Amalia è poi rimasta a New York, mentre Ryan ha fatto carriera a Chicago.
When i requested Until love do us part, i was expecting a fun, light hearted read. The cover was fun and romantic ambience. But I feel a little let Down.
Amalia and Ryan went to Yale Law School together. They come from very different upbringing. Amalia's family is very wealthy and Ryan is from larger poorer family.
So when Amalia and Ryan are up against each other on case they are working on, the tension between them bubbles.
Ryan and Amalia clash due to wealth. Ryan doesn't like that Amalia comes from money and he makes he's feelings known alot! Ryan hates the fact he had to work more than one job to see him through Law School, where Amalia didn't.
This is what annoyed me, Ryan really did have a chip on he's shoulder about wealth and class. Which was made perfectly clear near enough the whole way through the book. He was arrogant, annoying, frustrating, nasty at times. He just feels so intent on making Amalia's life a misery and a competition. It got fairly tiresome towards the middle and I wanted to switch off.
So when the judge orders them to do community work together because of their tiresome sniping and getting one up on each other they are forced to try and deal with each other.
I just felt that was all the book was about, the constant battle between the two. Not even sure why. It just went on a bit too long. I was expecting fun flirtatious banter with a touch of sarcasm but it was lost on how bitter Ryan was.
I think it does have potential as the concept is great but it just needs to lighten up a little. There is nothing wrong with a little healthy competition but the snarky nastiness between the two was not fun.
I think this book would Definetly appeal to some readers.
I received this book from the Publisher in exchange for a honest and fair review via Netgalley.

This novel is about Amalia, who is a successful lawyer and on one of her cases, she's shocked to see Ryan, the new Assistant District Attorney. They had known each other from Yale Law School.
While they were in court, they kept bickering at each other until the judge orders the, to 50 hours of community services, together.
I really liked how passionate Amalia is about her profession. She's also quite stubborn, she knows what she wants and she goes for it.
Ryan was sometimes confusing, one minute he wants to be with Amalia and the next he's staying away from her, I also had a problem with Ryan's view that everyone who comes from wealth must be a spoiled jerk, when Amalia obviously doesn't fit that image.
Other than that, the book was enjoyable and entertaining but I wouldn't say I loved it. I'm rating it 3.25/5 stars.
A rare unfortunate coincidence or just a series of plain, obvious destiny?
Amalia Berger and Ryan O'Moore, who attended the same law school, have now been working on the same case. But their past were yet harder not to be brought up on their relationship as professionals.
A defense lawyer and an assistant district attorney, Amalia and Ryan have to deal the case without dragging the hate they had for each other not so long ago at the university. When Judge Wyatt, who unexpectedly and subconsciously playing matchmaker between the two, he decided to sentence them both with fifty hours of community service. To be served, 'together'. The judge believed that it's his only brilliant way of revenge for killing his weekend buzz.
Amalia Berger did not believe in bad luck, but the day was gradually taking on a truly unhappy form.
But how much bad luck they need to go through before they give in to the feelings, deep down they knew they had even before they have seen each other again for the first time in that court room?
Until Love Do Us Part by Anna Premoli is a fast paced romcom novela! I'm not really surprised how much I enjoyed the story with a love-hate troupe, hilarious characters, and witty banters. Who doesn't love that?
Moreover, I love Amalia's strong personality who by the way is great in her profession which is dominated by male personas like Ryan O'Moore. There were times I got so frustrated with his indignant attitude towards the rich people. Or I think it was his pride that's eating him up because Amalia belongs to a wealthy, cultured family. But the chemistry between them was relatable and undeniably strong. Thanks to Judge Wyatt, who's character is as clever as his age and experiences! He's been the bridge between the two stubborn human beings! I love Anna Premoli for putting up a supporting character like him who's funny and help move the story along to perfection.
I admit that this one is better and appealing than You Drive Me Crazy, the first book I read of the same author. There's something in the story that feels like home. I recommend this to everyone who like an enjoyable romcom read for a change!
But fortunately love was anything but rational.
***Thank you Yasemin Turan of Aria Fiction for including me on this blog tour, to Netgalley and Anna Premoli for providing me an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review!
About the Author:
Anna Premoli was born in 1980 in Croatia. In 1987, she moved to Milan where she graduated from the Economics of Financial Markets at Bocconi. She has worked at J.P.Morgan. Since 2004, she works for a private bank where she deals with financial advice and tax optimization. Mathematics has always been her strong point; writing came by chance as an "anti-stress method" during her first pregnancy.
This book was running in circles a little bit, a lot of lets get together, or not, or yes. It was a bit annoying that they just couldn´t make up their mind. But I still enjoyed it.
Ryan and Amalia have known one another since their Yale Law School days. Both Amalia and Ryan are extremely head-strong over achievers and that’s pretty much where their mutual commonalities end. Amalia sucked up the courage back in college to ask Ryan out for a drink, for which she was rejected by Ryan in a most condescending manner. Afterward, Ryan gets the coveted spot as the editor for the Yale magazine. It’s safe to say that when Amalia and Ryan meet a decade later in court on opposing sides of the aisle, neither one is happy. Their acrimonious bickering doesn’t sit well with the judge either so he finds them both in contempt and sentences them to 50 hours of community service each, to be served together. This forced time spent together will either result in them killing each other or falling in love.
This was a fun, cute and charming story. Amalia comes from a family of wealth and has a trust fund but she doesn’t want to succeed on her family name or their money. Her relationship with her parents are that of practical strangers. Ryan comes from a large close-knit Irish family that works hard for everything they own and don’t have the luxury of wealth. I was really surprised by how much Ryan resented Amalia for her wealthy upbringing and thought it highly unfair how much he judges her for it.
I was anxious to know how they would resolve their issues to not only work professionally with one another, but also see if the chemistry they are feeling can amount to something special outside the courtroom. The community service they are forced to work was quite entertaining, from cleaning up a park with inmates, making and serving meals at a soup kitchen, volunteering at a kindergarten, retirement home and the Humane Society shelter. I liked that Amalia wanted to show Ryan that she wasn’t above getting her hands dirty or afraid of hard work. I didn’t like that Amalia felt like she had to prove anything to Ryan because of his bias against wealthy people.
In spite of Ryan’s bad attitude, I liked him and understood his feelings about wealthy people were more a self-projection of himself and his feelings of inadequacy and wanting to be successful without a trust fund. I liked Amalia and how she comes to terms with what being in a serious relationship means and whether she is brave enough to take the leap.
These characters were very believable and easy to relate to. I really liked getting to meet Ryan’s family and Amalia’s grandmother. The plot moves at a good pace and kept me engaged and curious to see what would happen. This is my first book by Anna Premoli and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style and voice. I look forward to reading more of her work.
My Final Verdict: Overall, the opposites attract trope can work if done correctly and this story illustrates that very well. I highly recommend this book to readers of contemporary romance as well as stories involving characters who are outspoken in their opinions and staunch defenders of their positions.
Thank you to the publisher, Aria, who provided an advance reader copy via NetGalley.
I was hoping for a nice little love story. The two main characters went to Law School together and apparently strongly disliked each other. Go to ten years later and they are both working in NYC. She is a defence attorney and he is an assistant DA. From the moment they see each other they start to fight. This carrries through the whole book. At times they are unlikeable. The fighting and bickering just seemed to go on too long. I was hoping for more kinder interactions between the two. They came from very different families and I wonder if it would have helped if we had seen them interacting with each other's families. Part of the conflict was Amalia having distant but very rich parents growing up. She is very resentful of her parents and Ryan is very resentful of her families wealth. This is a big issue for him although Amalie is independent and supports herself. This issue Ryan never gets past. This book was okay but I would have preferred a little more kindness and a lot less fighting.
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.
Amalia Berger is the daughter of a wealthy Jewish couple, supposedly living a privileged life she has actually grown up without any parental supervision as her parents care more for themselves and their social lives than for their daughter. If it weren't for her grandmother she would feel totally alone.
Amalia is a defence lawyer in New York. She is having a bad day which gets even worse when she discovers that the Assistant District Attorney has resigned under a cloud and the new ADA is none other than Ryan O'Moore.
Ryan comes from a large, poor, New York, Irish family. He and Amalia were at Yale Law School together and he resented her for being rich and privileged whilst he had to work two jobs to make ends meet and still left school with a mountain of debt. He feels a great deal of satisfaction that he denied Amalia the opportunity to be the editor of the Yale Law Journal. When Ryan comes up against Amalia in his first case since moving back to New York he decides not to honour the deal which Amalia had worked out with the previous ADA, for no other reason than it is Amalia on the other side. The judge becomes so exasperated by Amalia and Ryan's arguing that he sentences them both to community service.
This was an amusing story in which two lawyers who dislike each other are forced to spend every Saturday together doing a variety of tasks thought up by a vindictive judge. What let it down for me was that Ryan was just generally a self-important know-it-all with a chip on his shoulder the size of a house. I couldn't see any real reason why he was so mean to Amalia at college and why he felt compelled to continue all these years later. Amalia came across as a bit hesitant, and not very bright: every time they had to do community service she was dressed wrongly and totally inept, surely she must have some abilities other than being a lawyer.
I also thought that some of the ways in which Anna Premoli described the various nationalities and ethnic origins of people felt vaguely racist and/or lazily stereotypical, why couldn't the Irish family have been the rich, cold one and the Jewish family the poor but happy one?
Anna Premoli says that she was prompted to write this novel by her love of the TV series The Good Wife, this seemed more like the legal antics of Boston Legal, without the funnies. it's a pity because I really enjoyed You Drive Me Crazy, although in retrospect that too seemed to play on racial stereotypes.
If you can suspend disbelief about the operation of the US legal system (or maybe its true, I don't know) then this is a fun read.
I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
This was the first book I have read from this author. It was a lawyer Rom Com. The h is Amalia Berger wealthy with a Trust Fund and a successful law practice.
This is the first novel I’ve read in Italian, and it’s taken me a while. The story is straight-forward enough: two lawyers who were bitter rivals at university, find themselves on opposite sides of the court room in New York, and although they find each other intensely annoying, can’t deny the attraction between them. There’s a lot of humour in the book and both main characters are likeable. The language was about right for me (Level B2).
Anna premoli writes the perfect enemies-to-lovers trope. Right from the start you could sense the love and sizzling chemistry ozzing from the pages. A perfect reprieve from monotony of life. You are going toblove it.
