He is a mangaka from Tokyo, Japan. He debuted in October 2001 with Nandodemo Roku Gatsu Jū San Hi, and also wrote for the magazine Square Freeze and Love Love Santa, published in November 2001 and in February 2002 respectively. He later moved to Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, in wich he won the 7th "Story King" section in the same year.
It maybe divisive as most of the volume is filled with science stuff and technical jargons but then again we see how they use their heads to make certain quipments and get tungsten and also power plants and then cell phones already? Umm yeah liked I said peak fiction but its those character moments that I loved like the friendship of Magma and Senku in the cave which was awesome, Kaseki getting motivated and ahh I love it plus when they remind of Senku's birthday, it made me tear up ngl. So well done.
And finally a message from Senku's dad which is like one of my favorite scenes ever! Its so well done and really hits hard and maybe the reader also gets some optimism from it and then there's the beginning of the stone wars as now we move into the action part of the manga, so yeah a good read for sure! Plus the art <3!
Yes, I teared up while reading the telescope scene, I can't help it, my feels were just hit too fucking hard.
I don't have a lot to say about this volume aside from loving Chrome's friendship with Senku and how awesome all of the characters and their interactions are. I especially love Gen; he doesn't do much in terms of actual work, but he and Senku have a great dynamic and Gen openly stating his admiration towards Senku was so sweet.
This volume went in so many different directions than what I was expecting, but I loved every twist and turn. Can't wait for volume 8!
Even people without special skill could always find a way to be useful. It's not about who's the boss and top dog. We embrace our diversity cuz that's true strength.
I was a big fan of yours, Dear Senku. And that's more important than any pro/con list. The whole village feels the same way.
This volume is making me so emotional from Gen's admiration, Kaseki as part of the "pals", to Kokuyo's respect and admiration for Senku, and the 14th tale and its origin. I just love Byakuya so much, I was really ugly crying earlier. I love this because of the awesome discoveries and the comedy and hilarious art—but the drama just really kicks me hard, I can't help but cry. And that Magma character development that I've been waiting for is finally here!!! One of the best volume so far. I couldn't imagine how awesome the next ones will be.
By the way, I'm in the Kohaku/Senku ship, but I wouldn't hesitate to hop ships if the Senku/Gen one exists. I love them!!! I don't know if this is the red days talking but my bl heart is beating!! I can't ignore this dear Senku!! Haha!
In true Shonen manga fashion, the baddy that the MC beats in a fight becomes their teeth-clenched ally later on...and we will mock them relentlessly for that. The big burly dude that was slated for the chief's position if not for Mr. Wizard of the new stone age finds himself on a treasure-acquiring team in a perilous cavern, and he not only saves the main character, but finds himself enjoying the funny lil tasks that is required of him. ... Being a Godzilla fan, I should understand, but I don't. WHAT'S THE CONNECTION BETWEEN GODZILLA AND TUNGSTEN? WHY DO THEY KEEP SHOWING EM TOGETHER IN IMAGINE PANELS? IS IT BECAUSE OF THE GLOWING BLUE THING? WHAT?! ... Regardless, with rare materials acquired, a rudimentary auditory communication device is made! But what's fascinating is that there was another hidden message that astronaut dad left for his son...and from that, the science guy & professional liar hatch a plan that could potentially stop the war before any blood needs to be shed! As much as I hate the ham-fisted way the characters force their catchphrases at us, I really do feel Senku's now: GET EXCITED! THE BIG CONFLICT IS ON THE HORIZON!
Yeah this volume’s pretty good, although after 6 it doesn’t do as much for me idk. Still some cute moments like the village making Senku an observatory was really sweet and also the bit about Kaseki and his two crafting buddies was cute. I really like how Senku does give Chrome chances to use his newfound science knowledge, it’s not much but I just like how Senku doesn’t want to just give science to them but tries to teach science to them. Is good
This is a fun series! I can see where some volumes, like this one, might drag for some, but I really enjoy seeing the science and how everything connects.
The preparation for Stone Wars finally ends with this chapter. Senku decided to make cellphones in order to be one step ahead of Tsukasa in the previous volume and this book is mostly dedicated to gathering materials and creating scientific stuff for the cellphone. It is a very small detail but I loved that Senku wrote the date when he is released from the petrification on a tree and that Gen really respects him for this. With the preparations done, the Stone Wars will begin in the next volume.
Senuku surprises everyone with his witty re-inventions but the scenes I love the most are where Senku himself is in shock. I never thought I would like this series sooo much!
Me reí muchísimo, no pude evitarlo.

The team does some science-y stuff like making cell phones and the like. I enjoy seeing former antagonists, like Magma, coming around to support the team in preparation for the "Stone Wars" vs Tsukasa. We also get some blasts to the past, referencing Byakuya and his gang as well as some of Senku's sentimentality. I think this is where the manga excels? Not in the war and action, not in the comedy, but in the actual science and forging a bond between people who are more than a thousand years apart. Senku mixing his knowledge with the skills and dedication of this new civilization. Finding ways to win over the townspeople with some old gadgets and inventions, while also making everyone feel like they're contributing to the cause. It's not Senku restarting civilization by himself, it's him leading the way and having everyone else build upon what they already have, bettering it and making the world a better place to live in.
I still don't think the series is very good. Many of the character designs and visual details are disappointing, the comedy isn't funny, the dialogue quirks are annoying, and I still have difficulty grasping how the science is actually progressing. Cell phones already? These people somehow don't know how to preserve meat for winter? They're still working with stones instead of metal but can make tightly wound bridges and ropes and other tools? It's not a great series. It's not the worst thing ever, but it's not that fun to read.
Also the ending to this volume, with their plan, is garbage. I hate it. Ruins the whole volume and casts doubt that the actual "Stone Wars" arc we're building up to will deliver in any way.
Senku and the science village create a hydro-electric power plant and a battery to store the energy. Senku, Chrome, and Magma go on a dangerous mission to get tungsten for the light bulbs. Magma tries to kill Senku and Chrome but they all end up getting stuck in a mica pit. The group returns with tungsten despite the pitfalls. Science village built Senku an observatory for his birthday. Byaku leaves a record for Senku with Lillian's songs recorded. Senku hatches a scheme to trick the others with Gen's mimicry of Lillian's voice.

3/5 This one wasn’t as strong for me as the others. It mainly focused on the village developing a cell phone. And while interesting there wasn’t as much going on so it bogged a little. I think this is probably where season 1 of the anime ended too which is kinda a rough spot before the Stone War.
I’m still having fun though so no problems there.
Senku and a gorgeous Kohaku on the Christmas themed cover of volume 7.
And we're all caught up with the anime and then some. I still think the anime has lots more impact, but I am curious about the continuation of the story. I might read another volume just to see where thid is going, or I might wait for the second season of the anime...choices, choices

This volume was fun to read and I liked the moment that Senku got a telescope for his birthday. I must day that this volume pays off a great deal of things and the village has come a long way since they were introduced!
