Hudson Tamell is a blue-collar single father. He’s funny, hot in that panty-melting sort of way—exactly the type of guy I’d crawl between the sheets with.
Only problem? He’s looking to settle down, and I’m not.
I have big plans to leave this town behind. The last thing I should do is get tangled up with a guy like him.
So please explain to me why the moment he looks at me from under the hood of my car, the sarcastic replies on my lips come out sounding sweeter. Why does he make me want to settle down, right here…with him?
He’s not what I wanted.
But maybe he’s what I need…
Here's to Forever, a follow-up novella, is available now!
TEAGAN HUNTER writes steamy romantic comedies with lots of sarcasm and a side of heart. She loves pizza, hockey, and romance novels, though not in that order. When not writing, you can find her watching entirely too many hours of Supernatural, One Tree Hill, or New Girl. She’s mildly obsessed with Halloween and prefers cooler weather. She married her high school sweetheart, and they currently live in the PNW.

I truly enjoyed this. I liked how the characters met and how the attraction, to getting to know each other, to relationship played out.
Hudson was a great hero. Funny, likeable, a great father. And Rae was an equally likeable heroine.
Their banter was great, and we got to truly experience the build up to a great relationship. It was not rushed, they both had issues to overcome. Nervousness over what the other would feel.
I really did enjoy it, although not sure how forgiving I would have been near the end with what happens with Joey when she was under Rae's care but other than that, I have not one thing negative to say about it.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Let me start off by saying that, I frickin loved this book! Such a great story about finding the love you're always meant to have. I don't want to give anything away but this is truly a great read.
Hudson & Rae are 100% real! The way they talk and act are so real. Nothing seems made up or forced and I believed in their connection from page one. Joey has got to be one of my fave child characters in awhile. So cute.
The references to Supernatural, Will Cooper & Colleen Hoover make this a must buy. Seriously.
Such a great story. I'm looking forward to many more books from this very promising new author.
Wanna read a sweet story filled with real people? Wanna experience all the feels of a romance that's slow and steady, and not insta love throw them on the bed right now? Well then, this is the story for you. :)
Rae is trying to find her place in this world. She's not real sure what she's going to do, but she thinks she has to leave to do it. She is a straightforward, speak her mind kinda girl. She says it like it is. No sugar coating whatsoever. And when she stumbles upon Hudson, leaving town doesn't look all that promising anymore.
Hudson hasn't the greatest past few years, but he's worked his tail off to get to this point in his life where everything is just about perfect. And then he meets this little spitfire of a girl and she knocks him for a loop.
I loved the realness of this story. From the sweet talking to the honest to goodness struggles of each person made me feel like I was reading non-fiction. This was a nice surprise from a debut novel. I can't wait to see what comes next for these characters!!
DNF- Ok, I deserve a reward for getting to 30%. OMG I fill like I've been held down and had love and feelings poured down my throat. SERIOUSLY-GAG!!!! Way too much, way too soon. Sure a few thoughts of how perfect it could be or how he/she is but not like this. OVERBOARD. And I'm trying to be nice here. A teaspoon full of perfect is doable. Don't drown me.
When I read the first chapter I thought this was going to be a great book. The banter between Hudson and Rae were the best, easy conversations. The beginning connection, that spark felt rushed to me. Their thoughts, the feeling of the eyes on them. This was overboard for me. It was more of a deep attraction instead of the way everything was zeroed in on so quickly. There doesn't always have to be this boom electric connection. Sometimes the attraction that grows to love is the best part of a story. I love the way he says my name, love her voice, he smiles; I melt....We just stare into each others eyes
Thinking a little too hard about the intense stared Hudson and I have shared since I met him. There have been a lot.see she admits it!A lot more than I thought there were. I'm surprisingly okay with this little realization.nope, not feeling it at all I can feel something in them. Something new, something intriguing. I like it.
Very slow, with not much happening. The leads were your ordinary people, that live ordinary lives. 80% of the story was their courtship that amounted to them really liking each other, but having plenty of "she likes me, he likes me not"...heavy on the she/he likes me. Secondary characters were all good as well, and just as ordinary. If I had one word to describe it, that would be boring. Anything that could give it some added umph was quickly taken care of or dismissed..even the twist at the end. The writing was good though, no editing issues , and both leads were good people that were responsible and all around just good people. Reading back over this review, It was as boring as my description of them, and this review that echoes "blah".
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, and heartbreak.
This is Rae and Hudson’s story. Hudson has not had a easy life. Single dad to a girl at 17 and he has worked hard to provide and care for her. Now s the years have gone by he feels he did good. But they had struggles. When he meets Rae he is smitten. She is sassy and funny. He knows she is not for him but that does not stop him for looking. Rae can’t wait to get out of this small town. She wants out in the worst way but one look and a few glances and she is falling. Is she going to run away from Hudson no matter how much he draws her in only because she does not want to stay in this town? Or will she be willing to settle in this town for the right reason and man?
I love the chemistry between these two. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I received an advanced ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review!
This one unfortunately didn't quite work to my tastes. It had all the potential, but something about the writing style just didn't work for me. It felt really slow to start, taking me almost 40% before I finally got hooked. The beginning just felt like a lot of detail in each character's minds, and to me felt a bit more "telling" instead of "showing". And there was some repetitiveness that probably didn't help me.
This is a totally sweet story -- which normally I'm all for. Strangely enough, this one was too sweet for me (at least the beginning). I had a hard time believing it. Like it was all too perfect. That's probably why I did finally get into it about 40% in, b/c things started to feel more real, and less shiny (if that makes any sense).
Good things: once I got into the story, I started to get a better feel for the characters and enjoyed all the snark and bantering in the many secondary relationships (Perry, Tucker and Gaige being my faves). And once I got over myself with how "perfect" everything was seeming, I did enjoy the sweet getting to know each other stage for Hudson and Rae.
So, basically, if you're reading the book and feeling like I was, try to hold on b/c the story does ramp up and settle into itself eventually.
This was ok. You can definitely tell this was Teagan’s first novel. She had some growing pains and had definitely grown as an author. This was just kinda vanilla in depth and needed some finesse. It wasn’t bad and I didn’t mind the drama towards the end but then it all just wrapped up real quick after that. I think this is forgettable but its an easy read and would be a great low key beach read.
My first ever Teagan Hunter book and I was not disappointed in the least! It was everything I had heard it to be. Cute, funny and very sweet. I loved Hudson and his love for his daughter Joey. She was a treat! I adored watching them together.
Rae was honestly hilarious. I just loved her quirkiness and attitude. She was pretty great and I loved watching her and Hudson fall in love. The sparks were there from the start and the connection grew with every glance, every exchange. These two were honestly amazing to watch. Seriously a very sweet and cute love story. I laughed out loud so much, and there were so many cute and funny references. I enjoyed it so much. And besides being funny, it also had a little angst which I of course loved. This trio was for sure a good time and I enjoyed them and Teagan's words so much.

I freakin' LOVE this book!!! There's no doubt about that. I had the most amazing opportunity to read this book while it was being written and I completely fell completely in love with Hudson and Rae’s story. I was dying for more each time it ended. I found out how others felt when they’ve had friends or family writing their debut self-published novel and how they always wanted more each time they reached the end of what was written. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know the author online over the past year or so and can totally see her personality shine in this book. Rae and her could easily be the same person After the story was completed I was given an ARC for an honest review. Well I’m sure the author already knew how I felt about this book because I couldn’t contain my love for it but I need to get this out for the rest of you. This story is basically a romantic comedy. It does have some profanity in it so a more mature audience is recommended. The characters are so real and hilarious! Rae just speaks her mind and well it’s kind of contagious when her and Hudson start spending time together. They both fall for each other in a short amount of time but when you know, you know, right? Hudson and Rae both have some secrets though and does add some complications to the relationship. Will there love be able to survive when they are out in the open? You’ll have to read the amazing book and find out for yourself!! Her mention of Will Cooper, Slammed by/and Colleen Hoover and a few others are cute tie ins. I am totally completely in love with this debut book and can’t wait to see what Teagan writes for the next one in this series! This is a MUST read for 2015!
Wow. Where do I begin. I LOVED this story. To read about love and tomorrows makes you feel so part of the book. For being the authors first book, I would never have known by reading this but I knew before hand so - watch out because I believe this author is good.
Everything happens for a reason
Rae & Hudson's story will have you hooked. A heartfelt story that makes you feel part of the book. You will have all kinds of emotions while reading and the chemistry between the two is hot. I love the both of their personality's and non filter of what comes out of the mouth. It's straight up, no going around what you say/mean. Joey is just a girl you want to have at your side all the time. The reference to Will Cooper & Colleen Hoover is awesome.
Here's to Tomorrow
One day at a time. No rushing to what holds in the future. It's day by day.
You want a romance that will keep you on your feet, make you swoon and just keep it real then you need to read this book. You won't regret it, I can promise you that. The author did an amazing job and I look forward to reading more from the author.
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
I think it is always delicate to review an ARC or a gifted copy from authors. And when the author is your friend I find it even more chalenging. But with this book? No.Problem.At.All!!!
Everything happens for a reason.
This book is Teagan Hunter's debut novel and if I hadn't known I wouldn't have thought it was. It is very well written and sincere. It's positive, fun, it makes you smile most of the ride. It's real, honest and so heartwarming. If you need all that, this is for you!
Heres to tomorrow.... and after that you will want more!! I absolutely loved this book. As a debut book for this author I can't wait to see where Rae and Hudson will go... These are 100% real characters with an instant connection that you feel from page one. I love how spunky Rae is.. so straightforward and if she's thinking it... your going to know it! Its a great story about love and finding and what will be will be.. Theres some secrets, some complications and emotions... a must read for 2015
The blurb caught my interest and the fact that this author will be at Book Bonanza and I want to read as many books as possible before I go.
But...this book was a little slow for me. At times it got caught up in the details and those details weren't always necessary. I did enjoy the characters. Joey is super cute and such a sweet little girl. Hudson is a wonderful dad that really put his daughter first which is very admirable! Rae was a little all over the place crazy (in a good way). The characters are great!
My problem came from when Hudson doesn't say anything to Rae about having a daughter. I get not letting her meet Joey yet but I think he should have been a little more upfront about her. I guess it worked out since Rae doesn't normally like children but still bothered me..
Overall, the story is fairly low drama wise, I sometimes look for just simple stories and this was perfect. I'm interested to see what more is to come for Tucker and Gaige and how their stories will unfold. Hopefully the stories will be a little faster paced.
Anyone else confused about what day it is today? I can’t get it through my head that today is Tuesday. I have to keep reminding myself of what day it is. Can’t wait for that pattern to continue throughout the rest of the week. 🙄
Here’s to Tomorrow by Teagan Hunter has been on my shelf for a long time. I remembered that it was on Kindle Unlimited and decided to finally pick it up. It’s the first book in a trilogy about a woman who meets a man when her car breaks down and she brings it to his shop. There’s an instant connection between the two, but they both have things that cause them to not want a relationship.
❤️Review❤️
I’m going to try to review this in the kindest way possible. It reads like her debut book, which is great because I believe it was her debut. I found both characters to be immature. Their dialogue got to be way too much. Inner and outer included. It almost felt like a book that was written for fun, but wasn’t meant to be out there. It could have used some more editing and revising to take it more seriously. The majority of the book is pretty immature and slow burn. They don’t even kiss until about 70% in and then when they finally do it there’s about 50 pages to go. Those last 50 pages got so intense and deep that it didn’t match the beginning tones of the book at all. They felt like two different entities. I wasn’t really satisfied with how it was handled or discussed. Overall I’m glad I know her writing is better than this because if this was my first book by her it would have been my last.
Here's to Tomorrow is a great read. Rae is super funny. She says whatever is on her mind and she had me laughing at some points. She recently graduated from college and is back home. She doesn't plan on sticking around very long. She doesn't have the best memories of her mom so kids are not something she wants. Hudson is a single Dad. He's struggled and worked hard for what he has. Rae bursts into his life and there is a connection. Neither one is looking for love. It's not all fun there are some bumps in the road for them.
Rae and Hudson were my introduction to a series I never saw coming and an author I never thought to explore. Both left me pleasantly surprised. Here's to Tomorrow takes a bit of a hard road to love, but in the most adorably simple way. For Rae and Hudson, their path consists of learning from past mistakes and taking a chance on future happiness. There's a sweetness to the angst. Great beginning to what looks to be an unforgettable series.
I absolutely loved this read from Teagan Hunter. I loved her writing style in her Testing series, so was excited to check this series out and see what it was like. I instantly fell in love with Rae and Hudson. Their sparks flew from the start, and I loved their banter. They were truly made for each other! And, let’s not forget sweet Joey Bug. Bless her, my mamma mode came out, and I instantly fell in love with her. I loved how Hudson was with her. Hats off and 4 stars to Hunter for this fantabulously captivating read! Can’t wait to read the next one!
*This book was purchased by me. All opinions, negative or positive, are my own.*
Does Rae ever get a job? Does she even care about a career any longer? Does she forgive *cough cough* people? Does Joey’s mom ever come back? What happens?!
I was just left with too many loose threads.
There was also waaay too much use of the word “dude.”
“Shouldn’t you at least buy me dinner before you screw me?”
When a book starts with a sassy comment like this I just know that this is my kind of heroine.
Meet Rae Kamden, she has no idea what she wants to do. She just knows that she needs to move to the city of Boston. I mean she wants the hustle and bustle of the big town, so she does what she thinks is going to get her there. She’s a waitress, which is weird since she graduated with a degree in marketing, but I guess this will help get her to the city. What she wasn’t expecting was Hudson Tamell to come into her life.
He looks up at me and our eyes collide for more than half a second for the first time. And holy hell was this worth the wait.
They’re beautiful. Swirls of dark and light green with just a smidge of blue. The colors blend perfectly together, like the ocean on a stormy day.
Hudson is a 24 year old mechanic. He has everything that he needs right now. He has a plan on how to better himself and all his ducks are lined up. He doesn’t have time to fall in love, or lust. The last thing he planned for is this beautiful creature to end up in his garage station with a busted car. But one look is all it took, oh and her sassy mouth didn't hurt either!
I can’t seem to look away, though. I’ve already tried a few times. She’s beautiful. Not the in-your face, runway beautiful, but a subtle kind of beautiful. The best kind of beautiful. The real reason I can’t look away? Not only does it look kissable, it’s…weird. The best kind of weird.
I swear if my car ever needs servicing I’m going straight to him... So imagine their surprise when they are both escorting their best friends on a date. This blind date just got better.
“Sorry about that.” I freeze as my date sits down next to me. “I went to the bathroom and got a phone call I couldn’t miss.”
I know that voice. It’s a voice that’s been haunting me for the last three weeks. A voice that I honestly can’t get enough of. A voice I’ve been dying to hear again. A voice that makes me want to love blind dates.
I suddenly don’t want to go anywhere. In fact, I kind of want to stay here forever.
I turn toward my “mystery” man. “Hudson. Good to see you again.”
So now that they have both been out together, and have thoroughly enjoyed themselves they decide to date. I mean it’s simple right? Except they both have secrets, secrets that they have no idea how will affect the other or how they will react. One thing is for sure is that there is always a tomorrow, but will they both be there standing?
Here's to Tomorrow will make you believe in love for real.
Rae and Hudson's story is truly beautiful. And fun if I might add. Rae is a bit weird but that's what makes her special and honestly, freaking hilarious!
“Shouldn't you at least buy me dinner before you screw me? ”
See what I mean? First line of the book and I was laughing to death. She is amazing and one of my favorite female characters of all time.
“Meeting someone that you like right away, someone you click with instantly, is a very unusual event.”
Hudson and Rae make such a wonderful couple. They complete each other. And I love that. I love how independant Rae is and I love how Hudson respects that and admires it. When they first met, there were fireworks, for them, and I'm sure that for the readers too. They are SO GOOD together.
“It feels like we feed off one another's vibes rather quickly.”
Their connection is one of the best connections I've read in a book. It makes you feel that they are real. And with that comes the hard times. Their daily troubles. Their struggles and how they overcome them.
“So this? This short laugh-filled car ride with Rae? It feels good. Really good.”
But even though their problems will probably make you cry, they show you how they do it. With love, patience, hope and forgiveness. Hudson and Rae are real. Their connection, their feelings, their emotions, their dreams and everything they share is real. This is romance, pure romance.
“Last night was everything I thought it was going to be-awkward, sweet, fun. This morning was everything I hoped it would be-amazing, beautiful, meaningful.”
This story will take you on for a ride. You will laugh, cry, fall in love, and swoon. Because Rae and Hudson's love is heartwarming and everything you'd like in a relationship.
“I smile. Because this? This is bliss. This is my tomorrow. My forever. My everything.”
And just to be really really clear. Hudson has position #1 on Book Boyfriends list. He is worth swooning over, example:
“You're funny, you're real, you're absolutely gorgeous, and you're smart. You're the perfect package. You have the weirdest sense of humor and it meshes perfectly with mine. You... Fuck...I didn't even know I was missing anything until you...It's just you. I love you”
Here's To Tomorrow is your typical New Adult book, except that both main characters are out of college already. I like reading books with slightly older protagonists since I am not in my early twenties anymore myself. ;) The storyline of this novel was simple and easy. Not the "bad-simple-and-easy", it was the "good-simple-and-easy", if that does make any sense at all. Of course Hudson and Rae's relationship was not sunshine and rainbows all the time, they had to deal with some stuff too, but what relationship doesn't? Their difficulties were not overly heavy and didn't overshadow the entire story. Since a lot of authors try too hard with a dramatic and traumatic storyline, I am glad that Teagan decided to focus on the positive things in this one.
I loved Hudson. He was sweet, patient, funny and the perfect gentleman. A lot of male protagonists are cocky, too alpha-male, too well-built and way too full of themselves. Although Hudson was confident and handsome, he was also shy, responsible and very humble. He took his time getting to know Rae and that made his intentions way more genuine than a guy who wants everything a little too fast. A lot of female characters in NA books are shy and reserved but not Rae. She had no filter whatsoever. She was sassy and said everything that came to her mind. Hudson was totally smitten with that character feature and why should he not? I wish more girls and women in real life would have less of a filter. It's a part of your personality, so be proud of it. And if a guy doesn't like it, well, too bad for him. ;) Rae's no-filter mouth was refreshing, and besides in real life, I wish that more female book characters were like that.
Here's To Tomorrow was a great start to a new series. I can't wait to read the follow-ups in this series and find out what's going to happen with the rest of the gang.
Fantastic debut novel!!! I loved this book so much and can't wait for more. These characters are so relatable. You can see yourself hanging with these people. It's very refreshing to read "real" people. The banter between Rae & Hudson is perfection. I loved them soooo much. Actually, the banter between everyone was perfect. I need an older sister like Haley in my life, EVERYONE needs a Joey in their life, and best friends like Maura, Perry and Gaige. Tucker well he's more than BFF material.... ;) I can't wait to get more of all of these people!!! Kudos to a fantastic 1st Teagan and to many more!!
Rae's car breaks down and she takes it to Hudson's shop. Instalove. Except Hudson has a 7 yr old daughter Rae has ongoing nightmares which aren't thoroughly addressed AT ALL and feels lost... with no explanation or information, it's hard to connect with her character.
Character development here was shallow; there's issues surrounding mental illness which is given such short shrift... And the end... I was mad for her. There are some really significant issues here that are just not addressed. Ugh.
