Allegiance to Your Love

Rate this book
One look required a double-take, and a double-take revealed his fate to love a woman who didn't know how it felt to be honorably loved.

Naima Jenkins obtained a life many women kneeled to pray for. The exterior showcased a happily married woman with a beautiful smile so envy-worthy that she should've considered watching her back. Contrarily, she was sleeping with the real enemy - a man who promised to love her endlessly, but his actions didn't correlate. Enough becomes too much to bear when her scars run out of time to heal before another is enforced.

Anxious to reclaim control over her somber life, Naima is determined to stand up for herself. Focused on the bigger picture, being accompanied by another man didn't fit into the plan. However, Mannix Campton wasn't just any man. Harboring charisma and profound thoughtfulness, he was irresistible. A plea to trust him could change her life if she's willing to give herself up again. If only she was willing, an unconventional introduction could lead to the electrifying passion she'd always craved.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT READ!

B. Love Publications has added another great writer to her roster. AND, I feel like I know her personally having been cafe mates in a FB Group. Congratulations to you and wishing you plentiful blessings. This was a great story. I loved how you showed Naima as a vulnerable woman ANYONE of us readers can relate too, and how you showed how she/we can get back to life. You didn't rush her process with herself nor with her "friend" relationship with Mannix. This man, so they still make them like THAT? Point me in that direction cause I will hunt one like him down. Now, sissy Naomi she has me curious. Glad I have book 2 already so I can go on and kill that cat. Excellent, excellent read everyone!

Loved It

This is such a well written book. I’m so grateful that Naima was able to get out and I’m even more grateful for Mannix. I’m so looking forward to that happy ending for them.

Naima Jenkins has suffered much at the hands of her husband. Needing an escape, she finds help and solace in the company of Mannix Campbell.

Mannix knows firsthand the kind of predicament Naima has found herself in and he wants to be there to assist her in getting back on her feet. The attraction between the two is immediate, although Naima tries to fight it with everything in her. Mannix is a man any woman in her right mind would be looking for.

You can feel the heat, the emotions and the blossoming love between these two. Even though this is a shorter story, the characters are very well developed. I wanted more and hope they will make an appearance in the next book.

Kudos to ShanicexLola for a job well done. I loved it

Restoration Love

Draven was a crappy, abusive husband to Naima and thanks to her sister, Naomi, she gathered the strength that she needed to leave him. While Naima and Naomi where looking for Naima an apartment they ended up at one of the complexes that Mannix oversaw and even though he didn't have any openings he felt compelled to help Naima out because he saw her bruises and recalled a time when his dad abused his mom. Mannix was really a help to Naima and he encouraged her heal and live her best life. It's a good thing that she had a strong family support system.

Fell Short

This was a quick read that fell short of my expectations. The subject matter was dark in the first place. I was ready to tackle it in spite of my own reservations. I did not like the female lead. She was weak and cried way too much for me. She needed therapy in the worse way. Her husband did not get his comeuppance. A quick divorce was not good enough, especially when it comes to verbal and physical abuse. He was a monster and belonged in prison.

I liked Mannix, although I felt he needed therapy too. There were deep issues with him, too. He was a product of his upbringing, too. He was a good man, though. I wanted to live him, however, he left me wishing he was a well-developed character. The frame was there, however, I longed for more substance.

Naima and Naomi? Their names made me go back way too much for a quick read. Honestly, I would prefer a clear difference when it came to the names. Initially, I thought they were twins. There had to be a story there that I totally missed.

This could have been great. It dealt with a dark social issue. It wasn't handled. A romance on top of all that trauma was unrealistic. The description did not match the story. Disappointed does not accurately describe how I feel as I type this review.

A do over would be great at this point. Give me a 300 page story, with well-developed characters who face their demons and slay their dragons. Honestly, the outcome with the abuser was just too mild. From experience, a man like that would see her dead before he let her go. I could go on, however, I will be the dissenting reviewer. It fell really short and honestly, it wasn't good enough.

Not one of my favorites..

Allegiance to Your Love was a very fast paced read. Not sure how long divorces can be finalized, but Naima’s divorce was finalized quicker than a mother... I liked how these two were determined to be friends and not rush into anything physical. Mannix was obviously ripe and ready to be plucked by how fast he fell for Naima. She didn’t have to put in any work for him to be sprung.

This book was cool, if a bit unrealistic. Speedy divorce handled by someone other than yourself.. Attractive, super nice, employed, single man wanting to put a ring on it after meeting for the first time?... a bit unbelievable.

What bothered me most about this book was the writing style. Most of the time I didn’t know if Naima was talking to herself or someone else.

Love Can Embrace You After Heartbreak

I enjoyed being immersed into the love ofNaima and Mannix. Naima was protecting her heart at all costs after a Draven’s physical abuse and deceitful ways. I loved how selfless Mannix was to Naima. Their connection was not built off of physical attraction alone and the author made you appreciate Mannix’s point of view. I really wanted to read more about the romance that sparked between Naima and Mannix, because things were heating up. However, I can not wait for the next installment to the series! Shanice this book was definitely a page turner!

This story was cool. I hate the way it ended. Felt incomplete. I wonder how much Naima and Mannix story pics up in Naomi's story.

2 things that bugged me with this story and probably with the next is the MC names Mannix for this one Angrous for the next. Second is the unnecessary use or slang/nigga. Now I don't have problem with it's use in general. Just it didn't feel authentic. Seem forced most of the time in this story. From characters that based on what I know, it didn't seem like they'd speak that way

I'll check out Naomi's story and if it's at least as good as this one I plan to read more from the author

Finding peace

Naima and Draven's relationship was doomed from the start. No good came from their marriage. Naima wanted to be loved by her husband, he wanted to control her. Once he steps out on her, she has to face a new reality. Mannix is a good dude, a really nice, patient man. He wants to help Naima see her worth. Her sister Naomi was a firecracker. Both sisters have relationship issues, but where does these issues stem from?? It was a good read, I'll check out the next installment.

Story of growth and self worth

I loved this story of Patience growth and su rv i val. Mannix would not give up on Naima recognizing her beauty and self worth and then she finally accepted that mannix was not there to hurt her like her husband did. I'm glad she had a strong support system to help Her through that moment in her life because not everyone has that. This author told a beautiful tale of Self disco very and growth. I cant wait to read her sister's story!

Good Read

Honey, the beginning of this book had me 38 hot. I did not want to continue reading, but I persevered. Baby, I was saying all kinds of cursing over here. Healing is essential in situations like Naima. It happens all to often to women everywhere. Mannix is the man though. He was a breathe of fresh air. He was just what she needed. I was disappointed when their story ended, but I saw the lessons in it. Good job!

Very good story

I loved the story and characters. Naima was damaged by an abusive relationship but she was not destroyed. Mannix was damaged by living in an abusive household but he also was not destroyed. They came together to heal each other. The beauty of two damaged souls healing each other is amazing.

A warming story of Growth

The story of Naima was so refreshing. The growth she went through with the help of her family and Mannix was touching and believable. I could feel and pain and joys. I wished there was more on the growth of romantic love between Niama and Mannix. I would love to read that.

Why did it have to end!!!

I loved everything about this book. Seeing the growth and change in Naomi. Her sister was trip with how she treated her boyfriend. I can't wait to read more on their story. I feel like there's so much more to Naomi and Mannix's story. But I loved the ending because it's the beginning of a new and fresh start for Naomi in so many ways.

Enjoyed it

I really loved their story because it didn't a lot of bitterness towards a man that really carded for you. I do wish to read more about her and mannix. In the next installment. She over came her hurt and fear of letting someone else take care of her heart the way it supposed to go. Great read.

He Did Not Ruin Me!,,

Yes. Naima regained her perception of her self worth. Through Mannix’s patience and support she realized she was the prize. Her ex was the one ruined because he lost her.

Mannix was a patient man and I’m glad he didn’t force his was into Naima life after all she’s been through and only wanted to be her friend. I hope we can see if they actually get together.

Awwwww.....

Mannix for man of the year! So sweet how he stepped in to help her, not knowing a thing about her. Took the time to lift her up, make her smile and gain her heart. Looking forward to seeing more of these two in the future.

Good Story

It took a minute to get into the story. The story was nice and held my interest. Again the pacing was slow but it still held my interest.
