.5 out of 5.
Me l'ero un po' dimenticata in realtà.
In the sequel series to Tokyo Ghoul, Haise Sasaki has been tasked with teaching his special squad of half-ghouls how to be outstanding Investigators, but this is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his subordinates and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. Will he and the members of his squad become heroes or monsters, taken out by the other squads in the Commission of Counter Ghoul...?!
The Premise
In Tokyo Ghoul:re vol 12 Toru Mutsuki steps up as major opposition of Ken Kanaki and his plans for peace. Toru, Kichimura Washu and the Oggai all team up and it's a really scary thing. By the end of the volume there were some major, major reveals but it also seemed the worst Ken has ever come up against. (When life -or a mangaka- dumps on you it's more a downpour than a gentle rain!) I hope Ken, along with EVERYONE who relies on him, can survive what's coming. The most exciting turn of events was the results of Ayato's forey into ward 24's underground. Quite an exciting volume... if you were thinking of abandoning this series don't do it before you've read Tokyo Ghoul:re vol 12!!
The Buzz
Ayato finds some really crazy stuff going on below Tokyo and I think its only a matter of time before those on the surface learn about it too. It was really quite ominous to me. Even though I was also on edge with Toru and her new pact with the powers that be in the CCG. I was really impressed with Inspector Ui and the lead he's pursuing. He's been one of my favorite investigators in this series besides Haise and I'm really eager to see if he switches sides...
The Feels
Well I totally didn't expect this in Tokyo Ghoul:re vol 12... a ghoul wedding! Their method of commitment is quite unique but also totally fit?! And for the first time in this series Ken also gets it on with some sexy time. It's pretty graphic. I love what it all means for Ken and it really raised the stakes for this romance loving soul! Yonebayashi also totally made me melt. We didn't get more than just a few moments with her so far in the series but I love what her reaction to the Kuroiwa/Toriko dilemma means for Haise's original Q team.
The Visuals
The art in Tokyo Ghoul:re vol 12 really blew me away. I've always enjoyed the battle scenes but this time there was a really great range beyond battles (though there were several battle frames that gave really fascinating perspectives!) There was a really detailed sex scene. There was a really great series of frames where a ghoul tries to eat a hamburger! Some of the setting shots were some of the best I've ever seen in Tokyo Ghoul:re. Very atmospheric. We've got another crazy on the loose and his transformation is really intense...
Tokyo Ghoul:re vol 12 is playing for keeps! Seriously this series is getting better and you will be pleased to note that I seem to be on a role understanding what is going on. I'm really rooting for Ken Kanaki to succeed with his goals for peace... before his time is up!
I am quite disturbed that a major villain is the transsexual that transitioned in the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul:re. This character has turned out to be quite disturbed and while it doesn't surprise me where he's ended up opposite Ken Kanaki its sad that its the diverse character going there.

I......can literally die happy now. Me @ chapter 125: WHAAAAAAAAAATT HOLY HELL AM I READING A WRONG MANGA?? Is it Kaneki’s dream? Is it fan fiction? 🤔 And then: a baby??? And then: a wedding?????? And then OF COURSE there had to be a “but” and an upcoming untimely death 😪 Yikes, you cannot have it all.

This volume was just so freaking beautiful. I’m so happy these two are finally together.
(Also, the scene—I think everyone who read this vol will know what I’m talking about—was probably one of the most beautiful and intimate ones I have ever read in my entire life. It was just so romantic, and you could really feel the connection between those two characters)
Strong beginning and plot-twisty ending, but some of the middle chapters were a bit boring, it's a transition volume in between different arcs so I'm hoping for future action to come. To be fair, this volume has several key scenes and turning points for many characters.
One more thing, the reason why Yonebashi is on the cover might be in the chapter 132 and if I'm right, this is literally the best. I'm so ready for this to happen!
Wow! This volume certainly ramps up the action!! And I’m not just talking about epic gore scenes but s e x! Phew…is it getting hot in here or is it just me? I actually think the sex scene between Kaneki and Touka was artfully done *chef’s kiss* and it’s nice to see our MC getting a different type of action for once lol!
Elsewhere…Furuta aka Kichimura Washuu is hellbent on destroying the Goat (Kaneki’s team comprising mainly of ghouls) - a faction that fights for the coexistence of ghouls and humans - and will do whatever he deems fit to see this enacted. We also see more of the terrifying oggai - ghoul/human hybrids which are the product of Washuu’s experimentation *shiver*
This world is looking seriously bleak for ghouls and I’m pretty scared for Kaneki and his ilk. Great volume, fast-paced and full of intrigue!
A parte ciò bel volume.
We get TWO weddings in one volume? That’s crazy work!
I must say Kaneki and Touka looked STUNNING in their wedding attire. Such a beautiful couple. They warm my heart 💖 Despite the fact that they’re currently living the Mean Girls quote, “Don’t have sex because you will get pregnant and die.” 💀 Cause tell me why they have sex ONCE and already Touka is pregnant? And now she has to find a way to stomach human food, and Kaneki is quite literally turning into an old man. They’re both still fully happy, but I am nervous for them. Especially now that Kaneki finally has a will to live 😭 fml
Mutsuki continues being a loose canon. You can’t predict what he’s really thinking or planning to do. In this volume, we even have Urie witness the signs of his psychotic behavior, but still no one is saying shit 😭 PLEASE get my son into therapy. He needs it!
I think that’s pretty much all I have to say about this volume! I’m really looking forward to reading the next one as things seem to be coming to a head 🤔
Before reading it I was like ,,Oh no, it's volume with this... Kaneki x Touka scene..." But do you know what?? I think it was really soft shown and I loved this full volume. I hope that later ones will be as good as this.
that was a very gratuitous sex scene 😐 and the storyline development i thought we were getting? nope, we just had someone going “oh she’s pregnant lol” ONE SCENE AFTER THE DEED WAS DONE ????
i guess the marriage and the baby is a good incentive to keep fighting for ken (+ the ghouls i suppose) but im way more invested in the ccg side of things. maybe im too much of a shonen head but love sex and marriage in my manga is kinda crazy :/
This volume really deepens Kaneki and Touka’s romance and gives all the characters a little more to fight for as the final war looms. I’m really excited to see how this will all end!
So far it’s been obvious that sui ishida does the disturbing cannibalism and freaky fight stuff pretty well but!!! I forgot how romantic and sensual this series gets from time to time! A pretty nice break from all the death and genocide of the past ??? 10??? Volumes?
