A mysterious continent of vast potential and incredible danger. Inhabited by the ancient, powerful dragons, the brave and sturdy Lizardfolk, and the cunning Kobolds, it is a land that offers much, and demands even more. It is this place that Jelly now arrives, eager to seek out fellow speech-capable Oozes. His excitement however is overshadowed by the turmoil that has draped across Drakon. Tensions between the human, elfish, and dwarfish colonists and the native scaled denizens has reached a peak, and conflict seems inevitable. All the while, the dark forces which have pursued Jelly across the ocean now fan the flames of war, eager to incite chaos. Can Jelly muster the willpower to save the two cultures, even if it means sacrificing the chance for a family?
I like the first few books, and I don’t mind Child like simplicity but this was over the top, he supposed to be powerful seems nervous around everyone and basically just hangs around until someone else saves the day, And basically doesn’t grow or evolving anyway… If you read the next book starting on the last book you wouldn’t even miss this one
I think this is the best book yet. Jelly is off on new adventures and so fun and unique. The story flows well and even though it is a YA, it's fantastic. The previous three books need to be read before this one, but I recommend that you do so.
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to future installments. From the MC to the story, this series continued to surprise me and show how original it is. Definitely recommend.
I did not care for this. They just sort of amble about talking at each other. Any action is bracketed by pages of tedious info dumps. “So why is this dragon army coming to eat us?” “Well that’s a good question, and requires careful analysis of a number of historical factors. You see...”
I tend to alternate between hard scifi and fantasy. This series has been a nice break so far. The book was an enjoyable and quick read from start to finish. If I had children, I would certainly put them on the series.
I'm debating quitting this series book three was a dud and this one barely held on. The plot is dragging. Jelly is not "getting stronger" even though that's one of his goals. It kind of feels like the story is destroy everything Jelly touches and kick him a bit more.
