Born in the heart of Charm City, Angel Black writes truths weaved from the concrete forests of Baltimore's beautiful skylines and characters from the velvet of his imagination.
As a man who is a hopeless romantic, your support is my inspiration. I'm excited to have you read my books so we can go on the hottest romance adventures together! ;)
This is a nice change from other paranormal dragon books I have read. This book delivers a message of hope. If one finds themselves walking down a path that they had no other choice it can be changed. It is never too late. Another message of the book is that there is one special someone for every man or woman, human or dragon. The third message is that there are things in this life that are hard to explain but they do exist. The fourth message is that romance and passion is alive and well with the right person, your fated mate, your soulmate. The fifth message is that unfortunately horrible things can happen whether in the human world or dragon world that are hard to overcome. However with love, time and patience things like sexual assault and cruelty can be overcome. I really liked reading this story of Domus and Anna. It was unusual the way they met and yet they were each others soulmate. An unusual occurrences were happening in both worlds. Female dragons were no longer able to reproduce. This meant that maybe the solution was in the human realm. If dragon males were allowed to venture into the human world perhaps they would find there mates. Also women were walking through the portals to the dragon world without harm. It was if they knew that they should be there but they did not know why. Some dragons took advantage of them and treated them worse than dogs. Imprisoned them, depriving them of the basics of existence. The untold emotional damage was great. These women were special. They had ancient dragon blood running through them. It was deduced that the reason these women were in the dragon realm was to find their mate. Domus and Anna had a ruff time in the human realm and hightailed it to the dragon realm. But Domus had problems in the dragon realm as well. Domus had a hideout in the woods that he took Anna to. They tried to lay low. But when Domus snuck back to the human world to gather some things for Anna from her apartment, Anna was abducted by a cruel baron who wanted to mate her to his son. He paid for her and expected her to comply without question. But Anna was not having any of it. She had gone through the mating ritual with Domus when they realized they were each others soulmate. This bonding created several unique ways that they could communicate with each other. Anna tried telepathically to reach Domus but it did not work when they were not in the same realm. When Domus returned, Mabs, an older dragon who has always been a mother figure to Domus, had told him Anna was abducted by the baron. Domus almost went to rescue Anna without a plan. Mabs calmed him down and they sat and figured out a way to find and rescue Anna. Anna heard Domus in her mind that he had returned, that he loved her and he would get her out of the baron's castle. Anna did not escape the brutality and cruelty of the baron's men and the baron himself. She pleaded with Domus to rescue her. Mabs is a healer a former priestess of the realm she knew of potions and other things that would be helpful to Domus and Anna. She supplied him. Domus made it to Anna but the were confronted by the guards, the baron and his son. Domus used to be in the guards but no longer. He knew some of the men that he had worked with previously. It wasn't until the baron was interrupted by the Viscount Valens of the dragon shifters, who had appeared with Mabs and stopped the madness that baron and his son were creating. Domus and Valens went way back. They grew up together, were as close as brothers at one time. Would Valens still feel that connection for Domus? Will Valens rescue Domus and Anna? What of the other human women, will they be rescued by the Viscount as well? Who will be held accountable for the atrocities committed against all these women? Would they see justice done? What will become of them? How will they get over what happened to them? Will Valens take responsibility for the women's safety and mental well being? This is such a good book. I highly recommend it. You will not be dissapointed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Domus sat at the card game, holding what he knew to be the winning hand. He knew the man across from him would cause trouble as soon as the game ended; he would not walk away from his lost money without a fight. As expected, the man decided Domus was young and probably inexperienced, so he came after him. Domus smashed the man’s head on the table and the woman who had been hanging around beside him told security the drunk had fallen.
Anna had foolishly accepted the dinner invitation from her ex-boyfriend, Ryan. But she never got the dinner, just his begging for her to take him back. Then he told her to stop in the “Stop n Shop”. After 15 minutes of waiting, she walked to the door and saw him with a gun! Before she could drive away, the police pushed her to the ground and cuffed her, despite her protests of not being involved. As they walked Ryan past her, he implied that he had done this at her request because she needed the money! Suddenly a man ran around the corner toward them. As the police approached him, he took out all of them! Then grabbed a surprised Anna and they drove off in her car.
Dom gave Anna a choice to come with him or face the police chasing them. She decided to trust him, despite the strange feeling she got whenever they touched. When they appeared in his world, she didn’t believe his story that he took her to the dragon realm through a portal. So to save time explaining more, he shifted into a large golden dragon with blue eyes! He shifted back as she stared open-mouthed! Then he heard shifters approaching, threw her over his shoulder, and ran!
Thinking the effects of the portal on a human had made her ill, Dom sought out his healer friend to help her. The old dragon female was the closest he had to a mother and he could trust her. Laughing, she told him that Anna was his mate, the symptoms merely the need to be claimed. Dom, always a loner, denied this. And as Anna decided to stay in the dragon realm with him for safety, their relationship deepened. But a human in the dragon realm was not allowed. How could she return to her world when her ex-boyfriend was blaming her for the robbery? What would happen if she were discovered here in the dragon realm? And what would happen to Dom if he tried to avoid claiming the woman fate had tied him to?
This was a very enjoyable book! The humor interspersed made fun to read, and the reader could see how Dom and Anna made a good team. She was a strong character and took everything in stride because she knew he was protecting her and she trusted him. He was a “bad boy” but she saw the compassion within him. The story line was good and fast-paced, yet still giving the characters time to learn about each other. This book was excellent and I highly recommend it!
Domus has spent decades in the human realm. He has no desire to return to the dragon realm. He enjoys thirty-year-old scotch. He enjoys human women, but definitely not interested any attachment. He is also a successful con artist and theft. Domus used his dragon abilities to do extremely well at the gambling table.
Anna, trying to get her life back together left her boyfriend Ryan a few months back. He was trouble, not only for her but any friend he could talk into helping in his schemes. Ryan called, sounding sober and charming; she agreed to pick him up to go to dinner. He asked to stop at the convenience store/gas station. Several minutes later when she looked out the window Anna realized what Ryan was doing, and ran to the store to stop him.
The police showed up. In cuffs and a gun pointing at her she was trying to convince the policeman she was not part of “this” when Domus barreled around the corner knocking them down.
Domus, having decided to run home, turned the corner and barreled into a policeman and Anna. Some of his winnings were knocked from the money bag he used which the policeman saw. The policeman with the gun turned and yelled for Domus to stop. Domas reflectively responded and the policeman and his fellow officers were sleeping on the ground. Ryan received a punch in the nose.
Domus grabbed Anna and took off in Buhla. Duman, all six foot six cramped into Anna’s Beetle.
Although he would rather not, Domus decided the only safe place was his safe house in the dragon realm. He gave Anna the choice to come with him or stay and face the police.
Besides good times there were some tense times staying concealed waiting for it to be safe for them to go back to the human realm. Although they were mostly stuck in the safe house things were good … until Anna was kidnapped.
Because the female dragons have not been able to get pregnant for centuries there is concern for their race. A few dragons had fallen in love and mated with human females and they were able to have children. Some of he other dragons learn that a human female could get pregnant. These were a group of dragons, even royalty, who kidnapped human women, because these dragons would not believe that without love and a true mate the human women would not get pregnant.
Why did Domus not want to return to the dragon realm? Was Domus able to save Anna from the kidnappers – of course – can’t have a HEA otherwise? But you need to read all the action and how Domus was able to save her and others.
In the beginning of the story is quite intriguing with enough action, producing a desire for you to want me more. As the book progressed I was eager to see how it played out. I did find the story to have a slow progression to getting to the point. The interaction between the characters was palatable.
Very grateful to find Anna was not an annoying character. At the beginning I was concerned when her eyes started tearing up (more than once) she was going to be portrayed as a weak character with a "damsel in distress" theme. Nothing wrong with that but it gets old after a while; especially when you see it throughout many books.
Dom is a strong alpha male character is that is slow to allow anyone into his inner circle or inner peace. He is a very guarded man with a very soft and tender heart. His character was well written and I was appreciative of the character not being petty as well as not prolonging the obvious attraction he has to Anna.
This book is an easy, somewhat action filled romantic predictable read. It is the type of good book you could settle down with for the evening and finish before you go to bed. Enjoy!

I'm glad I signed up to read and review this ARC by a new author for me, Angela Black. This was a great shifter romance story with my favorite subject - dragons. I totally enjoyed the writing style and the story of Anna and Domus. Anna a struggling woman making a living doing cons and Domus a dragon making a living stealing and gambling meet when her ex-boyfriend Ryan invites her to dinner and on the way they stop at a convenience store that he robs. The police catch her ex-boyfriend and Anna outside the store. Meanwhile Domus after a winning streak of cards runs into the scene and to escape being arrested too takes Anna and her car to his portal to the dragon world. He asks Anna to choose to stay in her world with the cops after her or to go with him where no humans are allowed and they have to run and hide? Does she trust her feelings to go with Domus? I loved Mab the supporting mother figure and both Anna and Domus were longing to better themselves and have someone to love and support them. I volunteer to read and review this ARC by Booksprout.
Once again we delve back into the world of the dragons. Well sort of...lol. We meet Domus, a dragon shifter, living in the human world. He is at a poker game where he knows he will win and does. Then off he goes. On the way back to his home he runs, literally, into some cops arresting a woman with a man trying to lay the blame on her. The police try to take him out but being a dragon they are no match for him. Then he grabs the woman and her car and off they go. He tells her they must leave this world and go back into his and she agrees. They arrive in the dragon realm and lets just say adventure galore as well as a healthy dose of love is in the air. But as normal that love comes with alot of danger. Fantastic story and read!!

I really liked this story as even though it is part of a series it really didn't feel like it. It was a true stand alone story. I am pretty sure that it mentioned characters from before but it does not harp on them. It makes me want to pick those stories up because of the way the author wrote instead of leaving clues or talking about things that are not explained. I had a couple of LOL moments with the way Dom and Anna interact. The ending was sweet and left things open for more stories to come. As a warning to some it does touch on sexual assault and abuse so that is a warning to some. It is NOT graphic in that area but does discuss it and the effects of it.

Dom takes Anna into the dragon realm to escape the police in the human world after her ex is caught up in a robbery. Together they discover they are mates and the story involves an ex-boyfriend, escape to the dragon realm, kidnapped by a dragon lord, and many other events that shape this into a great story. It is well written and full of action that keeps your attention. The story is a continuation that leaves you with the next leg of the journey of dragon shifters into the human world. I would highly recommend this book.
Here is a story that fast paced with complex characters. This story has drama, betrayal, new relationships, old relationships, new love and learning how strong the soul of a person really is. This story hooks the reader from the beginning til the end and if you like shifters then you'll love this story. I can't wait to read more.

**Spoilers possibly ahead** Domus is a very talented thief and liar and is on the run from his own kind. And Anna has the absolute worst taste in men. Anna may be a talented con artist but she has a soft heart. Luckily she's saved by Domus and transported to a relm of long lived shifters and into a world slowly going infertile. I have to say this is a great book!! This book has been amazing to read!!

One framed woman, one dragon rescuer, a new world. Domus and Anna find that they both have a lot in common. They also find a love that transcends time. There' s a lot of action and mental healing. There is something for everyone. Domus is a wonderfully refreshing read.

Great series, awesome book. Angel Black has captured my attention with this series and has been added to my "Authors To Watch" collection. There are all sorts of things going on in the dragon realm with human females. Action, violence and thevpromise of a HEA. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good love story with a paranormal twist.
I liked this story. It's a new world and the stories will get better and better. Domus is a classic Love story. With bad dragons and all. I think that you will enjoy it very much. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
I really loved this book Anna and Domus really had a connection from the beginning. It has good dragons versus bad dragons funny action packed romance just the what I love to read most I could not put this book down until the end.
Such a good story. I fell in love with Domus from the start. He's your typical bad boy. Yet, it's funny, Anna isn't the girl next door; she's actually a bad girl. Yet, they work. Great story and I love Valen's relationship with Dom.
This is my first book by Angel and I believe he has a promising future! I thoroughly enjoyed "Domus" and I look forward to read more of his work!
Domus and Anna's story has a good storyline and characters that are strong. Anna is a woman who's been screwed over in life and had to deal with life in a less than favorable manner. Domus is a dragon shifter who had no love for his kind and ran into the human realm to live a free lifestyle. When they're lives cross, both realms and both of their lives will all change!
