Mobs... Drugs... Guns... Hookers... Just another day in Dirty Chicago
Season one revolves around the Novelli Madden, Amelia, and Harper
If you need trigger warnings, this story is not for you. There is no epic romance within the pages. No happy endings. No heros. Only villains with dirty hands. If you love to hate characters, this is the read for you! This short story is meant for mature adults.
Warning!! Read at your own risk! Lol! Do not expect a romantic journey or any type of HEA!! This is a gritty no holds barred type of read! Anything that can happen, will happen!! It reminds me more of a script for a drama filled Mafia series! So entertaining and will keep you begging for more!!
Each "episode" in the season stars a different characters POV. I absolutely loved reading the story through each character, it really brings the story to life and shows how truly messed up the Novelli family is! Hahaha!
If you want something completely out of the box, get this now! It will take you on a rollercoaster of messed-up-ness and you'll love every second!!
First and Foremost Dirty Chicago is NOT a romance! It's a Mafia book, that is utterly and absolutely addicting. I love, love, love that Miss Andrew's took a chance on writing this. Its spectacular, edgy, raw, brutal, and mind blowing.
It follows the Novelli family, and each part is from a different point of view. This made me seriously salivate and left me wanting and needing more. But, for me, it made Dirty Chicago that much more intriguing.
Its starts off with Madden! I seriously have love/hate feelings for him. He is such the Mafia God, and he knows it. He lives and breathes the criminal life. His life and his actions are so true to what it's actually like being the leader of the Mafia. It's not sunshine and rainbows, and neither is he. And, with that I wanted to hate him, i sooo did, but i just couldnt.
Then we get Amelia's POV! From the second I flipped the last page of Madden and realised what was happening I was so floored!! I was like Hell Yeah, it's about to go down!!! Amelia is all to familiar with the evil parts of the Mafia life. From a young age she has been entwined in it and forced to do the unthinkable. But Madden, he saves her. And, she knows all too well what her husband does, all of it, and what he is capable of. This made me love Madden a teeny bit more. But again, its realistic to the actual life! Her loyalty and her fierceness is captivating. She understands her life and her husband and owns that s*%t. She wont ever let anyone destroy her or him.
And then Harpers POV!!! She is Amelia and Madden's daughter. This girl is so complicated and strong. So determined to do her own thing. Such a true Mafia Princess! She is just as involved in that life as her father and her mother. She is just as loyal, regardless of the happenings around her, and she is not afraid of that life. She embraces it and lives it. She also has a few secrets too. Those are so juicy and worth it!
Dirty Chicago is so different from anything that I've read. I'm so excited that I took the chance on it! It was exactly what I needed, when i read it! It rejuvenated me, when I was in a funk with reading. I didnt know what to expect but dayum, what I got was exceptional. Please please please take a chance, break out of your norm, read Dirty Chicago you wont regret it!!!
In part 1, we are introduced to Madden Novelli, his wife Amelia, his daughter Harper, and his right-hand man at work, Enzo. Madden is insanely wealthy, powerful, handsome, sexy, and the biggest crime/drug lord in Chicago. Despite occasional infidelities, Madden loves and adores his gorgeous wife Amelia, with whom he has an 18-year-old-daughter Harper.
Dirty Chicago part 1 introduces this family, Madden’s business, and how his life works. Despite his wandering eye, I couldn’t help but fall head over heels for this man. He’s hot, sexy, charismatic, and an alpha male that makes you love and hate him at the same time. I also love his wife Amelia. She’s well taken care of financially, loves her husband – despite his flaws, but is also incredibly smart and streetwise. They bear some resemblance to Tony and Carmela Soprano, except that Madden is drop dead gorgeous and Amelia is much more aware of things than Carmela was.
We all know from my review and post history that I absolutely love K.B. Andrews, but Dirty Chicago is a new direction for her and I’m so happy that she went with it. This short story series is non-stop, fast-paced, exciting, and surprising. While reading, I never knew what was coming next or who would be involved, making this an absolute page-turner. K.B.’s fantastic writing is evident throughout the story as she makes the characters and their storylines come to life. The crime, the seriously sexy scenes, the drama, and the constant questions about everyone’s motives made this a wonderfully wild ride. As this series to your TBR because this is not one you want to miss.
I can totally see this as a Cable mini series! This is a story about the mob life. It is gritty, sexy, laden with revenge and totally not an HEA. It starts with Madden Novelli and continues on through several other family members. Madden is the character that you love to hate except I kinda liked him. Totally dirty and damned to the core but told from the family's point of view it is so captivating. Amelia is totally a tough as nails mafia wife. l loved the riveting action and mafia story line. KB Andrews never ceases to amaze me with the broad spectrum of her writing and quite honestly I have enjoyed each novel she has written or co-authored.
Weird as fuck! I skimmed this book, and it wasn’t even that long. Filled with clichés and whatnot, it seemed more like a reality show rather than a book intended to portray chaos, violence, and the underwold of Chicago. I sort of knew how it was gonna end. It was too obvious. Needless to say, it ends with a cliffhanger, something I DO NOT LIKE. But I won’t be picking up Book 2.
If you want dirty sex every few pages, or people thinking about it every other paragraph, drug dealing, violence, but mostly just sex based on all of the above, then go ahead and read this. Who knows, you might like it.
If not, then don’t even bother. This book isn’t for you.
romance story. I don't typically like Mobster style plots but I loved this book. Kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to read faster. You will have a love/hate relationship with Madden. He's an jerk who you want to lose but not at the same tims. Amelia is an interesting woman with her own flaws. I liked Harper but she's a spoiled brat. It's a really great book with lots of hot dirty sex scenes, violence in spades and betrayal. I can not wait until season two.
This is a fantastic start to this series! I was completely captivated from page one until the end of the book! The characters are so colorful, and real, and the story was so good! You can easily picture this playing out on tv, and it would be a number one hit for sure! There are some twists you won't see coming, and the suspense will have you on the edge of your seat! Don't miss out on what is the beginning of a sure to be hit series!
Dark, dirty and oh so sexy, Dirty Chicago is the type of book that deserves its own place on HBO's lineup on Friday nights! Told from members of the family's POV, it's a tale of secrets, sex, lies, and revenge. A great read with so much steam it'll make your eyelashes curl! If you aren't reading this, Madden Novelli WILL find you. And once he does, well, it's your funeral ;)
I couldn't hate Dirty Chicago, I loved it. I loved the drama, the action and chaos. It was a fast paced, easy read. It kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the page to see what was happening next. I'm glad that when the season ended it didn't leave you hanging in wonder what would become of the Novelli Family. I'm looking fwd to reading Season 2 of Dirty Chicago.
Wow! I don’t know where to start! This is a dirty, steamy, wicked crime drama all rolled into one! Nothing is as it appears Trust no one. Madden and Amelia have their empire but with all the shady dealings going on, they might not be able to hold onto it. Dirty Chicago, indeed. 5 stars!
This book was written so each character had their own view, which I like, but I'd like to know a little more about the characters themselves to understand the motives of their actions.
