It’s All in The Family!

Jonah was no joke when it came to protecting Carrie, At first, Jonah did so, out of a sense of obligation to her brother Cliff, but he soon realizes he wanted her for himself. He kicked he’s cheating girlfriend to the curb, and went after Carrie. Jonah was willing to put Carrie’s enemies in the ground to protect her. I also like the fact that he called Carrie and Cliff’s mom, Mama. Giving her the title of mother because she cared for him like another Son.

Carrie and Jonah are super cute. Carrie is a good girl who works a regular 9-5 at the hospital. She is fascinated with motorcycles and starts a chapter of the Lady Guardians in Cleveland. The Hell Dolls are a rival MC led by a nut job who is jealous of the accolades the Lady Guardians are getting, so she starts trouble.

Jonah is the leader of the B2R MC and because his best friend is Carrie’s older brother, he looks out for the Lady Guardians. He likes Carrie, but has never gone there with her out of respect for her brother.

Now that Carrie is all grown up and playing biker chick, all bets are off. He sees his opening and makes his play. Carrie is a bit leery because of the last relationship she was in. Her ex cheated and she got hurt. Plus, she doesn’t know if she wants to date her brother’s friend.

Things pick up between the lovers when he protects Carrie and her crew from an attack from the Hell Dolls. They are a rowdy bunch out for blood. Eventually Carrie and Jonah work things out and become an item. Carrie even stands up to the leader of the Dolls and kicks some major butt. I was happy to see she had it in her.

Nobody wants a weakling for a president of an MC. It’s just not right. Carrie proves herself and manages to lead her club through the major fundraiser she had planned, while getting rid of the spy who infiltrated the club.

"Lady Guardians: Back Off" by Toye Lawson Brown

My Thoughts......

I liked this story that featured Jonah Richards and Carrie King. Having your brother's best friend Jonah their to watch over you wasn't a bad thing for Carrie. But was there something else between these two? With Carrie being the president over The Lady Guardians there in Cleveland will she need some help from Jonah as it seemed a rival motorcycle clue called Hell's Dolls was really trying to 'steal their thunder.' We find Jonah was president of the B2R McCarthy who was their to help Carrie in any way that was needed...her club and even a relationship. I liked how he was their as he supported her without really trying to take over as Carrie needed to toughen up and stand up for herself. In the end one could see how Carrie will learn to step out of her comfort zone and truly be happier and freer! I also like the relationship Jonah had with Carrie and Cliff's mom. That was simply beautiful!

Wonderful Story!!

Jonah and Carrie shares a last and at times they felt like brother and sister. But times change and so do feelings. Carrie is trying to establish a positive reputation for the newly formed chapter of The Lady Guardians. The women that made up the chapter came from a variety of backgrounds and had each others backs. Or did they? A rival motorcycle club called Hell' s Dolls was trying to steal their thunder and things were getting ugly.

Just as things were heating up between the Lady Guardians of so too were things changing and heating up for Jonah and Carrie. Each realized they no longer felt sibling type feelings for the other but each unsure how to tell the other how they felt or if they even should tell. Circumstances cause them to speak their feelings and then the ride begins.

I recommend this book for all readers that enjoy MC stories. Toye Lawson Brown put her special touch to this tale and it was a good ride.

I loved this story!

I love that this story's setting is in my hometown of Cleveland! I love that Carrie and her girls and those of other lady guardians that all have specific charities that they raise funds for. I'm glad that Cliff asked his bestfriend and MC brother Jonah to look out for his sister and her club,it was so wrong how Tequee the president of the Hell Dolls and her Hell Doll members plus her sister who she had as her spy inside of the Lady Guardians so Tequee can take all the credit for the things that the Lady Guardians were doing and her having her auntie blackmail Carrie while she was at work. I was happy when Carrie finally stood up for herself and her girls, that she finally admitted her feelings for Jonah and he was so very protective of her. I noticed that Carrie's club didn't have nicknames like the other Lady Guardians stories I've read.

Complex

This was a very complex read, with a lot of unfinished plot lines. I enjoyed this story, but did not enjoy the fact that many parts that started off well just went unfinished. There are too many hints about Jonah’s background that are left unexplored. Too many hints about what actually happened with Cliff that are unanswered. Additionally this installment does not fit into the overall story lines of the other Lady Guardians books. Yes, they are working for charity, but this LG chapter acts more like they are play acting.

Up and coming MC

Carrie is the president of her small MC club and Jonah is the president of the B2R McCarthy. Carrie's club is known for terrified raising and another mc is jealous of the accolades Carrie's club has received. The other mc is determined to undermine Carrie's upcoming event by any means necessary but Carrie has her ladies and the B2R to back her up. Carrie and Jonah's relationship takes a moment to get off the ground but it finally does, once they get over their issues.

Novella's complete...

Now I can only hope these shorts will be turned into novels. Each ended like they could be continued so why not? Especially with the unfinished business with Teqeela and the LGs own traitor member Kiana. And what about the HR Manager? Like I said I can only hope. Carrie seemed too soft to be the Pres. of an MC well she had a moment or two but she needed to be that way ALWAYS! Didn't really feel Jonah and her union felt it was rushed or set up possibly by momma and big brother. And what was the outcome of the ride? Yeah more NEEDS to come from this.

Carrie & Jonah

Carrie is the President of Ohio chapter of Last Guardians. Which means she has to toughen up to be respected. Respected by her sister MC's and other MC's and especially the hateful Devil Dolls. They want credit for all the good that Carrie's crew is doing for the city. Carrie's going!! Jonah a family friend and President of B2R MC's is going help out...in more ways than one. Check it out. Jonah has her back!🎃

She was his best friend's little sister....

...and off-limits. Carrie King saw him as not only her brother's best friend but her friend. Jonah Richards, a pet shop owner and the president of the Bold2Ride (B2B) MC club bailed Carrie out of trouble more than once with a rival female club, the Hell Dolls that were jealous of the attention and the good deeds that they were doing. Instead of wanting to work with the Lady Guardians, Tequeela, their prez, just wanted to destroy the club by any means necessary, including implanting spies and using blackmail.

Jonah no longer sees Carrie as a little girl. He's drawn to her and wants her in his life. Carrie has been told that friends make the best lovers because they already know each other, and her mom and dad are pushing her to settle down, and they already see Jonah as another son. But, she has her job and club to handle along with the mess with Tequeela and the fundraisers to think about. She is also leary about getting involved with another guy as she's been burned by her previous love.

With all of the problems settled Jonah and Carrie take their time with taking their relationship to the next level with their HFN ending. This was a sweet easy read. I was not too keen on the fighting and I would have liked to have read why Jonah doesn't have a relationship with his family and if and how he handled Darla. Or how Darla would have confronted Carrie. But with that said, I loved how Jonah took his time and did not rush their relationship. I thought it was sweet.

Light and Breezy

I enjoyed this read. It was light with not as much drama as I anticipated. Carrie is down to earth, smart, good heart and I'm still not certain too soft for such a leadership role, but I do like her. Jonah was an Alpha. I would have liked to have learned more of his backstory. Definitely an enigma, but he truly seems to love Carrie.
Nice little book.

Leadership

Jonah and Carrie makes a great couple. The love and support that Jonah provides Carrie is the truth. Carrie is a awesome leader and I glad she did not back down from The Hell Dolls.

Good Story

The story line was ok but the writing was atrocious! I was constantly cringing at
the immature and amateur
writing. Don't usually write reviews but this book was....ugh! Too bad because these characters deserved better!

Good ending

This story was a good ending to the series. To be a leader, Carrie had to toughen up and step up, learning to stand up for herself. Jonah was tough with a good heart. Even though I could feel the chemistry between them, it still felt like a little disconnect between the characters, especially when admitting their feelings. However, I think that Jonah is the right compliment to Carrie because she'll learn to step more out of her comfort zone and learn to be happy, freer, and completely herself unapologetically.
