UNIT 78: Rescued

Rate this book
A cyborg soldier with one mission:
To rescue an innocent girl from a vicious cult
But in order to fulfill his duty, he must do the unthinkable.
Can Rich and Kyrin find each other when they are lost in the Breeding Compound?

Unit 78, formerly Corporal Richard Hardgraves, is a Cyborg with a mission: to rescue the Admiral's daughter from the dreaded Tr'Low Cult on Beacon 5. The Tr'Lows have a prophesy that a half-metal man will come from the sky and father the perfect child on a chosen bride--Rich tells himself he will play the part just long enough to grab the girl and run.

Kyrin Pierce is a Peace Keeper with IPKA--the Interstellar Peace Keeping Association. Lured to Beacon 5 by a fake call, she was captured and now she is being prepared for an unspeakable ceremony. She too plays into the Tr'Low prophecy because of her flame-red hair. As the priestesses of the cult inject her full of hormones to drive her wild with need, she has nearly given up hope of escape.

Rich might be more metal than man but he still has a heart and when he sees what the Kyrin has been through, he aches for her pain. But in order to get her out of the Tr'Low compound, he must do the unthinkable...and give the cultists what they want by taking Kyrin in their public ceremony.

Kyrin doesn't care that the man who has come for her is a cyborg, she only knows that her body needs him desperately. And after he rescues her, her heart needs him too.
But Kyrin's father, Admiral Pierce, doesn't approve of his daughter loving a "metal monster." When he separates them and sends Kyrin to a hospital to take care of her "problem" can Rich rescue her again...in time to save their baby?

Half man...half metal...all heart. The CyBRG series by Evangeline Anderson and Mina Carter.

Receiving an urgent distress communication from Admiral Pierce, Unit 78, aka Corporal Richard Hardgraves, goes on behalf of the CyBRG squad to mount a rescue mission for the Admiral's daughter who has been kidnapped by a religious cult. It's thought that by helping the military, the CyBRG's can barter for a much needed space vessel or receive payment for services rendered. Either way, it's a step in the right direction for the CyBRG's gaining credibility and autonomy.

Kyrin Pierce, Interstellar Peace Keeping Association (IPKA) official, is the agency's premier mediator. Lured to planet Beacon 5 for a supposed conflict, Kyrin is taken prisoner by a cult like following of zealots who claim she is the Queen they've been waiting for. It will take all of Kyrin's skills to escape or resign herself to a future as brood mare to the cult's creepy leader.

Corporal Hardgraves never thought his high body concentration of cyborg components would be perceived as being a deity's stud but such is the case when he lands on Beacon 5, now Breeder One. It was prophesied a half man/half machine male would impregnate their Queen giving birth to the cult's prophesized Messiah who will rule the Universe.

* *

Second installment in the "CyBRG Files" that can be read as a standalone. The series features a crew of rogue military cyborgs and their lady love mates.

I appreciate a good smut book which this one certainly qualifies as. The erotica scenes support the story line instead of a story line that is complimented by erotica scenes. Nothing wrong with that if it scratches that itch.

The main characters come to the table with different yet similar backgrounds. Kyrin is a military brat who is skilled in mediation, but, her dad the Admiral is still controlling her life. Unit 78 is a decorated military hero skilled in hostage negotiations who is given a second life as a cyborg with no family ties. Maybe that's a reason why the two burn up the sheets from the get-go. The question is whether that chemistry will be enough to survive the roadblocks, hurdles, and prejudices that will be thrown their way.

The cast of secondary characters have minimal impact on the story itself. More props than anything, the characters provide a backdrop for all that happens. Noteable is the cyborg cast of characters who will appeal to differing fans based on their personal tastes. :)

My issues come from the core belief that the characters themselves weren't believable. Kyrin, who was suppose to be a high level peace negotiator/crisis management individual came across as a bratty high maintenance poor coping skills female. I really expected this type of character to use her knowledge and experience to some degree instead of the damsel needing to be rescued by her knight in shining armor (pun intended). Rich was all over the place, one scene having machine like cyborg personality, then next the good ole' testosterone driven male. For me, this scenario didn't fit as advertised.

I'm not a fan of this book/story. A combination of superficial world building, lack of meaningful character development, and over the top erotica scenes resulted in a disconnect for me. The ending of this story did feature a teaser of the next installment will feature Abby & HER metal man. Fingers crossed as Abby, so far, is my kind of girl. :)

Three and a half
I thoroughly enjoyed the first in this series about a group of Space Corps Marines who through no fault of their own were changed into cybernetic hybrids. They are slowly regaining their memories and personalities and have gone rogue throwing off the chattels of their past . Now though they are needed in a daring rescue mission against a cult and Unit 78 aka Rich is just the man for the job or should that be machine !
Kyrin has a very controlling father but she’s found her own way and is a Peace Keeper. In theory that’s her dream job but her current reality is that she’s held prisoner and pumped full of drugs designed to make her fertile enough to fulfill a totally whacked out prophecy . What Kyrin needs is a miracle and what she gets is a half metal man !
Ok this is hard to review because honestly I hated the first half of the story. To me it was a horrific ordeal, unpleasant to read and the only redemption is what happened afterwards. I don’t mind that the couple felt love almost immediately ( usually I prefer more build up ) because after what they were both subjected to I could understand they were bonded by their experiences. The saving grace for this reader was the camaraderie between the cyborgs. I loved their interactions and it was easy to believe they are a military unit forged in fire and very protective of each other. It just made me smile that they could still tease, wind each other up and yet come down on the side of what is right.
So unfortunately not exactly what I’d hoped for but it definitely built upon what we learnt about these guys in the first book and as Kyrin has a rather outspoken sister I can only hope that the next book will have even more snark and saucy times.
This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

This book gave me mixed feeling. At one point, certain parts of the book genuinely grossed me out but some parts I actually enjoyed. I don't know.

Spicy cyborg romance. Rich saves her from a cult. They want to breed her because they think her offspring will fulfill a prophecy. He has to service her because they pump her full of drugs that send her into a painful lust.

I have never read anything like this half metal half man Rich is out to save innocent Kyrin after she is abducted by some breeders, but it won't be easy cause Rich has to play the part, but he seems to have fallen for the woman he is supposed to rescue and now she is pregnant with his child and her father wants to abort the baby.

Can Rich save Kyrin and their unborn child in time.
I seriously do not know what to say about this one I mean it's different and different is okay but I don't think I would read it again. But I'm so glad I did give this story a chance and this is a series so more shall be coming in the near future.

Unit 78, formerly Corporal Richard Hardgraves, was meeting with Admiral Pierce. He could smell the fear of the marines who escorted him there. He understood since he had heard the same horror stories when he was human. But he was an expert in negotiation and hostage recovery. The rogue cyborgs had been created by a man named Pike who was trying to make a huge profit on the black market. Originally the CyBRG program took soldiers killed in action, brain-dead, and converted them. But needing more for his profits, Pike arranged malfunction of medical equipment so that men still alive were deemed brain-dead and cyberized. Those men, however, did not accept orders to kill innocent civilians and they went “rogue”. Pike was killed and everyone was denying what had been done. Rich was one of the rogues – but the admiral needed him for something.

The admiral was alarmed when he saw Rich still had weapons. But the cyborg quickly assured him it didn’t matter since he could kill everyone on board even without weapon. Besides, they had asked for his help and he was here at their request. The task was a rescue mission of the admiral’s daughter from a crazy cult on Beacon Five. Rich connected with the ship’s database to get the details on the cult in less than a second while the admiral talked. When Rich told him what the cyborgs wanted in return for this rescue, the admiral was furious! He expected them to obey, but they were no longer subject to orders from the Space Corps. Instead they wanted the terms that he laid out for the admiral. To take over the galaxy, this insane cult planned to use the admiral’s red-headed daughter to fulfil a prophecy stating the red-haired Queen and a half metal man would have a child who would lead them to conquer the universe! That redhead was Kyrin Pierce, the peace negotiator sent to mediate – which was trickery to capture her. The admiral would use a “half metal man”, the cyborg, to infiltrate the cult and rescue Kyrin. But Rich and Kyrin need to go further than either anticipated to complete the rescue by completing the cult’s public ceremony. Will Rich be able to save his own child from Kyrin’s father who wants to rid her of her “problem”? Or will he make sure the “metal monster” stays out of her life?

I really enjoyed this book. I love cyborg stories, and especially the kind of cyborg who retains free will and all the qualities that made him human. These rogue cyborgs are wonderful. They are a family and the reader can feel their loyalty and deep friendships. I am so excited to have this series available! Great character development, exciting and fast-paced story line – what more can you want in such a book? Grab your copy and join the adventure!

I have been really enjoying this series so far. To say which book I loved more so far I can not say. I loved this book just as much as I loved book one. Now I really tried to stop and think to see if I would recommend this book as standalone. I would say yes but reading book one helps you know how these men became cyborgs and the long journey they have come to get to were they are now. But yes I do believe you can read this book as a standalone.

Though these cyborgs are half machine and half man I believe they have more man then machine. Meaning they have all their human traits. It does break my heart how these men can feel like they are unloveable. They desire the same thing any human does. To be loved and have someone to love. They long for that physical connections.

When I was reading about these cyborgs I wanted to jump in the book and roll around with them..LOL I am truly loving getting to know each of them.

Unit 78 aka Richard Hardgraves had a very important mission. He was to do a rescue mission on a woman that was in an occult that was all about breeding. They believe she was their queen that prophecy spoke of. He was going to a place that would believe he was the male that was prophesied about as well. Half man and have metal.

I think in the story we get to discover the type of man Richard really was. He truly had a good heart. He would of put his life down to save Kyrin. He was a honorable man and a caring man. He was also very protective. Reading this my heart broke for him. He was falling for Kyrin and felt she could never love someone like him. He has been through so much and carries so much pain.

Kyrin carries so much guilt with her. In a way she blames herself for what happen to her crew and the situation she finds herself in. She fought with all she had on what was being done to her. I also discovered that Kyrin had this amazing heart. I think that is why she had the job she had. She desired to bring peace. As you are reading about her you can see why she is prefect for Richard.

It might of been an awful situation that Richard and Kyrin find themselves in but it is also what helps bring them together. These two will have their battles to get to were they want to be. But I believe everything they go through is what helps bring them closer together.

I loved that we got introduced to Kyrin’s sister in this book. I can tell she really loves her sister and would do anything for her.

There is some pretty steamy parts in this book. Trust me when I say the authors do not disappoint. I am so happy I got a chance to read this book.

Unit 78: Rescued (CyBRG Files Book 2) - Evangeline Anderson and Mina Carter

This is the 2nd book in the CyBRG Files series by both Evangeline Anderson and Mina Carter. While very familiar with Evangeline’s books I love her take on Cyborgs and the twist about this particular group of rogues. I have never read any books from Mina Carter but will definitely add them to my TBR list.
This book takes place away from the rogues homebase, a cyborg , Unit 78 known as Rich Hardgraves, was introduced in the first book. His sense of humor and outgoing personality carried over into this book. He’s been tasked with rescuing the daughter of a general whohas been abducted by a crazy cult. Despite his dislike for the Cyborgs he feels are lower than dirt Rich will fulfill the prophesy that his daughters abductors believe in.
There is a lot of craziness this cult victimizes poor Kyrin to, she was an independent professional ambassador peacekeeper, before being captured by the cult and given a host of drugs.
Of course in typical Evangeline Anderson’s world, the drugs and cult put Rich and Kyrin in some compromising and very erotic situations.
Rich falls for the brave red head and is bereft to be parted from her after her rescue. He is forced to turn her over to her overbearing prejudiced father who forces her into another kind of prison.
Kyrin sees way beyond the metal that makes up a good part of Rich’s body and chooses to love his heart and mind. They somehow have to find their way back to each other.
The story also introduces some cool secondary characters, Karin’s sister and Harper (another cyborg) whose stories I hope will be featured in the next book in the series. These Cyborgs are different from other series I have read, their quirky sense of humor, bravery, loyalty and morality make them much more admirable than the military humans that created them.
A definite great addition to the series. It’s highly recommended to read book 1 first.

A great premise with some graphic elements. I love the cyborg rebellion storylines. But, I was conflicted when I read this book. Firstly, I enjoyed the atmosphere and humanizing descriptions of the Cyborgs altogether, I liked them more than I did most of the regular full-on human people. Secondly, Kyrin and her sister were also positive character depictions and were easy to get behind as well. The parts of the book that took place on the cyborg ship were the best parts of the book, with scenes and character actions that kept me engaged. I thought that the cult compound was too easy. Like how did these older, weak fanatics take over a whole planet? An entire planet? unless it was an asteroid sized planetlet? or a space station? I couldn't compute the logic of that. This was really the only thing that kept this book from being 5 stars for me, and I know that it's fiction and I should suspend judgement and just enjoy the story, but it just didn't make sense. I truly loved how cheesy the bad guys were though, like Boris and Natasha if they were creepy sex cult fanatics with access to advanced pharmaceutical engineering research. Kyrin was made to be the catalyst of the story to spur the action of the hero, and she did that. She put up a struggle and did her best to save herself right up until she gave up on being rescued. I thought the breeding ritual scenes were tastefully done, considering what was actually being forced. That she and Rich fell in love is understandable as they are both empathic individuals. I wish there was a way to give 4.5 stars.

Rich AKA Unit 78, is one of the "failed" cyborg experiments. He retained more of his humanity than the truly brain dead units. As usual he and his unit are treated with disdain by the military that created them, treating them as a dirty little secret. But when an Admirals daughter is kidnapped on a peacekeeping mission, they are called on to extract her.

Kyrin, is a negotiator but her skills let her down when she is kidnapped by a breeding cult! The leader wants to breed her himself but when Rich lands and claims that he is the "man of metal" mentioned in their prophecy. He has to get Kyrin out of their clutches but to do so he is going to have to get up close and far more personal than her father wants!

Kyrin came across as a bit naïve in my opinion. However she is a pacifist at her core and it kind of worked for her. Rich was Alpha personified. I loved how he took care of Kyrin in the throes of her serum induced "hot period". Kyrins humiliation could have crippled her but with Rich by her side she copes pretty well. Her fathers reaction, however left me wanting to smack him one! What an odious toad!

I enjoyed getting to know some of the other cyborg members of his crew as I haven't read the other book in this series as yet. Kyrin's sister is a bit of a firebrand and I can't wait to see what havoc she wreaks!

Rich Hardgraves aka Unit 78 has been tasked to bring back the Admirals daughter Kyrin from Beacon Five. But the problem is that Beacon Five has been taken over by a Breeding Cult and they have a plan for Kyrin. They believe she is part of the prophecy that a child with flaming red hair and intense light blue eyes will be the one to build and guide the cult to taking over the galaxy. But Rich is not going to let that happen.

First, let me say that when I read the line stating she was on Beacon Five, I automatically flashed to Star Tre: Wrath of Kahn (“This is Ceti Alpha Five”). Im just waiting for them to land on a Genesis planet. LOL Now the other thing, OMG I may have seen cups before but reading about it and how they are placed along with this injection they give WOW. And what is up with the nectar? I was trying to figure that one out. And the “breeding” aspect, HELLO? This cult is crazy. They actually believe this? Heck I wanted to escape from these crazies too. And what was in the gas and liquid serum? Seriously, that was an aphrodisiac x100. I agree with him on how to deal with these crazies. But MAN were these two trapped.

We also get told about Kyrin’s sister Abby the news reporter. I’m wondering if Unit 85 “Harper” will be rescuing her. That sounds like a story.

I really liked this story because it was fun. A quick read that hit my enjoy spots constantly.

The hero, Rich or Unit 78, has some great internal dialogue with himself during the story and his interactions are freaking hilarious at times. There were times that I thought the heroine, Kyrin, should have done something different or been a little more proactive, but not sure that would have worked for her character or where she was held against her will.

The situations that they find themselves in are not humorous, and some of them are downright scary and humiliating, especially for Kyrin. I was able to empathize with her during the story and really enjoyed when she stood up for herself, not that it got her very far. Her father on the other hand needs to have a good throat punch. Her sister, now that is one story that am SO looking forward to reading (hint, hint Mina and Evangeline!).

Overall, I really liked this one and am really looking forward to what comes out of this awesome author pairing.

Richard Hardgraves is half man, half machine and a totally lovable character. He was once a soldier now turned into a cyborg because of one man in charge of his unit and the whole base deemed them fodder for his plan to be rich. Now he and the rest of his unit under the leadership of Drew Fisher are utilising their skills so they can have complete autonomy and separation from Space Corps and Admiral Pierce has just given them the way to do it. Admiral Pierce's daughter has been captured by a dangerous cult that has taken over a space colony and they intend to use her in their Breeding Compound because she matches a description in their scriptures. It will be Rich's job to infiltrate the cult and rescue Kyrin Pierce. It will not be easy as Rich and Kyrin will be both put into a situation that will have unexpected results. I wish to thank Mina Carter and Evangeline Anderson for the wonderful review copy. Love this series. Looking forward to seeing what happens to Kyrin's sister in the next book. Highly recommend.

UNREALISTIC. SMUTTY, BUT SO GODDAMNED WHOLESOME IT CHECKED ALL MY BOXES. I've been in a slump and I was feeling needy, so thankfully this book helped.

If you love cyborgs, smut and a protective male lead who is sweet on his woman, then this is perfect for you. I won't lie, this books gets you horny with the cultist breeding shit, and it is the most frightening and traumatizing experience, not to mention close to human trafficking feeling ever a person can be made to feel - helpless and overpowered - but hey, THIS IS SMUT, so please turn off your brains.

And secondly, it's FICTION.

It wasn't exactly insta-love, but there was undeniable passion between the characters. Of course, it's hard to believe it was love when the two were forced to have sex and barely had a decent conversation....but, you know what they say, trauma experienced by two people can only bring them closer because no other bystanders will ever understand the shared emotions the victims underwent.

OVERALL I enjoyed this very smut. A guilty pleasure.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own. Ok with that being said I really enjoyed this book. Under the circumstances both Rich and Kyrin experience a horrible ordeal. I will advise caution while reading it. Still that didn't take away from the story. However I would've prefer more of a build up between Kyrin and Rich instead of the instant falling in Love. (That just my opinion ) I also like the interaction between the cyborgs especially with the way they tease each other. It's was easy to see and believe they are a military unit they're very protective of each other and they have each other back. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series I really hope it's Kyrin sister.

The cyborg unit that was created while their brains were still "alive" are no longer taking orders from the Space Corps. However, the admiral of the Corps needs a favor. The cyborgs decide to use it to their advantage. So, Unit 78, Rich, is tasked with saving the admiral's daughter, Kyrin. She has been taken by a cult that wants to use her for breeding. Rich is able to get to her but she has already been given all kinds of drugs that make her not herself.

These 2 were perfect together, they didn't try to pretend they weren't attracted to each other, they simply admitted that things needed to be done to survive. However, they're both suffering from some insecurities. Then add in Kyrin's crazy dad and it makes an interesting story. Can't wait to read the next one. Harper and Kyrin's sister are going to be hilarious!!!

Due to greed by the higher ups, Rich, a.k.a. Unit 78 and his injured unit were cyberized.
Yet unlike most candidates Rich's group weren't brain dead and thus turned into mindless metal drones.
They maintained autonomy and refused to follow any further orders.
They then turned their backs on the government that trained then tried to repurpose them.
Now one of those very officials needs Rich to do him a favor.
Rescue his daughter whose been abducted by a zealous breeding cult.
Because of an wacky prophecy.
The admiral makes it clear that Rich is to return his daughter untouched, which Rich assures.
What woman would find his half human, half metal physique appealing.
Rich agrees but not without negotiating favorable terms for his people.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from one of the authors in exchange for my unbiased review.

This is the second book of the series, and it really a very interesting read. The way the story line was presented and the plot was created was something else. The thing that I enjoyed was the interaction of the crew. Between Harper and Jones, it was like a comedy act that I was not expecting. Yes, it should not be funny, but you have to admit, the way the crew talked and interacted was so cool.

With that aside, I find that Kyrin abit lacking, but heck, she is part of the Interstellar Peace Keeping Association (IPKA), so the guts that she showed was something else too. Rich? I liked him from book one, and would love to learn more about the couple on the other books of the series, if there will be one.

Good job with the book!

I really enjoyed this story!!! It pulled me in from beginning to end and once I started I didn't want to stop. I loved the characters. They are well written and you can definitely connect to them. This story could have a couple trigger buttons for people but the blurb gives you a pretty good idea of exactly what is going on in this story. I thought it was all handled well. I loved the interactions between Rich and Kyrin. They are between a rock and a hard place and they do their best. I love how Rich checked everything with Kyrin and made sure that she knew. I really liked the plot and the world that Mina Carter has created here. I wasn't ready for the story to be over. There is plenty of action and intrigue along with the romance. The story is explicit. The story flowed well and kept me engaged the whole time. It was a fairly quick read for me and I'm excited for the next one!

It was awesome.

78 or Rich might be more metal than man physically. But he's all man heart and soul. When he agrees to
rescuing Kyrin an admirals daughter he didn't bargain on calling in love with her as well. Rich reduces her from a crazy cult and even though circumstances push them together you can feel their chemistry ignite the minute they look at one another. One crazy situation after another tries to separate this couple their own insecurities and her father, but in the end both find the home they were looking for in each other. I'm really looking forward to the next book and I hope it's about Harper and Abbey!☺ These books have turned out to be a wonderful way to spend and evening.so wonderful in fact I wish I could have my very own cyborg!😍

Mina Carter always delivers a fun exciting read, paired with Evangeline Anderson is just icing on the cake I adore both authors.

This is the second book in the CyBRG Files has Rich going in for a rescue only he is suited for. He's going to a fanatic colony to save an Admiral's daughter.

Let's remember that Cyborg in most people's eye's are poster children for what could go wrong, dangerous its that don't even get a name but a number. But good enough to hire for a rescue attempt of an important daughter.

Not saying much else you have to read it but the group of fanatics just had me laughing the writers came up with a very interesting situation.

Fun, short but not short. Great characters hot scenes can't wait to read more of the series. Enjoy

I have to be in a special mindset to enjoy this type of sci fi as it usually freaks me out.
Having not read book one and not being a fan of Cyborgs, I have to say this was a very enjoyable read with interesting characters.
The cultist culture is alive and well even in the future and I felt sorry for what Kyrin went through but I loved how Rich saved the day not once but twice.
What a nasty piece of work the admiral was.
The cyborgs are the heroes in this story and how they became cyborg is tragic but I love they have built a place to call home all for themselves.
I loved all the other Cyborgs in this group, they were all very interesting and intriguing characters. I may one day read the rest of this series.
I was given this book as a free read for an honest review.

Unit 78 - formerly corporal Richard Hardgraves and his team had been taken out by a land mine and conveniently malfunctioning medical equipment. Then orders form the corrupt pike made them all cyborgs. Since their not brain dead they remain incontrol of thier body but space corps has disowned them until they need help
Admiral pierce's daughter has been kidnapped
Kyrin is a peace maker she was taken by the Tr'Low Breeding cult and Rich is going after her.
Oh this was was great lots of twists and turns to the story made it a real page turner I couldn't put it down. Awesome characters, lots of action, betrayal, mystery, intrigue, drama, and more. Don't miss it.

I enjoyed this book and the continuation of the CyBRG Files. Like with the first book it leaves me wanting more and seeing what happens with the rest of the squad. Here we have Unit 78 (formally Rich) who must save the Admiral's daughter, Kyrin, from a crazy breeding cult. Kyrin has been kidnapped to fulfill their prophecy of a child born of a mother with red hair and a father of half metal. Rich has gone to rescue her in the hopes they will believe him as the other half of the prophecy. The two of them must find each other and overcome some challenges before they can even think of escaping. Will they work together and find love amongst the chaos? Out of this World Cyborg Story!!

I docked one point for a slightly contrived situation for our hero and heroine. A prophesy for a breeding cult causes the admirals’ daughter Kyrin to be kidnapped because she resembles the chosen bride. Cyborg Unit 78; formerly Corporal Richard Hargraves is asked to rescue her, as he passes for the other piece of the prophesy.

An unusual situation exists within the cult concerning breeding, drugs, poison and high risk. Forcing these two to become intimate to survive. Cyborgs are generally seen as “below” humans, but they act with more honor than some of the humans in this story.

Rescued none too soon!
Admiral Pierce (not a fan of cyborgs), calls on one to rescue his daughter. It seems to be the only way to infiltrate the cult where she’s being held. Kyrin experiences the horrors of a cult and the drugs they use to achieve their goals.
I admire the inner strength Kyrin exhibits during her captivity, even though she cannot escape on her own. The bond she and Rich (Unit 78) form is deep and lasting. As for Rich, I think he’s the perfect mate for Kyrin, who seems to find herself in far too many dangerous situations! Just a note: the early part of the story is rather ‘hard’ reading, though a plot essential.

Unit 78....

While I haven't read the first book in this series( plan on one-clicking asap), I don't think it hampered my reading of this book. I loved Unit 78(Rich). Man or cyborg, he was a wonderful male. The way he interacted and protected Kyrin was sweet. Unfortunately, the situation Kyrin was in was not sweet. It could be considered dark and depraved by some and I'm not just referring to her time with the Tr'Low Breeding Cult. The time with her father is just as bad. I suggest you read to find out what I mean. I can't wait to see what these two authors have planned next... maybe Harper and Abby.

Hot and sexy sci-fi romance!

I really enjoyed this book! The heroine is the daughter of an admiral in the Space Force. In her job as a peace mediator she’s kidnapped by a crazy cult on a distant planet. Her father calls in a cyborg to rescue her, though he hates the cyborgs with a passion. In rescuing her, the hero has to have sex with her because of all the drugs the cult had given her, preparing her to be bred. After he rescues her and she’s returned to her father, complications arise and she needs rescuing again- from her own father! Great ending.

This is one book that made me blush. The ordeal that Kyrin had to go through and what needed to be done for Rich “Unit 78” to save her, was not the usual fare that I was expecting from the authors. The storyline and the love connection were great. I just had to get past the imprisonment portion. I really like how Rich and his unit were more than just cyborgs based on how they came to be. They weren’t afraid to take on Kyrin’s father or use people’s fear of them to their advantage. Kyrin was a tough cookie as was her sister taking on the universe.
