Lots of great recipes that are delicious at this point I have made 4 recipes out of this book with great results. The author offers lots of suggestions for substitutions if you don't have an ingredient or are following a diet that does not allow certain ingredients. Some of the ingredients list may look long but recipes are simple and she uses a lot of the same ingredients over and over again so you don't have to worry about having extra. This cookbook is my new go to for meal planning.
Made Whole is all about finding an eating lifestyle that promotes restoration and healing. I love Curp’s approach, which combines Paleo, Keto, and AIP, to create a diet that worked for her. She gives us a mini history lesson on each of these diets; a lot of emphasis is put on keto (as this is a long process). I’d highly recommend this to anyone who is trying to define a unique diet that works best for them.
Cristina's personality shines through in all parts of the book, I love her commentary on each of the recipes. The book is very well thought out and easy to use. Including substitions and chef's notes on most recipes rounds it all up. I've made several recipes so far and they are all relatively easy as well as being amazingly delicious. If you only need one keto/paleo/aip cookbook make sure it's this one.
I love this book! I first checked it out at the library because the last thing I need is another cookbook. When the book started filling up with yellow sticky notes of the recipes I wanted to try I knew I was going to have to buy it.
Cristina doesn't just take recipes of things we can't have and modify them to fit the dietary restrictions of people with autoimmune issues, she provides bonafide original recipes that just plain taste good. I love that there is a picture for every recipe and the index in the back is incredibly helpful.
I've already made quite a few of the recipes and every one of them has been a winner. I want to make so many more that picking my next adventure is going to be difficult.
I do love a well-written cookbook. This one also helped me, health-wise, because it includes the Auto-Immune Protocol. I'm glad I bought it as I have enjoyed the recipes. The book contains more recipes with a southwestern influence than any I've seen.
I was disappointed to get a message on my Kindle reader that I was approaching the manufacturer's limit for making copies. I bought the Kindle version but don't want to use the Kindle in my kitchen. Copy and pasting into Word was working fairly well, but then the message came and I was annoyed.
Still enjoying the recipes, they are simple, but with a difference, the way I like. Most ingredients are already in my pantry, others are easily obtained. My family loves the sausage, so I'm hoping for more of this kind!
On the first day of making the pickled red onions, they were fine, but I felt they were missing something. Two days later, I remembered I had pushed them to the back of the refrigerator, pulled them out just now, and thought, "wow, this would be good mixed with cucumbers, maybe green beans, maybe on a chili burger, on a cold cut, etc." For now, these are fun to snack on. The vinegar definitely stands out, but what a fun way to eat red onions and enjoy the benefits of the apple cider vinegar. I'm planning on making several recipes from this book.
update: I just made the Korean Cinnamon Tea and it is so addicting! I will be making this often! It called for stevia - I did not need stevia - I would put (optional) on that part of the recipe
I bought this book after following Christina for a while and I have to say, I’m impressed! Not only is there a lot of useful information, but the recipes are interesting and delicious sounding even if you aren’t on a Keto or Paleo diet.
Interesting combination of whole 30, Paleo and Keto - but didn’t work for me. Seems better to start with whole 30, then Keto and end up with paleo once you determine the foods that cause you issues, if any. Best plan is the one you can stick with.
Battling a long term illness with diet is made so much easier with incredible cookbooks like this one. AIP options. Non-dairy. Low carb. Flavorful. Grateful.
Psa: this cookbook is for cooks. Novice cooks, sure. However, making everything from scratch takes time. Totally worth it for my family.
Cristina has created an AMAZING cookbook to help with AIP and Paleo - I highly recommend everything in here (ESPECIALLY THE PROSCIUTTO CHIPS!!!!!) - run and grab this today!
I really love her cookbooks I do not have any nut or food allergies in general (at least not that I’m aware of) but her recipes are amazing. Simple to understand, great table of contents, beautiful photos and not too many rare items.
