Uncool: Fights, Camera, Action

Rate this book
So, I’m DD and I’m going to be rich and famous because I’m making a film on (hold the phone still, will ya?) high school life. All the secrets, fights, crazy exam pressure, brainiacs and show offs (not you, not you!). Only, everyone wants to be the star (hey you, get out off the frame!). It’s got drama and hysterics, historics, sorry, histrionics. And my mom’s got Mr Horns. And I still haven’t got a boyfriend or a dog. And then, the lurker appears. And it all gets super scary. And he’s coming closer – so I’ve gotta run. Fast. Bye! See ya inside! The first book of the bitingly funny UNCOOL series – a rib-tickling tackling of teen issues!

Uncool is a dazzlingly illustrated middle grade novel that takes me back to my own school days – with panache and with hilarious results!

Uncool follows the voice of DD;
 the younger daughter of a single mother, who dreams of being a documentary film – maker and is starting her tremulous journey by making a documentary of her Class (Grade) 8 class.

Its easy to actually identify with DD – everything (well almost!) that’s she feels, from her first crush & to her issues with her sister and her mother – the low self esteem issues, the lies of a well – meaning kid & the learning from her own mistakes. The emotional wonder of being a teen in India is aptly captured and definitely identified with!

Uncool is the start to a wonderful new middle grade series that already promises to be one hilarious yet quite appropriate as well as pertinent in its expression of teen issues! This is a series that I am definitely looking forward to seeing exactly what path does Ms. De Suza take this series onto!
