Kann is a lion shifter from another world. Literally. Even though he’s learned how to walk, talk, dress and sound just like everyone else in Mystery, Alaska, he still can't find his mate.

…with soulmates. Which means the magick of his world did cross over to earth with the survivors.
Penny is on the run, being chased at a breakneck pace over the Alaskan countryside. She can't trust anyone and knows it's only a matter of time until she's caught.
When she meets Kann, the sexy backwoods, plaid-shirted man from Mystery, she’s instantly attracted. However, she can’t afford a distraction and she doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt when they come for her.
Except, Kann has never met an objection he couldn't overcome. With patience and determination, he wins Penny over inch by inch. But will Penny's past steal everything from both of them?

USA Today Bestselling Author Krystal Shannan lives in a sprawling ranch style home with her husband, teenage son, and two almost teenage daughters. Her home is full of love and laughter and lots of animals. In fact the welcome mat warns visitors that it’s a zoo inside—chickens, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, dogs and fish! You name it, they’ve probably had it in their home at some point.
Krystal writes stories filled with magick, fantasy, passion, and just enough humor to make you laugh out loud. Join the fun and escape to a whole new world.
I loved this book and I loved this series and this author is seriously awesome-sauce and I don't care that it's a total insta, it's flat out the sweetest thing and I can't stop awwing :p
Penny saw something that she shouldn't have and ran away as fast as she could. She came to Mystery, Alaska and everyone seems to want to help her but she doesn't know if she can trust them and doesn't want them to get caught in the cross fire if the bad guys come looking for her.
Kann cannot believe that his mate walked right into the store he was in but instead of falling for him right away the way he thinks she should, she's scared. He knows that he's going to have to give her some room and some time.
Penny is attracted to Kann but she's not sure she can trust him, he might have followed her there so he can kill her. It isn't until the store owner tells her that he's been there for a while and his friends are in the cabin near hers that she finally calms down enough to let him help her a little bit. Since the snow is thick when she gets there, she needs a little help getting around and he has no problem helping her out. He knows she's running from something and it takes a little time before she shares with him what made her run away from her life. Once these two give into their lust though, there's no stopping them from getting closer. When she is introduced to the rest of his friends at their cabin, I loved all of them. This is the second book in the series and I started reading this out of order but half way through this book I went and grabbed the first book because I want to read the whole series now.
The real surprise is that Kann has a huge secret too. He's a lion shifter and he and his friends are from another world that was destroyed by volcanoes. All of his friends are shifters and they are great. I cannot wait to read their stories now When danger does come looking for her like I knew it would, they find themselves in more danger than they thought they would be in. I really enjoyed how this wrapped up. Kann might be from another world but he and his tribe are definitely getting used to being on Earth even if some things aren't completely understood by them yet. That just made some of the scenes funny.
DNF at 10%. I'm tired of heroines thinking that they're ugly! It's obnoxious. Also, I know this is fated mates, but I am just not in the mood for instalust
Mystery, Alaska is growing and the wonderful characters not only steal reader’s hearts but they provide fascinating, exciting and passionate entertainment.
The second book in the Soulmate Shifters in Mystery, Alaska series, I’m Not Lion To You has strong, charismatic characters that really pull readers into their story and they refuse to let them go. Kann is a sexy lion shifter from another world and hasn’t been able to find his mate until she walks right into the grocery store making his lion stand up and roar. Penny is running from someone who wants her dead and she really can’t afford distractions and she sure doesn’t know who she can trust. Together these two characters embark on a bonding journey that is full of electrifying chemistry, steamy romance and heated passion including some lava inducing sexy scenes although the relationship has quite a few obstacles that add intrigue and emotional depth to the story ensuring that readers want to know everything that happens to this couple.
The fast paced plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat with lots of exhilarating action, thrilling suspense, sexy warriors and a heroine that is tough but surprisingly vulnerable at the same time. The story keeps readers on the edge of their seats as the couple try to keep Penny hidden while they work on their relationship but the bad guy has brought reinforcements and will stop at nothing to acquire Penny.
Krystal Shannan has done it again...held me captive from the beginning of her story until the very end, there was no way I could put the book down once I started reading it and the small town atmosphere of Mystery, Alaska adds a little something extra to the book. Honestly, I beginning to wonder if the residents have a few secrets of their own…I can’t wait to find out.
OMG I knew I was going to love this new series, it is witty and oh so loving! These aliens have managed to put their differences aside even though they were mortal enemies on their lost world... This dragon prince and the 3 warriors along with Col's human mate Naomi have manged to form a little family, or tribe as they call it.
Penny is on the run after seeing a brutal execution committed by her boss. She has to leave Anchorage as soon as she can before he finds out what she saw and comes after her. She winds up in Mystery, Alaska hoping to stay under the radar, but a certain hot weirdo won't leave her side, but whats a girl to do with such a yummy looking crazy?
Lion shifter Kann never thought to see the magical soul light on earth, sure his chief found his, but he never imagined it would happen for him. But as Naomi taught them, they must be very careful and patient on how they come across to humans and this lovely is very human. A human who he can tell is very scared of something, but it's not him because all he can smell is arousal when he is near, no matter how grumpy she acts. So how will she act when he has to tell her that he is not of this world?
I so enjoy these shifters from another world, the way they cherish females is heartwarming...I so look forward to seeing this tribe grow.
The second book in this series is just as good as the first. It's Kann's time to meet his mate but she is on the run and can't trust anyone but she also feels a strong pull to Kann. A really good romantic suspense story with a few laughs thrown in!
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

This is my second time reading this book, that's how much I enjoyed and truthfully it's been so many years since I first read it, that I enjoyed it just as much as the first time it is witty and oh so loving! These aliens have managed to put their differences aside even though they were mortal enemies on their lost world... This dragon prince and the 3 warriors along with Col's human mate Naomi have manged to form a little family, or tribe as they call it.

This is the second book in the Soulmate Shifters in Mystery, Alaska series. This one is just as good as the first. Penny Matheson is on the run after seeing her boss execute some people. She packs a bag, grabs some cash and runs. She leaves her phone, computer & credit cards behind so he can't trace where she has gone. She winds up in Mystery, Alaska, a small town that is home to some shifters from another world. One is Kann, a lion shifter, who sees Penny in the grocery store and knows that she is his mate. Now to convince Penny of it and to convince her she's with him and his shifter family.
There's action, suspense, some humor and hot romance. Highly recommend and can't wait for the next Mystery story!!
This is Kann and Penny's story. Kann wasn't so sure that the magic from his world traveled through the portal with them. That is until he sees his mates soul glow in the local store. Penny is running from a terrifying ordeal. When she gets to Mystery she doesn't know how to handle everyone being so nice and supportive. Especially one big sexy man by the name of Kann. Penny's been alone all her life no family no friends just work. When Kann keeps telling her that she's soul mate she has a hard time accepting it. When trouble finds Penny the whole tribe will need to pull together to save not only her but themselves. I love this series.
Witnessing a murder by your boss is not a good thing...witnessing the execution style murder of several people is even worse! Finding a place to hide where you can't be located could prove impossible! Great story, second in this new series of shifters from an alternate world and their human mates. Worth reading!
This is a well written standalone fantasy paranormal lion-shifter romance story featuring a strong human female and an alpha male lion from another world with an inclination for safe-guarding and satisfying his mate. Loved the storyline, loved the characters, love shifter stories!
Penny had been offered a job at Vicenti Inc., right out of MIT. As one of the most reputable weapons engineers in the world, everyone knew the name Penelope Matheson. It is just her luck she picked a job and a company run by criminals. Until a few hours ago, Penny’s life had been normal. Her boss, Jake, was all smiles and charm, but Penny had seen him kill people and it would only be a matter of time before he would come looking for her. Mystery is barely a dot on the map, but Penny hopes she will be safe there; all she has are the clothes on her back, a few things she had tucked into her purse and hope. As a lion shifter and warrior from Reylea, Kann finds so many things about this world different and complicated, but Kann had taken to the culture quickly. Col is the leader of their Tribe; Kann didn’t want to be the one making hard choices, preferring to take orders and protecting those around him. The moment Kann sees Penny in the grocery shop he knows she is his mate; she is glowing all over with Reylean soul magick. Kann has worked hard to fit in with humans but when he approaches Penny he doesn’t understand her reaction to him. Penny hated being afraid and alone, but Kann is a stranger coming on rather strong in her opinion. In Penny’s relationships, men didn’t like the fact she was independent, smart and capable. Penny didn’t read people well; they often confused her and took advantage of her. Kann is hypnotic and Penny feels attracted to him; she didn’t usually take the time to notice men, but this man was like a force of nature that wouldn’t be dismissed and his directness is refreshingly pleasant. Penny cannot afford any distractions right now; all she wants to do is lay low and stay off the radar, but is she so paranoid she cannot accept help from Kann? Someone or something has his mate running scared, but Kann would protect her; he didn’t realise how the soul call would affect him, but his world rotated around her now. They were not bound yet, but would Penny accept him and the Tribe when she finds out he isn’t human; his lion isn’t worried, so why should he be. Penny has a short time to prepare for a fight that could very possibly end her life; involving Kann and his friends wasn’t an option because Jake would target anyone she interacted with. Sweet, funny and strong, Kann has managed to make her smile on the worst day of her life. Finally, Penny has found a man who actually seems interested in her; not her abilities or connections, but her as a woman. Kann has hidden the truth of who he is from Penny, but in the end it didn’t make any difference. His lion is relaxed enjoying the attention; Penny has amazement written all over her face and so many questions. From the moment Kann first saw Penny he had genuine hope that with her he would have a family and a future. Fate didn’t make a mistake; she is part of their Tribe now and they protect their own. Penny wants to protect the Tribe too; she would need to teach them how to shoot. Kann had been right from the beginning; Penny had gone off the grid to give herself the best possible chance to win, to survive, and now she has someone to survive for, besides herself. Kann has shown her she can have something amazing; she has been welcomed into his world, into his family, his Tribe’s life, their home. They were willing to fight for her, protect her. How did she get so lucky; yet it wasn’t luck it was Fate and she was now starting to believe in it. Kann can feel Penny growing closer, reaching out to him, learning to depend on him and relying on the others in the Tribe as well. They were becoming her family, but it was difficult for her and he would continue to be patient. The right time would present itself and when it did he would be ready to give her his soul; she already had his heart. Jake has found Penny, but how? Penny will not survive without Kann and if this is to be her end she wants it to be with him. Penny wishes she had had time to tell Kann all the things she had held back; that he and his Tribe had offered her something she has never had a chance to know her entire life, a family. If only there had been more time…Then again Fate really did move in mysterious ways!! I enjoyed reading this book and would have no hesitation in recommending it. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
I loved this second book in the Soulmate Shifters series. I think it is even better than the first one, mostly because the tribe has settled in now with most of the players in place. It is, of course, insta-love, but insta-love of the best kind.
Penny has fled her home and job in Anchorage to a little village in the wild. Finding a bush pilot leaving at just the right moment was a stroke of good luck after what she had witnessed. The small town of Mystery was a perfect place to hide and consider her options. She doesn't realize that her options are going to include a tribe of shifters, most from another world, and her mate.
Kann is a lion-shifter and a warrior. Or at least he was a warrior on Reylea. Now he was just another Joe trying to make it in the human world. He and his fellow Reyleans, and one former human who was turned Reylean, are doing their best to fit into this world and keep their other sides hidden from humans. When Kann sees Penny come into the local general store, he immediately recognizes the glow around her as the sign that she is his mate. Now how will he explain that to a human woman? And what is she so afraid of? He means to find out and convince her that she is safe with him.
I can't wait to see who will find their mate next. The end of the book held a couple of announcements that will definitely make the next books more interesting.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Penelope "Penny" Matheson works at Vicenti Inc and when she sees her boss, Jake, execute people when she is not supposed to be in the building she knows she needs to get out of town as soon as possible and go somewhere that he hopefully will never find her.
Kann is a lion shifter and is finding his place in Alaska after his homeland was destroyed. The moment he spots Penny he knows that she is his mate but she is scared and he can tell she is running from something.
Will Penny let Kann in on the truth and will Kann be able to protect Penny from what she fears the most? Will Penny be able to handle Kann's own secrets or will she find herself in more trouble?
This was a great book and I am loving this series so far!
I felt terrible for Penny and what she witnessed and I knew why she had to run as she wasn't safe in town. Understandably she was so scared and reluctant to trust anyone, even when she arrived in Mystery.
Kann was awesome but I could understand how his alpha tendencies could frighten Penny after everything that she went through. Yet Kann was slowly able to prove to Penny that he was genuine until an encounter with Tor freaked her out completely!
I loved that the shifters knew nothing about weapons and that Penny had to teach them. I loved when everything went down and I was worried but I had faith in Kann and the other shifters to protect Penny!
I love the premise of this story, and the Alaskan setting is really cool. I for sure wouldn't want to live in cabins without running water and outhouses, but the snowy setting makes for some interesting scenarios. This is book 2 in the series, and can be read as a standalone since it features a different main couple, but I'd start at the beginning to get the full story. There is previous characters from book one in this book. This book focuses on Kann and Penny. Penny witnessed something she shouldn't have and is now in danger. She has run from her home, and is trying to stay under the radar. She ends up meeting Kann, and Kann recognizes Penny as his soul mate. Kann is a lion shifter from an alternate universe. Penny is obviously wary of trusting anyone, but the chemistry and pull between Kann and her makes it difficult to keep her walls up. The romance is sweet and sexy. It was great seeing the other members of Kann's "Tribe", and I love seeing them all supporting each other. I do think Naomi from the first book was kind of pushy with Penny, and I don't like that she was choosing to keep a secret, but it was good to see everyone. There is a bit of suspense; which I would've loved more of, but what was there was good. I'm excited to see what is in store for the other "Tribe" members! I think it's time for them to find some solid work too; they can't just rely on the ladies, lol! This is a fun read!
This series is capturing my whole heart. I love shifter romance period. The whole “soul mate” is my thing and as cheesy as it sounds it’s nice to still believe in that. This story focuses on Kann, the Lion shifter. He along with Saul, Tor, Col and Naomi live in Mystery Alaska. It’s been hard and easy to blend in considering their lack of knowledge of everything in the “earth world” but thanks to Naomi they been settling pretty well. They originally came from a different planet where different shifters lived but it got extinct. Due to this they have a strong bond and call each other family. I love the chemistry and humor between them. Naomi and Tor had me giggling the whole time. This book took a serious turn when Penny gets introduced. Right away she’s in danger and running away from someone she used to work for. She is so scared she just figures Alaska is the right place. Little did she know she would meet Kann and the rest of the gang. Laugher, love, and passion is the key to survive and this group knows how to deliver that. Everyone came along for the ride. I’m so curious about Tor, the tiger sifter. I love funny guys and he had me giggling. He definitely stole the spotlight a little. It also introduced another shifters not part of the gang but worthy of attention. Sounds like they don’t want to joined the cool group but they are not bad either. I enjoyed it so much and can’t wait for the rest.
Like I said in the first book's review, I almost stopped reading when their dragon story became wild and crazy. By the end I was anxious to get to the next book. This is lion shifter Kann's and weapons ballistics designer specialist Penny's HFN story. Loved it.
We seem to be getting more previous couple's story as we go along. Thank you. They're going to need a doctor/veterinarian in their tribe soon too to help keep all them undercover and safe. And the guys will have to be something other than all carpenters too or it will look strange. Can't wait to see how everything expands and develops.
It looks like the women are going to be the bread winners and have all the knowledge on how to circumnavigate their shifters' life on this new world in this series at first. I love it. These hunky men already adore and respect their female mates, but the women's knowledge for now, will elevate them even more. I love that the men accept and embrace this and immediately strive to learn any new knowledge from their women. I have no doubt that when they've learned enough that their need to dominate and protect will eventually bring the men front and center, which should prove an interesting new dynamic with their mates. I also can't wait to see what other shifters species and their new mates they'll bring into this new tribe/family. Happy, happy.
After reading the first book of this series, I was excited to get my hands on book 2. It did not disappoint either. I will say this book was more relatable to me because you have the human side thats the villain. It is so believable that someone would see something that are not supposed to and the be hunted down. The company the guy owns just screams corruption. I will say the main female character is a badass all on her own. She knows her way around a gun and knows what she has to do to get away. Though no one plans to be caught in the middle of a soulmate light. How can someone keep running with such an amazing thing. On top of that the promise to be protected and complete feeling of being safe in his arms is something no woman will pass up. I also think that the main female character deserves a family and this made family is willing to take her in and keep her for good. Even if that is something she is fighting against.
Throw all that on top of learning something so scary and magical exist! I don’t think anyone can mentally handle that. Though she does a damn good job of it. Even though she is scared and unsure of what is to come. She gives fate a try for once and sees where it will take her. Only things can stay good for so long if you have evil following you around. Once you battle that and win, life can become something completely amazing.
I received an ARC from the Author and voluntarily leave my honest review! Some spoilers. Book 2 is better then the first in my opinion and I think that may have been due to more world development and the tribe is more settled. The soul mate bond strikes again, this time with Kann, one of the lion shifters. I really do like how the mate is identified by glowing, I've not read of that before, its a nice twist for me. I found Penny to be a great h and is on the run after witnessing something she shouldn't have. This is how she ends up in small town Mystery. She is a very capable woman. I love her reaction to finding out about what Kann is, wasn't just total acceptance straight up. Kann is smokin' hot and has a high level of charm that wins Penny over really quick. Insta-love has definitely struck again. They do have great chemistry too with plenty of steamy scenes. I love all the roaring, vibrating and purring that Kann does. I actually liked Col and Naomi more in this one, then their own book lol, and again great secondary characters who I cant wait to find their own mates. Overall a great addition to the series and while it could be read as a stand alone, reading them in order is definitely a plus and I look forward to the next one!

I'm not lion to you, wow what a story, It was completely amazing from beginning to end. The book was phenomenally well written and I could't put it down. Krystal Shannan is a fantastically amazing author and I love her books.
Lion shifter Kann is from another world but he is now living in Mystery Alaska and appears to others as if he is a local. Then when he is in the local store his mate walks in. She has blue eyes and killer legs and his lion just wants to stand up and roar because her soul is glowing just for him. Penny is on the run and cannot trust anyone as she knows it is only a matter of time until she is caught. When she meets Kann she is instantly attracted but she cannot afford a distraction as she doesn't want anyone else to get hurt when they come for her. With patience and determination, he wins Penny over slowly but will Penny's past steal everything from both of them?
I really enjoyed this story. There was a lot of mystery behind Penny and why she was on the run. There was also a lot of passion between Penny and Kann although she did find it hard to get her head around the fact that there are shifters and that Kann was one of them. I enjoyed the role that the others played in getting her more comfortable with everything. Definitely a dramatic story and a very dramatic conclusion. Contains explicit sexual content.
Penny is one of the lead weapons research developers in the world; unfortunately when multiple job offers came in she chose the company with a crooked owner, and she just saw him kill. Leaving Anchorage, she travels to the small town of Mystery, Alaska hoping the remote location will allow her to remain untraceable.
Kann is a lion-shifter from a world which was destroyed, and he and a handful of others were able to use a portal to earth. When a woman at the local grocery “glows” for him, he realizes that the magick from his world crossed over, and he has found his soulmate. Kann’s tribe extends the same help that they received upon arriving; though Kann’s is a quite a bit more personal.
Great premise, well executed with characters you fall in love with. A story with humor in describing the transitional to a new world for the tribe of shifter; also danger, intrigue, struggle and romance.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Penny is running for her life when she meets Kann an alien lion shifter who helps her get supplied and into an isolated cabin. Penny went to lunch but forgot her purse with the card to operate the lift so she heads back to her office for it. As she collects it she sees her boss with three men on their knees in front of him then he shoots each one in the head. Penny runs stopping to pack a bag and withdraw some cash while dumping her tech items that might be tracked. At the airport she pays a bush pilot who is taking off for a delivery and he take her to the town of Mystery. in the local store getting some supplies she meets Kann. Alien lion shifter Kann looks at the woman entering the store and she glows a sure sign that she is soul mate and he knows he must look after her. A shifter adventure to relax and enjoy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kann and Penny's romance is sweet and steamy. This soulmate shifter story was an amazing read. The well written storyline offers plenty of intensity, drama, danger, humor, action, passion, charm, sweetness and of coarse, romance. I loved both of these characters. Penny is smart and determined but with such a soft center from a childhood growing up in the system. Kann of course is all kinds of hot, protective mate from the second he lays eyes on Penny. Penny is scared and in trouble, so you just know Kann is going to have to work extra hard to earn Penny's trust and affection. A fun plot, sizzling chemistry and a wonderful cast of supporting characters help in this book every one of the five stars I gave it. I totally enjoyed it and am already eager for the next book in this series. This is my voluntary, honest review.
This is a excellent, captivating paranormal romance, and this novel was a pleasure to read. This book is about: a woman (Penny) on the run from a unscrupulous boss and does not trust anyone, but then she meets a unusual man (Kann & unbeknown to her, a lion shifter) in a small town and from here the trials & tribulations begin before they get their HEA. What you will find in this book is: drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, some humor, adventure, action, enemies, danger, murders, conflict, attractions, soulmates, surprises, passion, romance, lust, love & some steamy scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, it keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well developed with individual personalities and react with varying emotions according to the situations they find themselves in. I would recommend this book written by a talented author.
This story is not too different than book one in the series - the names have been changed to protect the animals! Seriously, Ms. Shannan does a great job with the numerous sex scenes. The characters are nice and the community in which the "tribe" finds itself is protective and helpful. The female characters in the series are cherished and protected and have very different backgrounds which makes the joining of the two disparate individuals interesting reading.
If you are looking for a book that will make you grow as a human being, this is not it. If you are looking for a read as delicious as your favorite snack in the middle of the afternoon - this is perfect and lasts just as long. Enjoy the read and if all your "tingly spots" tingle by time you are done, you can count on the fact, Krystal Shannan did a good job! :)
