Chitose lives her life wearing a “mask” in order to be liked by others. She meets a boy named Itsuki who goes to an art prep school and sees through her façade, so she decides to go on as her true self. Chitose starts to attend the art prep school, too. She goes to classes and makes friends. Though harsh, Itsuki sometimes shows a softer side to her, and she gradually becomes attracted to him, but…?! What should she do to get closer to the real Itsuki…? This is volume 2 of the young, art prep school love between a mask-wearing girl and a free-spirited boy!
Review to come. Finished just in time to meet my goal. I actually liked this volume better than the first since it shows that Itsuki has just as much of a mask as Chitose. They had some really cute moments in this volume. 3.5 - 4 stars, but I need to think on it.
Damn. For a moment there it was smooth sailing and then bam, childhood friend or rival. I already don't like the guy. Chitose is finally being more honest with herself and admitting the truth to her friends. I was waiting for her to pass out and get an intervention, but broken project is the same. Itsuki came across as a hypocrite a few moments there. Curious about the next one.

I still think this is Blue Period with romance elements into it.
In shoujo mangas with stories like these, sometimes the story itself takes second nature and they usually try to focus on the romance aspect of the story. I'm glad that in this case they do not only focus on the "romance" aspect, but also gives focus on the arts, and about the girl's feelings with her friends and towards the girl's dream. In a way, I'm glad that they were able to give a good balance between the arts and the romance into it.
Ngl, the appearance of a "rival" seems out of nowhere so....... I guess I'll be able to form a good judgement about it AFTER I read the 3rd volume? welp.
Now this series reminds me of a mixture of Ao Haru Ride and Honey and Clover. I love how the story is delving into the characters’ relationships with art too!
Punt positiu.
I just wish the art was for her. Everything she does is centered around him. I keep fooling my eyes and wishing she would stand up for herself a little bit. The ending of the volume is probably gonna bring some sort of conflict. It felt painful at points not because she is wearing a mask (which really just seems more to be trying to meet society expectations and not rocking the boat so to speak), like I get why it’s hard when you don’t think you fit in why try to please people but when she is making friends other than the love interest, her thoughts are all still focused on him. Le sigh… girl started off doing art projects and selling them at her family store so I thought art school would be a little for her but it is all about some guy.
Okay, so I am very interested in how the story is going so far! The main characters is relatable because pretty much everyone is afraid of not being liked grownup and as an adult! I know that's not always the case but to see this trait as a negative is regret for me! I was bullied for being too nice and I wish I was more open with things that made me happy! So her changing and being more comfortable with herself is awesome! Can't wait to see how ahe continues to change
More like 2.5 stars. I really want to love this series. The art is beautiful and I like the idea of it, but it’s just so boring, and the MC’s are more annoying than interesting... I think I’m going to pass on continuing.
Even better than volume 1! The stakes aren't high but the characters are so precious. The main characters feel very relatable and fallible but not in an annoying way. Unrequited love (*sigh*) my heart fluttered when he kissed her before he realized what he was doing.

While Chitose made some good progress in this volume, Itsuke’s behavior somewhat confuses me. Overall, I still feel neutral about he series from what I’ve read so far. I’m gonna give this series the benefit of the doubt again and read the 3rd volume, to see if my feelings change.
