Shae has reached a new level of insanity. What kind of fool sacrifices everything—their home, career, and family—for a complete stranger? One with too many demons, that's who.
A part of her realizes that running from the tragedy of her life is pointless; heartbreak is sure to follow her wherever she goes. But a bigger part of her realizes that she has to try.
This man may be a complete stranger, but he's promised her a way out, an escape from the shattered pieces of her life she can't seem to get rid of.
But he has his own issues—and they may be even more toxic than hers. Is she strong enough to embrace his demons? Does she even want to?
Love and happiness are within arm’s reach for her. As always, tragedies and setbacks will push them apart. If she's going to break the cycle of devastation in her life, she's going to have to face her demons head on, and trust her heart to a complete stranger.
This is the conclusion to Honeymoon with the Stranger, and has a HEA ending. No cliffhanger.
This series is my first by this author and I'm truly impressed! The whole topic of mental health and eating disorders was a real eye opener and so relatable. From the first book to this conclusion, the chemistry between Shae and Derek was smoldering and always ended in a boom. For every discovery for both, was more so a play on fate because of the equal heartache and childhood traumas, they both were what the other needed to heal and move forward together. I really wish it was an epilogue, that would have made the story that much better. Overall, a great read
Could Derek be more perfect? I mean really, patient, caring and sexy as all get out. I loved both Derek and Shae, but his acceptance and love was a beautiful thing to see. She was quietly dealing with a series of horrific issues from her past , and he had his own deep rooted insecurities he was dealing with. Something kept bringing them closer, and luckily they didn't try to fight it...eventually. They weren't expecting to be the balm the other needed, but when fate steps in (or in this case, on the ice), wonderful things are bound to happen.
Probably one of the best bwwm I’ve ever read, hell one of the best romance novels I’ve read in recent years. There is so much packed in such a short book. So many books and crannies that are so wondrously filled in with a stirring romantic sexy heart wrenching plot. It’s simply a wonderful duet and I can’t decide if I like the first or second book better, do yourself a favor and grab them both
There is a lot to learn and turmoil is a given in any relationship.Derek and Shae continue to discover how to build a solid, trusting relationship in this second book of the series.
This had more drama than a soap opera! To be honest, I did not like it much because of all the mental angst and torment. I hate to see people who choose not to change and makes life miserable for all those in their life! I come from a dysfunctional family, so I could not feel sorry for any of these people. You have to want to change and be better, so I am not a fan for holding on to people who make your life miserable and adds zero value to your existence. I am glad that this was written so Shae finally gets a mental and physical backbone!
Note: I hate to read about people who reject the love of a good person just because they refuse to move beyond their own mental blocks! Sometimes they need to have to work a bit to get back what they threw away! Especially, when they refuse to listen to the other party!
