Welcome to Aurora Falls. Home of platter-sized pancakes, the Northern Lights, and... a lake full of finned immortal warriors in search of their mates. This mountain getaway is full of sexy shimmering secrets just waiting to be revealed…
A gentle fighter.... After spending her childhood plagued by illness, Skye Brooks travels to Aurora Falls to expand her education and learn the art of natural healing. In a small town under the Northern Lights she finds her purpose in helping others. She never expects to meet a man that would change her life beyond her wildest dreams.
Centuries spent underwater... Koll knew that the chances of breaking the curse that kept him below the surface of Sapphire Lake were small. Over the years he'd only had small glimpses of the changing world outside the lake. If he could find her, the only one who could break the spell, and convince her they were meant to be together, he could live like a free man again.
A chance encounter, a moment in time; that was all it would take to change the future of two people. Will this shy young woman be able to believe in magic and the hope that fairytales do come true or will reality and logic ruin Koll’s opportunity to leave his watery prison behind forever?
Moxie North loves shifters. Really, she does. A lot. Big burly men mixed with fierce protective animals makes for hunky alpha shifters that will move heaven and earth for their mates.
Her heroines come in all shapes, sizes, personalities and backgrounds. They’re looking for love but want their men to win them over. Together they find their soul mate on their journey to true love.
Moxie lives surrounded by trees, wildlife, and the occasional lumberjack. She loves sci-fi, sugar in any form, and speaking only in movie quotes. Moxie went from an avid reader to a writer and loves being in the romance community. Meeting readers and talking books keeps her writing and loving her job.
Wait For Me, Mountain Mermaids (Sapphire Lake) by Moxie North is a 3.5 star read. Koll is a Merman, he’s locked to the lake in his merman form until the 3 days of the full moon, he’s really angry that he’s stuck there because of a curse put on his clan 500 years ago, the only way to break the curse is to find their one true love. Skye spent her childhood in and out of hospital due to illnesses and is now looking at alternative cures, she has come to the town of Aurora Falls to take a course on crystal healing. Skye doesn’t expect to meet the person meant to change her life forever. I normally love anything that Moxie writes but I was kinda on the fence with this one, don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it was a bad story or that it’s poorly written or anything just the opposite but for me the story and its characters didn’t give me the usual happy feeling that I normally get from Moxie’s books, I do recommend that you try this for yourself and I will wait patiently for her next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
A wonderful world of curses and merpeople, love, jealousy and trust. Can they all add up to an HEA? The author has created a world of people cursed to spend their eternally long lives under the waters of the lake--unless they find that one person the other half of them. The curse would break and their lives would be spent in love together.
Koll had long since determined he would never find that one. He was bitter and only ventured out to visit his brother who now lived as a man. His meeting with Skye made him immediately aware she was that one. Could he persuade the sweet, shy, woman she was meant to be his? Would she believe what he was and what he could be?
This is a steamy, sweet read with characters you love and some not so much. I'm ready to read more about these people in this place. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
Now that her childhood full of being sick is behind her, Skye is traveling. She's headed to Aurora Falls to broaden her knowledge of natural healing. And there, she finds her purpose, as well as a man that will change her life in other ways.
Koll is cursed, literally, to spend the rest of his life in the water. He's able to see the world, but not be a part of it. He knows the chances of finding the one woman to break the spell, to free him, and win her heart are slim to none. And then he meets Skye and knows she's it and begins to hope.
Can Koll convince Skye he's telling the truth? Will she believe him? Will she trust that he truly cares about her, not just because she can save him? Can Skye break the curse? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as two people, both with their own emotional baggage, must decide whether to take a chance on forever.

Wait For Me is a sweet as pie, romantic, original story that swept me off my feet and made my heart flutter with excitement. This is definitely one of the most romantic stories in this Mountain Mermaids series. I fell head over heels for Koll and Skye. These two are so different yet the chemistry is strong between them.
The way Koll was so determined to win over Skye was adorable, sweet, and sexy at the same time. I loved his unique way of showing Skye that he cared and desired her. I found him to be so charming and the way he was protective and wanted to provide for her was insanely HOT. And Skye..oh I LOVED this heroine! She is shy and beautiful and so wholesome and just fit Koll beautifully. I loved this story to the moon and back its THAT simple!
I give Wait For Me a SWEET AND ROMANTIC FIVE SHIMMERING STARS!
This sweet enjoyable and entertaining read was very intriguing with its unique plotline. I absolutely adored Koll and the fact he was so determined to woo Skye. And how trust, faith, and patience play a major role in forming their relationship. So looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. Also I can't wait till Bjorn story I know for sure that going to be a hella of read. Overall a great read and great start for a new series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I wasn't sure what to expect. This shifter genre is new to me. I shouldn't be surprised the, once again, Moxie takes an idea and breaths life in it to create this amazing, gorgeous and mystical place. What a brilliant read!
A really different and sweetly enjoyable read with very likeable characters and one hell of a different plotline. Tamsin is betrayed in love by Bjorn, one of the marauders. Tamsin is a goddess/witch and in a vengeful mindset enspells/curses all the marauders for hundreds of years. True love is needed to break the curse. This is the story of Koll and Skye. They are not the first of this group to find each other and break the spell but this series starts with them. Loved Koll and Skye and how trust, belief and patience played and large part of this story. Great how the community stays and works together to help everyone. I cannot wait until we get Bjorn’s story, that will be a doozy. This is my honest review of this book kindly given to me but read through Kindle Unlimited.
There’s a new multi-author series, Mountain Mermaids – Sapphire Lake, out that is offering a unique type of Shifter tale. Not like we might be used to, but shape-changers nonetheless. Since the titles aren’t in a numbered order, I picked up Moxie North’s Wait For Me to begin because, frankly, I know her work, love her stories and believe that she delivers a story that I will, at the least, enjoy and usually just fall in love with. The others are new to me authors, and that’s also a good thing for now I get a taste of their work and perhaps find new stories to escape into.
The general premise of the series is that 500 years ago a love went wrong, and an entire clan was cursed to live within a lake as mermen and mermaids. During the 3 days of the full moon they could once again walk on land, but must return to the lake… unless they meet their one true love, then they could make the choice between land and water. That’s the basics, any more and it’s going to spoil it for you discovering the delicious details for yourself.
In Wait For Me we meet Koll, who has pretty much given up hopes of finding his true love in only 3 day’s time. He enjoys his time out of the lake visiting with his brother (who did find his love) and their new son. He conducts clan business and just enjoys being on land, always keeping an eye out for possibilities but never really believing he’d get that lucky… right up until he bumped right into her, and he knew. Now how can he convince a shy, modern day woman to believe in curses, mermen and true love in such a short amount of time.
Skye has traveled to Aurora Falls to do some learning in the healing arts. She’s a shy, quiet woman who keeps to herself mostly because she was quite ill as a child and never really had the chance to develop close friendships. She wants to give back and healing, alternative healing, fascinates her. She came to this quaint tiny town to take some classes, escape for a few weeks and return home… what she’ll find here will change her view on so many tings most of all on herself.
I enjoyed Koll and Skye’s story very much. She’s just enough open minded, and just enough totally confused and suspicious that her reactions are completely believable. Koll is a sexy warrior, a man of determination and surprisingly a very patient man as well. We also have a bit of a stalker situation to add to the mix. I had fun, Wait For Me gave me enough of a taste for this world that I now want to read more. If you’re in the mood for something a little bit different, then I’d suggest checking out this series, Mountain Mermaids – Sapphire Lake for yourself – perhaps you also know some of the authors involved. Now I’m heading back to pick out another book to continue.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This was a quick read with an interesting premise. You don’t usually hear of stories with Vikings and merpeople too often in PNR. I though that it was a very cute story and I really liked Koll and Skye. Koll is bitter at his situation while Skye is seeking ways to help people heal in non-traditional ways after enduring a sickly childhood and some of the traumas of traditional Western medicine. I thought that Koll was quite cute and funny in his naiveté at trying to court Skye. This is a love story that is based purely on faith. Skye needs faith to believe the tale that Koll and his family tell her while Koll is forced to practice patience and have faith that when he returns, Skye won’t desert him leaving him trapped. I look forward to reading the stories in this series and hope that the couple that spawned this series would eventually get their HEA.
Kill is one of the men who were cursed to live as a Mer except for during the full moon. He has never been hopeful that he will find his true love and break the curse. Skye was sick a lot growing up. So she has decided to learn more about Holistic healing in order to help others. There is a class happening in Aurora Falls. Koll and Skye meet on the street. He is kind of awkward, not knowing what to do, but he is sure that she is his mate because she can see his mark. Throughout this book Skye wrestles with her doubt. There is a protagonist that nudges her disbelief. This book was a cute, simple tale in the world of Mer. There wasn't a lot of excitement in this story but it is good for a quiet lazy day at home or to read in breaks at work.
I loved Koll and Skye's story. It is set in the town of Aurora Falls which is the home of the cursed merpeople. Aurora Falls sounds so delightful that it made me want to pack my bags and move there. For Koll's 500 year old curse to be broken he must find his true love during his limited time on land. Skye has her own challenges and is trying to find her way in life. Once they meet the magic begins with mutual attraction flaring between them. It is wonderful story and makes me hope for future books in this series. I really want to know if Bjorn finds his true love and breaks Tamsin's curse. Maybe Tamsin is the key to both.
Really enjoyed the author take on merpeople. Refreshing that this stories from the male point of view.
Skye and Koll are the perfect couple to meet and determine what lies ahead for their future.
Now I do have one qualms about the story and that it referenced he had a lot of anger and that he seemed to be a little out of control. The story does not really address this hanging storyline but it's not really important I just thought I'd bring it up as just a little bit of a as a snippet that didn't really pan out.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book without obligation to the author.
An ancient curse puts a group of Viking warriors deep in a lake. One of their group had led on a witch, and when he was leaving with his group and leaving her behind, she cursed them. The became Merkel and mermaids. Only at the full moon could they leave the lake and become human for the time the moon was full. When they found someone onshore who was their true love, it broke the curse for that person only. Koll found his true love, but having been cursed for half a century he had a lot of catching up to do. I hope there are more books in this series to catch up with these characters. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt.
Koll’s people were cursed hundreds of years ago. The only way to break the curse is to meet their one true love. They only have 3 days every month to try and find them and Koll doesn’t believe he will find her until he literally bumps into Skye. He knows she’s his, she’s almost positive they’re meant to be together, but Koll won’t rush her. Will Skye stay the month until Koll returns? Will Koll return or is it all just a practical joke? These are their questions, read Wait for Me to find out the answers and so much more. Welcome to Aurora Falls, it’s a magical place.
I’ve never read this author before but I was excited to see a mermaid shifter series. This book was only ok. The hero was more naive than I prefer from a 500+year old with access to the changing world. The heroine was very flat. Past mystery illnesses are supposed to motivate her but they don’t really come up past being an excuse to not do things. The secondary characters were rough. A psychic out of touch with people’s true natures and an antagonist that was like a caricature.
Koll’s is the third merman story, in Wait For Me, that I have had the pleasure of reading in the Mountain Mermaids, (Sapphire Lake) series. Penned by five unique and fabulous authors, this is my first Moxie North book, and I adored it!
Read it for a wonderful balance of sentimental, rugged, erotic, and romantic words. Now to go stock up on my newest, favoritist, amazingist, author!
What an interesting world Moxie has helped create. The back story was interesting and in turn lead to an interesting subplot to tie the stories together. This story was sweet with a bit of conflict that really brought out the hero in Koll. This was a sweet fun story and I can't wait to read the rest.
Fantastic and very enjoyable read! I love the world this group of authors created when they decided to write this series. I love how I was hooked from beginning to end. I enjoyed getting to know the characters.
If you want a book that will draw in and not let you go until you have completed reading it, then this is the book for you. I thought it was going to go one direction then it jerked me in the other direction in oh such a good way. From the moment Skye runs into Koll you are drawn into this story even more. I would highly recommend this book along with any other book written by Moxie North.
Great way to write a story. It had me hooked. To be cursed like that for so long and to depend on the one person who matters most to break that curse with only a few days a month. Wow talk about pressure. I enjoyed it. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Wow this was intense. For a moment there i thought Jason had been sent by Tamsin to try to come between Koll and Skye. I didn't know he would turn into a crazy stalker. I can't wait for the showdown between Bjorn and Tamsin.
This was the last of the Mountain Mermaids series, but I am hopeful they don't stop here. I saw way to many other possibilities for more stories! As usual, Moxie rocked her story!
I really loved this book, and that surprised me. I've never read a book about merpeople before. I think I only recognized one typo through the entire book, so that was fantastic! Definitely look forward to the next book in the series!
I enjoy the mythology behind Koll and his people and I love Skye and Koll's story. Skye's shyness and being introverted are written and revealed in an amazing way. I appreciate the final insight from Tamsin answered some questions from the prequel for me.
I alarmed my husband with the amount of times I laughed reading this book. That being said - this book was smoking hot when it needed to be *fans self furiously*
First off, something I love about moxie’s books is her heroines love food, it makes my heart happy. This book was amazing!!! I loved it. Definitely 10 stars.
