This book is great for first time readers, when my son was learning to read, this was the first book I had him read because it was an easy plot with good sentence structure and not too many words. However, other than that, the kids really don't like it. The kid takes forever putting on all her winter clothes that by the time she's done, it's time to come back in. My children think it's too sad.
The ending is sad, but unexpected and funny! It made another preschool teacher in the room gasp. My students noticed the window showing kids playing outside as they got ready for recess. I like the simple, cumulative text that almost anyone can "read."
This book reminds me of Wednesday's Week (I think that's the name of the book.) It starts with one word and build sentences as the story goes on. Great way for kids to 'read' just by looking at the pictures.
A book about a child who puts on all the winter clothes to go out at recess in the cold only by the time she gets them on it's time to come back inside.
This is a very simple read for beginning readers about a child getting dressed for recess on a cold day with all of the different articles of clothing. Once the child is finally dressed, recess is over.
