Please try and see her live as a spoken word artist. I feel like she reached into my heart and didn’t let go until she was done saying what she had to say. There’s such strength in the way her soul has been bared in this poetry collection. And she does it so beautifully.
Coming from a similar background of multiple identities (where you hesitate, take a deep breath when the ‘where you’re from?’ question barrels into you), I’m inspired to be braver and truer to who I am, and transcend where I’ve been before.
