I enjoyed reading this book about Shabbat. I don’t know much about Shabbat, so it was nice to see a book about it. I liked the story. I wish there were some definitions in the back for curious kids to look up some of the foods they are having or traditions they are practicing. Other than that, I loved the illustrations and how the boy is just waiting and waiting until he can have Shabbat. I think this would be a good book for teaching patience because the boy does other things while he waits for Shabbat to happen. I like how the cat shows up on almost every page.
