Sometimes called the "Romans of the Old Testament," the book of Isaiah is a theological masterpiece. Not only does it deliver some of the most beautiful poetry in the Bible, but it also gives us a glimpse into God's perspective on human history and his magnificent redemptive plan. Kathleen Nielson helps us apply this book to ourselves as the people of God and points us to our Savior, the promised Messiah.

I love Isaiah and this was an incredibly helpful Bible study tool. It helped me connect heart and head, as it consistently pointed me to the King, Servant, and Conqueror. I learned much. It was long because Isaiah is long. Towards the end I was ready to be done. But that has more to do with me and my attention span than Nielson’s writing/guidance!
For someone, looking to study the book of Isaiah and doing so in its’ entirety, this is a great study. I thought that there were some really great thought-provoking questions but also questions at times that could’ve been left off and/or not as clear as I would like for them to have been. A few of the ladies in our group struggled with some of the questions. But for the most part, it was all well thought out and easy to understand. Just required time and the desire to invest in doing a long-term study.
Not as in depth theologically as I had hoped it would be. It's more of a lesson book for someone who is unfamiliar with the theology or history involved. It may fair better in rating had that been my purpose in ordering. I was able to gleam a couple helpful things from it so it may stay as a reference book or one I can pass along to someone just starting to study.
Def recommend these Bible Study resources that help you to think/absorb your way through Isaiah. It was so rewarding to complete and I feel little I have a deeper perspective on who God is and His plan for mankind. If you are looking for an easy study, this is not it, but she does lead with questions that make you dig deeper.
My first solo study of any book of the Bible and the most powerful life changing study I have ever done. Kathleen with her masterful grasp of literary structure and her many accreditations in literature is not an easy understudy by any means. For this I love her! I am grateful to her and the incredible women who have served as dear spiritual Ironwoman triathletes to me in their mentorship, teaching, and encouragement. What an incredible four years.
Another great book study by Nielson! Went thru' this book with friends at a Friday morning Bible study this school year. It was a great study, I learned a lot! But Isaiah is a tough book of the Bible to get thru'... all the history and symbolism. I regularly got more out of the discussions than the study on my own, which is why this is a great book to go thru' with others.
