I don’t want your body. I want your soul. I want your everything. And I definitely want your orgasms. I want them all. I’ll be a greedy bastard, savoring them and hoarding them all for myself. You wanted to give me your body? I can buy that on a street corner, sweetheart. You’re the one who’s being selfish now.”
“Maybe my love ain’t worth much just yet, but I’m working on that. I’m going to be better. I’m going to be worthy. I’ll learn from you. I’ll change for you. I’ll be a good man. I’ll be a man you want for more than an orgasm. I’ll be a man you can trust.”
Damn, woman, I’m willing to give up everything to keep you safe. Of course I love you. I love everything about you. I need you, Avery. I need you so bad.
I want you to meet my friend. His name is Ian. Don’t let him scare you. He only looks like he eats small children for breakfast.
He’d spent his twenties fucking his way across three continents, and she’d been a bloody nun.He goes on to give the readers an excellent taste of what kind of man he is.
She wasn’t the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Not even close. He’d been with so many lovely women, younger and thinner. He’s going undercover and knows he will have to seduce Avery as part of his job. I’ll already pissed at him and wanting to protect Avery.
“Fine, I thought you were a little overweight and uninteresting…”Wow, I guess points for honesty. Also this quote had me rolling in laughter.
Blood was meaningful, but it didn’t necessarily make a family. Love and friendship made families too. And lubricant. Lube might not make a family, but damn, it was going make it so much easier for him…I'd go on, but you get the drift. 2 stars because I managed to finish it and I actually liked Avery's character even though she has horrible boundaries and taste in men.

She’d come across the ocean to change her life—to have a life. What was life without a few risks?

Rating: 4.5★
There was actually a little resemblance of the story to the first book, the mark is a female and to get to the target, get to the mark first. Other than that, well, there’s a whole other aspect and mystery, a bigger picture and more suspense.
But, you don’t have to let it cloud your judgment with how the story goes as the mystery is so big to comprehend and something that I didn’t quite expect.
What I love though is I get a little more details or facet of life of the other supporting characters.
Liam and Avery are too complex characters that you will love though. Well, I’ve already liked Liam. But the caveman and the mirror into his life was what cemented what I felt for them.
There’s still some intrigue, and I don’t know what the end game with be, but just that I’m excited to read the next book in the series.
