A Harbor Falls Romance, Book 1: Sweet Hart Inn Suzie Hart has it all. A beautiful home, friends and family, and the sweetest job in the world. She's the best darned cook in Harbor Falls, North Carolina, or so she's been told, and she has the street cred to prove it. She runs her own bed and breakfast inn, has written a cookbook, conducts cooking classes, food blogs every week, and caters for local special events and holidays. Life is perfect. Right?
Wrong. You see, happy-go-lucky Suzie has a secret. And all is well until that secret rides up to her doorstep on a bad-ass Harley and tosses her not-so-perfect little world into some kind of big, bad tumble.
Brad Matthews doesn't have a secret, he has a plan--and that plan includes luring Suzie back into his life. When she worked as his sous chef in Asheville, he had no intention of falling in love with the sassy chef, or any other woman for that matter. No room in his life for romance. But when Suzie disappeared and took Brad's heart with her, his good intentions shattered. Now that he's found her again, he's not about to let her alter the new path he's set out for his life--and hers.

That is her life and she is perfectly content and happy with it the way it is. Until the day she receives a voicemail from Brad Matthews. He is her dirty little secret. They had a fling a few years prior and then she disappeared from his life. For Brad, things have changed and he is ready to get his girl back. He’s back to prove he’d do anything for her.
While this book was a quick and easy read I struggled with some aspects of it. I didn't connect with the main characters as I wanted to. I couldn’t tell if this book was the first in a series or not and there were things I was wondering about that never seemed to be explained. I’m not sure why with Brad, but Susie felt wishy-washy and whiny at times. I was disappointed with the fact that there were no quirky or interesting secondary characters that stood out.
While I enjoyed the romance and the fact that Brad kind of followed Suzie because he loved her, I think it was kind of clueless of him to think that she would welcome him when he was making such a huge change to the lodge and it would affect her livelihood!
I did like that they both were able to make compromises and come to a better solution than what they originally wanted. The HEA was great and I really liked Brad and Suzie together!
Sometimes life tosses a tree full of lemons at us, and the only way to survive is to make a tub full of lemonade… or so it seems to Suzie. The humiliation, not to mention the doubly painful betrayal of her former fiancé and her sister, has left her reeling. The breakup of a passionate, emotional relationship she had fallen into culminated in her decision to move back home and open her own B&B, focusing on her only consistent, dependable love of food, cooking, and creating meals that excite the eyes and the palate. Unfortunately, her past love is about to ride up on a motorcycle with plans of his own… to build his own dream, and win back the love of his life. Yet, it might have helped his cause if he’d asked her what she wanted, not just plowed ahead thinking he knew best. Spoiler alert: He didn’t, and it’s going to take more than just showing up to prove his love.
And so begins the Sweet Hart Inn at Harbor Falls series, as Suzie and Brad reunite and try to find their second chance to get it right, with a happy ending for both. I adored Suzie; she’s been through so much yet is determined to rebuild her life on her terms. Brad, at times, puzzled me. The moments I wanted to hug the guy for going after what made him happy often warred with the need to smack him upside the head for his alpha male tendencies. I never doubted his love for Suzie, but sometimes he showed that in the most awkward ways possible. You don’t try to steamroll someone’s dreams, you ask them to join with yours… or that’s what should happen. Watching them work through their differences, tear down defensive walls, and find their happiness once again was an emotional journey.
All of My Heart is a well-written, emotional romance full of laughter and tears, joys and confusions, and at the heart of it, two people who do belong together, they just need to work out how that can happen as they blend dreams and reality. It’s a great start to a series that I’ll definitely be following. I love a small-town romance full of quirky residents, drama (both in-your-face and quiet background noise), and finding one’s place in this world, hopefully with the right partner. If that sounds like your kind of romantic reading experience, then you’d love All of My Heart.

She traded romance for recipes. He’s the ingredient she never saw coming.
After a public betrayal by her fiancé—and her sister—chef Suzie Hart returned to Harbor Falls, North Carolina, determined to rebuild her life, one muffin at a time. Now she’s running the Sweet Hart Inn, teaching cooking classes, and writing her dream cookbook. Love? Not on the menu.
But when Brad Matthews, her former head chef and secret Asheville fling, shows up on her doorstep—and rents a room under a fake name—Suzie’s carefully measured plans start to crumble.
Brad isn’t just back to rekindle a flame. He’s bought the lodge across the lake, and he’s cooking up something big: a renovation project that could revitalize the town… Or bulldoze everything Suzie holds dear.
As gossip spreads, muffins burn, and sparks fly, Suzie must decide if risking her heart is worth the chance at a sweeter future.
This contemporary, Sweet Hart Inn charming small-town culinary second chance romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building in the small town of Blue Ridge Mountain, South Carolina, where the sunrises and sunsets are majestically painted across the sky in vibrant hues; in a cozy inn where the characters are a strong-willed heroine, and a sexy chef hero with unfinished business who are resilient, captivating, humorous, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with all of my heart, Blue Ridge Mountain charm and southern sass, flirty tension and pie auctions, a side of humor with their happily-ever after, chaos/drama, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, bed/breakfast, close proximity, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with all of my heart, and a contemporary, charming small-town culinary second chance romance that is sure to transport readers into a world that is wildly emotional, intriguing, and unforgettable.

All of My Heart was a fun and quick read for me, coming at a time when I needed something a little lighter than what I am used to reading. Suzie and Brad were the perfect combination for a sweet second chance, against the odds, romance.
Suzie is now running the Sweet Hart Inn trying to move on from a long term relationship that ended in disaster and running from a secret that could upset her now tidy little life.
Enter Brad.
Brad is here to get what he wants...and that is Suzie. Brad has come up with an elaborate plan to get Suzie back...one that may actually backfire on him if he isn't careful.
All of My Heart will have you up, down, hot and cold, and maybe just a little bit desperate too!
I loved this book on so many levels. First. Second Chance Romance. One of my favorite tropes out there. The will they won't they get back together...can they get over the past and move on together. I love that. It stirs up emotions for me and I love the roller coaster of it all. Second, Suzie isn't perfect and characters that are down to earth, mistake makers, they are real and relatable and I get really invested in those kinds of characters.
Reading time was just a little under 3 hours so this book is easy to binge in one sitting. Perfect for when you need a read but don't want to invest days in it.
Looking forward to the next in this series!
Giving All of My Heart 4 stars!

This was a delightful story. Suzie Hart owns a B&B overlooking a lake and is getting ready to publish her first cookbook. Her life is starting to lookup now after the debacle of her sister marrying Suzie's fiance! But Suzie has made lemonade from the lemons in her life. She has a guest that has booked a room indefinitely. All of the sudden a loud grumbly noise breaks the silence. No, it can't be, Brad Matthews! The rest of the story to the HEA is one that shouldn't be missed.
Suzie is 5 years older than Brad (that age difference does not qualify her as a cougar). While most stories have an older man/younger woman, it is refreshing to see it in reverse. I thoroughly enjoyed Brad. He wasn't an Alpha type of male but he sure knew what he wanted and had a few tendencies toward alpha but he was too caring of Suzie and her feelings to run roughshod over them.
I adored the dual POV format that the book was written in. Being able to see the characters' thoughts in a situation really helped me to connect and understand them. It also made them more believable.
This was a sweet second chance romance. There was a sexy scene that really was highly glossed over but that being said, I probably should recommend this to anyone over the age of 18. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Quite a woozy, painful reconnection. For the FMC, it's hard to resist the irresistible MMC, but some obstacles might help. I like that the MMC knows how he feels about the FMC, and tells and shows her. I just don't like that he planned out the business, future without consulting her, and also how he called her home. His plans and attitude towards her inn feel wrong to me. Don't know why they love each other, but I like their passion and that he knows her so well, if he really does and not only thinks he does. 3.5⭐️ It looks like only in fiction is it allowed and acceptable to mix head bumping/injury with wine.
It's admirable how some people can tolerate each other for so many years with all their flaws. But somehow, some of them separate and find someone more compatible. I don't want to think about the FMC's past with her ex-fiancé and her sister, to avoid mental trauma. I'll skip the next story about her sister. Knowing whom she'll end up with, all those unnecessary experiences for both sisters could have been avoided and saved my nerves and my dislike for the characters.

Sweet, relatively short story about going after what you want Having met some of these characters in another series by Ms. James, I was very excited to get into this one. If you like sweet and romantic stories, you will want to read this book. Suzie Hart is trying to forget about men and relationships. She had a bad experience with a cheating fiancé and only a few months ago ran away from another man whom she loved but knew the relationship could not work. She is content to run her B&B from a beautiful Victorian home in Harbor Falls, North Carolina which she inherited from her deceased aunt. She is happy. Right? She stays busy mainly to forget Brad Matthews. She has a new guest arriving later this day so she must get prepared. When Brad appears at her doorstep as her next guest using the name Mr. Logan, she is furious with him. How dare he fool her like this. Why is he here anyway?! Brad adores Suzie and his plan is to get her back and make Harbor Falls his new home. With his new inheritance, he has even bigger plans. How will Suzie accept this? I loved this sweet but also passionate story. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
Have a tissue handy the day you allow for this sweet, adult, contemporary, small-town, second-chance age-gap romance in Harbor Falls, North Carolina during May featuring betrayal, a broken-family, families, humor, infertility, midlife, a motorcycle, heart-and-soul vs. developer, true love, a blog, Taste of Harbor Falls Festival, neurodivergence, Wounded Warriors, a situation; Pammy Gruber and the preacher from the Church of Christ running off to Nashville in 1968; hostas, blessedly alone, gossip, a sturdy lock, therapy therapy, carbs, famous last words, distraction, avoidance, a mean bourbon pecan pie, hormones, an experimental caramel torch, Booth Fifteen, something I didn't know I'd missed, ninety-one and holding, learning by doing, touching toes, ten minutes fast, a cheddar incident, preservation, history, an Alpha, a man with a plan, endometriosis, panic, and mood swings.

Dreams change. Life doesn’t always turn out like you expect it to. With the scandal of her sister eloping with her fiancée those dreams have been shattered. For Suzie Hart inheriting the old lakeside Victorian allows her dream of running a bed and breakfast in her hometown may make a dent in that hurt. Next to have a one time fling, Brad Matthews show up on her doorstep, a wrench is definitely monkeying with her life. To find out he has big plans for not only her but her hometown as well, she may never recover. An exciting, entertaining and a little unpredictable tale that make Harbor Falls look like there may never be any secrets for long. Especially if you shop at Ralph’s.
Small towns are the perfect backdrop for scandals and romance. Harbor Falls is introduced to the reader in this first in series. Suzie is afforded an opportunity to chase her dreams after an inheritance. Brad unexpectedly turns up in town and it looks like her calm life is about to become disturbed. Feelings and emotions are involved, secrets can bring promises and opportunity to benefit both parties.

All of My Heart is an enjoyable romance between Suzie and Brad who had a secret fling in the past. When Suzie inherits a cottage in Harbor Falls she leaves Asheville to convert the cottage into an Inn which focuses on teaching cooking. When her extended stay customer arrives it is no other than Brad who comes with a cover story but really plans to win her heart. This second chance romance is a well written quick read with realistic characters and steamy attraction.

Suzie is trying to forget about men and relationships: first, her cheating fiancé, and then Brad, a man she likes a lot, but whose relationship could never have worked out. Brad has been looking for Suzie, and he is doing everything he can to convince her they belong together. This is a sweet story, with reliable characters who know what they want. However, Suzie is afraid of losing Brad if she tells him her secret. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brad Matthews is on a mission. With an inherited nest egg, he is going after showman of his dreams. He let her get away once but that isn't happening again.
Susie Hart has opened her dream bed and breakfast. She is definitely looking forward to continuing with her success. That is, until her secret shows on her doorstep. Why is he here and how does she get rid of him?
Can he convince her they belong together or will she run him out of town~
Was a nice story. Who wouldn't wish for a man that would keep looking for you after you left him because you were supposed to be engaged to someone else and find when you go back home your future husband has taken off with your sister. 18 months later he moves to were you are with a plan and that is to get you back. There's bumps in the road and a little change in your plans but it alk works out.
This was a short cut story with some tension and suspense between Suzie ands Brad. But I loved that she had a plan and was running with it. That is until Brad showed up. The tension between these two was undeniable. But he was in a mission as well, and that was to win her back. I loved the push and pull between them. The banter was fun. I loved the setting of the story too. It really pulled me in. I thought this was a really cute read.
Enjoy reading a book with two strong characters that have a history with each other and that attraction is still there. . Like the background and the setting of the story in a small town and enjoy the cooking and chef jobs that they do as they compete against each other. There are some twist and turns that are unexpected as you go along in the story. Good read.

I like how the book starts it grabbed my attention from Suzie's blog, to wanting to know what was going on with Brad. One thing is there is repetitive which makes me thing that the character is trying to convince themselves, not annoying but more of something we would do daily. Reading and getting to what happened between Brad and Suzie had me turning the page.

This is the second chance story of Brad and Suzie. She left him in Asheville about eighteen months ago, but now he’s ready to get her back. Suzie still has something she never told Brad. Will her secret be a dealbreaker or will they get their happily ever after? No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what this older woman/younger man romance is about.
'All of My Heart is a charming small-town romance filled with food, forgiveness, and second chances.'
The characters were well written and developed. Plot was pretty straightforward. World building was solidly drawn. All in all a very good read. Recommend.

This was truly a sweet story. I started to read this book and just could not put it down till I finished. it was well written and the story line was very descriptive. And again this Arthur also focus on how important it was to having a family.
Suzie Hart, whose fiance ran away with her sister Shelley, lives with all the small town gossip associated with her jilting. Unknown to anyone, Suzie had a two month affair with Brad Matthews, while working as his Sous Chef in Asheville, NC, while trying to come to grips with her stagnating relationship with her fiance. Brad had no idea that she was engaged and was floored when Suzie disappeared without explanation. Brad has now come to Harbor Falls with the intention of opening a hotel and winning Suzie back. Suzie is shocked to see Brad and doesn't know how to process his arrival. She distanced herself from him due to the guilt and the fact that Brad mentioned that he wants a family. Something Suzie knows that she can not give him. She feels this is the reason her fiance ran away with her sister and doesn't want to watch another man walk away from her. Although a little slow at times, all in all this is a wonderful, heartwarming story that I would recommend to anyone looking for a contemporary romance from an accomplished author. Thank you Maddie James, Sand Dune Books and NetGalley for allowing me this advance copy in exchange for my honest feedback.
This story felt quite dated and the small town that they lived in seemed to be very old but think it was set in present day? I just couldn't get on with the story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this story in exchange for a honest review.
