Good vs. Evil. A battle to the end! This is a must read!
ByTeresa fronekon July 7, 2018
While I'm normally not a big fantasy/ gothic /paranormal fan, the combination here just may be the reason I liked The Sword Keeper by Avin Vang, so much. There are witches and vampires and the good versus evil theme running throughout. You get so caught up with the 700 year old vampire Radu, who's teamed with Carrie the good witch being chased by Solomon, the evil vampire and Helga, the witch who mentored Carrie, for possession of a spell book holding all the secrets and spells. Who will win? Will evil prevail over good and will they take the book away? Read it and find out. And enjoy the journey!

Vampires, witches, and magic....OH MY

I LOVE witches, vampires, and good verses evil all rolled up into one book. So this book was pretty much a "gotta have" for me. Really enjoyed the overall story and this vampire twist was new, not bad, but new. This book kept me cheering for Radu and Carrie because I wanted them to be together. I recommend this book for an afternoon of good reading.ByCynthia Harton July 23, 2018

This was my first from this Author and I read it as an ARC for an honest review.

I have to say that this book had a very interesting storyline. I did feel there were times it jumped to a scene before I felt it was ready and I had to go back and see if I just read over something. But all in all I think many people will enjoy this story. I don’t usually read about witches but I do enjoy reading about vampires. This one gave a different twist to vampires than I was used too. Not saying that was bad just different.

I think the first sex scene was a bit rushed. I really didn’t see it coming yet. The main couple however were very cute together and you were rooting for them.

After reading The Prophecy and The Carpathian Curse, this was the icing on the cake. Carrie is always the good girl, very serious about her magic, loyal and she cares very deeply. She is still looking for a way to defeat the evil that is Solomon, trying to come to terms with Helga's betrayal and not begrudge her friends the happiness they have found in their mates. Radu is the ultimate paranormal vampire, keeping the world safe and Solomon from taking control. I was thoroughly enveloped in the story and experienced everything with them. If you want to lose yourself for awhile, this book will do that.

Enjoyable story in the vampire genre

This is more a story about loyalty and love and what would make one forsake those bonds. It has the classic good versus evil theme all wrapped up in the legend and lore of vampires and witches. I enjoyed the book but nothing made me sit up and go "wow!" Until maybe the little twist in the epilogue.....that DID catch my attention and definitely has me curious for the next book. Well played Ms. Vang, well played.

Had me from the beginning

This book had me from the beginning to the end. I read it in one sitting. Carrie is betrayed by her mentor, Helga. She finds herself drugged and given to the vampire Radu. They find themselves on the same side. They join forces to fight off Solomon and Helga who want to destroy everything Carrie and Radu love. Not to mention destroy the world. This was a really good book. I look forward to read the next book in the series.

Great story but too much sex

I received this book free from the author as part of the ARC team. This is my honest review.
The plot is good, but I flipped through too many pages full of sex. The story was strong enough without it & the story could have been expanded. I won't read another.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sexual scenes with vampires & witches.

Fast paced and keeps the interest high. A different take on Vampires and witches, but a very interesting way of looking at them. After reading the 1st and 2nd books, this one answers some questions and makes you look forward to more. Occasionally the author makes a jump that you aren't ready for, but all in all good reading.
