Well I have to say that if you want a history of Saudi Arabia then look no further in my opinion. While it doesn't go over society of the nation it is a good reference for what happened since its inception. Nadav Safran goes into exhaustive detail about the country's expenditures into defense and it addresses the politics and policies that emanate from its desire for a strong defense.
