I hate to say it but I think that I liked the Beach ARC in the adaptation more than in the manga.
Anyway, still very entertaining and I cannot wait for what's more to come. Niragi and Last Boss basically jumped out of the manga onto the screen, crazy that they found actors who could embody them that well.
I found the Side story quite interesting, however, I was confused by the game since I felt like the rules were not really revealed. I like the idea of the Four of Hearts, however, I would like it a bit reworked (mainly the revelation of the rules) but the mind game whether you trust the other or not was just phenomenal. Thought I really thought that Chishiya was participating and not Arisu, I was surprised by that turn.
Este tomo fue demasiado para mí. 1. Elementos de misterio y sadismo. 2. 😈😈😱😱
Alice in Borderland Volume 05 sets the foundation of the upcoming disaster of the Beach. Also, there is an additional short story with a game and a new player.
The story builds up the suspense, leading the characters to find Arisu and get things moving once more. In this volume, the art is phenomenal, with the parallel sequences with the glass of water being a smart and masterful way to showcase the delirium that will follow. The reader also gets a chance in this one to get to know other characters more and for Arisu to come to terms with some of his inner demons.
Volume 5 continues the thrilling ride that is Alice in Borderland.
Usagi shines here as she is developed a bit and there's also a focus on other characters as Arisu remains captured. A game is again initiated but this time at the Beach. There are again dramatic developments that show how man can return to a primeval state when his life is threatened.
There's also a special chapter here following a boy before and after his arrival at the Borderland so we'll see how that continues.
I'm definitely a fan of this and I hope it continues being consistently good.
The moment that you realize the Beach has been turned into a game, this volume kicks into a higher gear. This whole series feels like it's just been constantly ramping up. And yet, this volume does slow down a bit. It introduces the first side story of the series, which I didn't realize was as prevalent as they are (There's 22 chapters worth of them in total). It was a really good side story, but I'll get into that in the next volume.

Come from Netflix series because I can't wait for ss2! Finished the whole manga within a few days and it was such a pleasure experience
The idea is briliant, still haven't wrapped my head around how the author was able to come up with such awesome and meaningful story like that. It really makes me question my true identity on the verge of death, when I have to make choices that I bet my life on. I think I'll never know who I really am
I like all the characters. It's a shame that the 2 best friends of Arisu die too soon. I wanted to see them more in the story, but like the story said at some point, their deaths are " necessary evil" for Arisu to mature. Shibuki was a calculating person and will do anything to hold on to her life. I cried when she smiles and embraces Chunta during her last few seconds of the hide and seek game. It's like she finally accepts her fate that she is about to die. It was such a hard moment for Shibuki to let go considering what she did in the past, but she did it, and at least she was happy in her last moment
THIS WAS THE BEST VOLUME YET! The character growth with Arisu made me so sad and yet happy at the same time- the scene where he hallucinates seeing his friends was so amazing. This book was filled with action and really delved into human psychology in high pressure situations.
Until this volume i had generally been liking the live action more. But some detail in this volume that didn't get into the live action made the manga equal to me in quality. I like the side story game--another great psychological twist. I also like the further exploration of grief and trauma Arisu goes through, mourning his lost friends when he is isolated for hours after being tortured and wanting to join them in death. That part is heartbreaking. I'm a bit eyerolly with the attraction between Arisu and Usagi, but meh, i can imagine being near death all the time and being high school-aged can accelerate feelings of attraction for each other. Plus they spend those few days and nights alone together... Anyway, great volume.
This volume continues to explore the beach and those that reside in it. Not to mention, the much coveted Ten of Hearts game begins, to be continued in volume 6. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the introduction of a side-story in this volume! We are introduced to Hayato Dodo, and get to witness his first day in Borderlands as well as his first game in the Four of Hearts. Both the character and the Four of Hearts game was absent in the Netflix series, so this was extremely exciting to read. Can't wait to see this character developed further, and especially can't wait to see how the Four of Hearts game concludes. 5/5
probably the best volume yet. i really enjoyed the beach/witch arc in the show and i might just prefer the adaptation, but i absolutely loved how arisu's grief was further explored. i also really enjoyed the side-story as well!
The first side story (the poker one) was BORING. But the rest of this was so good. The main game is also one of the duller ones but the most interesting part of this series was the strategy which there’s lots of! And lots of twists as always!
